Agree... there should be more diversity to robes, but it seems they reuse the same 3d mesh for each.

What I don't understand is the 2 straps hanging from the waist... what is their purpose? Same with flaps (front/back or side) for light armor, robes and jerkins.

Totally agree. It's the one thing I hate about ESO. Those sack robes. There should at least be a variety, some long...some knee height etc. Doesn't have to be the miniskirt types like in other MMOs... but get rid of the 'sack clothing' . Also there are short robes as well people. Jeez. Not all robes are long. :/

I agree! I only really ever use the Mazzatun skirt on my characters, I don't like the long ones at all! It would be amazing to have more like that! <3

To me they looked like two ends of a leather or cloth belt.

You do know that this game already has plenty of things you'd put in those categories, right? (well, except for the silly "anime" comment. As if anime has anything to do with revealing fantasy 'armor', or with Eastern MMOs.)

Dark Shaman, the dancer costumes, the wood elf halter-n-skirt costume, several of the motif chests, etc... And the mainline TES games have things like the Forsworn armor in Skyrim, and Seducer/Golden Saint armor in Oblivion.

So, yeah. There's plenty of room for 'revealing' clothing & armor motifs while still fitting in ESO's style & lore.

And for the "omg, you'd see people without pants" or "OMG, mah immershuns!" - you know there's already people who hang around the bank on their mule characters in just the default game underwear, right? And 'immershun' has a hard time holding up to the folks who have total full-body armor... in hot pink and lime green. Let alone their flaming mounts. /eyeroll

    ---
re: "Revealing armor is anime crap!11!1one!11!" Tell that to my childhood in the 70's and 80's, growing up with Western fantasy novels with covers by Frazetta & Vallejo, and all those artists in the D&D stable making chainmail bikinis and sorceresses wearing lingerie... Parkinson, Elmore, Caldwell, etc And the various European artists who showed up in magazines like Heavy Metal - Christos Achilleos, Luis Royo, and so on. (edit: ooh, and the 'sexy Dark Elf' thing, plus sexy demons, were in Warhammer in England in the late 80's.)

But yeah, bikini armor is all Korean MMOs & anime. Right. Sure. Certainly not something they got from decades of Western Fantasy art.

I'd be okay with some more skirt like armor as long as its not too short. I like knee length stuff imo which is why I'm currently favoring the Pyandonean Heavy Legs.

But I hope you get the better armor you want! As a fellow fashion nut I get the pain!

    Nope.

Argonian and Maz are base game and dungeon. Can't remember if there's leg on the Mirkmire motifs, though.

Because Argonians can change gender when they wish, so its not a big issue in their culture.

You're killing my little dress up heart. Why does every single Robe had to go all the way down to the ground? This is a BEAUTIFUL piece of Khajiiti cultural garb and yet it has to have a length that drags it into the dirt we trudge through on the daily. I am an avid End Gamer of Elder Fashion Online guys and I would've been ROCKIN the Sunspire Robe if it just showed even just a little bit of leg.

The original launch era armor is, "painted on," to the mesh. (There were some specific exceptions, like bracers, pauldrons, knee and elbow pats, ect, that projected off the body.) That started changing with Orsinium, and now most new armor has its own mesh.

This is also true for robes. A lot of the launch era robes do share a single "robe" mesh. It's not great, but robes added later in the game's life have offered more variety.
