What I don't understand is the 2 straps hanging from the waist... what is their purpose? Same with flaps (front/back or side) for light armor, robes and jerkins.

Do you see a mini skirt or bikini ANYWHERE in the OP?

No, I already answered your OP about light armours, I was talking about the recent comments
Still going... & coincidentally to this thread, good for both avatar dress-up and the soft-core porno

I had my rant with the recent Tavern Maid dress. Now it's happening again.
You're killing my little dress up heart. Why does every single Robe had to go all the way down to the ground? This is a BEAUTIFUL piece of Khajiiti cultural garb and yet it has to have a length that drags it into the dirt we trudge through on the daily. I am an avid End Gamer of Elder Fashion Online guys and I would've been ROCKIN the Sunspire Robe if it just showed even just a little bit of leg.
Agree... there should be more diversity to robes, but it seems they reuse the same 3d mesh for each.

That's what the jerkin is for, no pun intended

We live in a year where in a famous American university they passed an internal law that forbids applauses. Because applauses can "trigger" some people.
Imagine the state of insanity that humanity has come to.
