For a 2nd Time: Why can't the Robes show some leg? :(

I had my rant with the recent Tavern Maid dress. Now it's happening again.



You're killing my little dress up heart. Why does every single Robe had to go all the way down to the ground? This is a BEAUTIFUL piece of Khajiiti cultural garb and yet it has to have a length that drags it into the dirt we trudge through on the daily. I am an avid End Gamer of Elder Fashion Online guys and I would've been ROCKIN the Sunspire Robe if it just showed even just a little bit of leg.

There may be technical reasons combined with that it would look bad due to said technical reasons.

Also, this game is not designed like a softcore porno (thank gods). If the MO is about "seeing leg" as opposed to fashion design, well... there are other MMOs that will give males their fix in that department.

Luckily, the legs can be used for what the OP is asking for, but as such. There should be a three way style for certain costumes. Long dress / Short (or) mid dress / pants. Offers variety.

Nah, it's the way you framed it, bud. "Show some leg?" Surely we are all aware of the connotations of that sort of language.

I agree with OP. My elf happily adventures in knee-length 'robes' like the Warden costume or Falkreath Thane costume. Ankle length robes may be fine in the guild hall but are totally impractical for adventuring. All we're asking for is a few more of the robes be knee length like the examples I mentioned or the mage guild robes in Skyrim.

For example, I like to use skirts on both female and male characters, and never even considered this meaning... Showing skin has literal meaning for me - showing beautiful body paint. None of my characters has simple unedited skin - it's boring for me to look at.

Only some of my girls wear short skirts, but not all would look good on them - it's not as simple as "wear anything as long as it's short and shows her legs".

This girl wouldn't like the look of shorter version of Tavern Maid dress for example - even though I loved the edited screenshot of it from that thread

But I wouldn't mind if we got some shorts which barely cover the butt of the character - it could be awesome for both male and female characters for Barbarian look.

For guys I like to show torso skin instead of leg skin most of time.
This guy would definitely wear fierce-looking shorts (with other boots of course)! Argonian 1 tier shorts are not fierce enough for him - that's why he wears fierce-looking skirt:

He wouldn't wear short skirts, but he looks good with some leg shown - this dress has absolutely amazing skirt and I would love to combine it with different tops from outfit styles:

Well we do have two turbans, both of which cover the head, one with a face mask, exposing only the eyes, as well as several hoods with masks, so in a sense we do have hijabs, which is fine and can be very useful for some unique outfits.

Why not have both? The people who want to show off their skin can do that and those who want to cover everything have an option too. See, everyone are happy that way.

Personally I love how many fully covering outfits this game has for female characters, but that doesn't mean I think there shouldn't be alternatives that show off skin for those who want to do that.

I did say some, not "all leg". Though for that i'd just unequip the legs entirely.

Ahaha.. well, we do have the apostle style. Looks like they unequpped their legs for mechanical ones on the heavy style.

In seriousness, I too would like some shorts/capris/skirts. My bosmer archer wears the only shorts that exist in the game. They look like they are made of scales. She would probably complain about if chaffing if she could voice her opinion on the style...

I'd love to have both...I mean wanting the other one has nothing to do with 'wanting to cover everything', more so 'hey there are some really pretty details on that dress and I'd like to retain them while still having the shorter version too'

Argonian and Maz are base game and dungeon. Can't remember if there's leg on the Mirkmire motifs, though.

Dresses are a common article of clothing, so which category would you prefer it be under, Robes, or Jerkins. Either way its a Light Armor chest piece.
