I started playing Everquest in 1999. It was I think 12 or 13 a month for a subscription. If the inflation on the rest of my life was as good as it has been for the mmo’s I’ve played I’d be pretty happy

Inventory management (craft bag & double bank).

I don't care about anything else included.

The longer I play ESO, the more I crave for TES 6. While I have loved ESO, I'm tired of all the time wasters and filler. I find I end up taking part in so much that isn't fun and I look forward to a more focused game. I also want a game that doesn't make systems suck to charge for upgrades. I guess this is why I avoided MMOs for so long.

first and foremost - the Craft bag (quite frankly, that should be plenty)

But, additionally, I buy a few credits here and there. $15 - the price of the sub - buys 1500 credits. But if I have the sub I get 1650 credits I can count on showing up every month.

And I have access to all the DLCs

    And the double size Bank

    etc

My rationale is - I'm probably going to spend $15 a month for credits anyway. Do I want to just get 1500 credits, or do I want 1650 credits and Everything that comes with the sub?

For me, It's not even a close call.

    IMHO

When I was a sub it was basically to support ZOS. I didn't end up using my crowns from it till the Banker and then the Dro mAthra Senche were released. I almost canceled when the craft bag was released because with my style of play I consider it a pay to win. I understand most don't feel that way, but I'm one hell of a hoarder in games. But I added another 6 months after to continue my support.

I quit subbing when crown crates were released as with the addition of those I didn't feel they needed my sub anymore. Then just supported via DLCs and Chapters till gifting was introduced now it's just chapters. Well I say now, but I was gone 7 months and still need to pick up Elsweyr although I'm not 100% convinced on coming back.

I've just been catching up on fishing and doing writs for the last week. I love this game but it just eats up so much time and I think I'm going through my midlife crisis. I'm getting back into doing the things I enjoyed as a child but never kept exploring as an adult because there was never enough time.

Subscription-based gaming is different from subscription-based services.

You don't pay Netflix or Spotify anything upfront to use the service. Subscription-based games charge you full price for the base game and expansions, in addition to a sub to actually be able to play the game you bought. MMO publishers love to double dip, and I'm shocked the MMO community supports this model as quite frankly, it's a scam. The games should either be fully B2P or fully subscription-based, not both.

Crafting Bag, period, end of decision making. I don't care about crowns, exp, gold, free stuff in the store...if you even remotely are thinking about crafting or selling crafting materials, it really changes how you play the game.

Because of the DLC access and the craft bag. Moreover, I support 100% the subscription based model for mmorpgs. I've been playing for 3 weeks now, and all I hear from people on EU-PC is whining about how bad/greedy ZOS is. I've also realized from conversations I've had that a good chunk of the playbase hasn't played any other mmorpg, so I'll let those folks in on a secret. By mmorpg industry standards, ZOS are god tier. You have never actually experienced a bad publisher, until you've played asian ports like Aion or Blade and Soul. You think paying 12 euros a month for bank/craft bag/dlc access and the worth of your money in crowns is bad? Try starting a game with a subscription model, for it to slowly become more p2w over the years and ending up having cash store exclusive items that cost thousands of euros with the ability to make you unkillable in pvp. Watch a game you love and have dedicated hours playing turn into that, then realize most mmos outside of the big western ones operate with the same pseudo-f2p model, then compare ESO to WoW and GW2, then come tell me how bad ZOS is. Could things be better? Sure they could, but could things be a lot lot lot LOT worse? Absolutely. So before saying "ZOS doesn't deserve my 12 euros a month", try researching the industry standards when it comes to mmo publishers and compare ZOS with its competition, not with your fairy-tale notion of what a publisher/developer should be like.

I sub to ESO+ for pretty much everything it offers, including the Crowns.

Hopefully, it will offer more interesting, aesthetic items I happen to like, in future.

As opposed to mainly borderline pay-to-win and what they call QOL stuff, but is actually more like "pay to make the game vaguely bearable" stuff.

I actually prefer compulsory sub models, as long as I can cancel them easily if I ever have to and/or they stop collecting after you haven't played for a while.

It's generally better to be able to get most things in-game, than have to pay extra for everything, all the time.

Obviously, they would have to charge less in some countries than they currently do, for that to work here, in order to take into account wages and the cost of living in those countries.

Otherwise, almost no one from those countries would be able to play.

There again, locking everything behind high level activities, like raiding or trials (which is what some compulsory sub model games have done) isn't much better, for those who don't want to do those things.

As they then end up paying the same sub as everyone else, but then only having access to a small portion of the rewards.

Meaning the majority are financially supporting the tiny proportion of people who raid, while getting nothing back for it.

The best case scenario would be a local price-based, compulsory sub model game, but with all of the most attractive rewards gainable by regular gameplay and only a few, very specific, achievement-themed, objects (that not many people really care about) locked behind anything too complicated.

The scenario we have at the moment, in this game, is really not good.

It really does feel like a small number of players (not always rich players, by any means) are expected to support the rest of the world, entirely.

Meanwhile, the players from the rest of the world, many of whom would pay something, if the sub was more reasonably priced for them, end up paying absolutely nothing (over and above the base game) and even more to the point, having absolutely nothing (over and above the most basic of things).

While looking wistfully at how the other half (or far less than half), supposedly, live (and probably, often, getting it completely wrong!) and even resorting to begging, sometimes.

There is no fun in this disparate, haves and have nots, situation for anyone involved.

A few cold, heartless people excepted.

Honestly, I don't even know why I'm subscribed anymore. All the promises about new subscriber benefits, and there was what - one costume and a bunch of ugly doorstops. For someone who already owns all the story DLCs, there's little reason to keep subscribing consistently.

Because I want Zenimax to continue hiring top-notch people to maintain and develop my favorite game, and this is a way to support them. Even if the game has problems, I have seen enough effort from the developers to satisfy my disappointing moments. I have played so many games in the past that are bugged, get fixed, and then get old. This game hasn't grown old in all my years of playing.

Let's be honest, the craft bag is pretty neat. - I loot everything and I hoard, so the craft bag is massively helpful. The double bank and inventory space are also super helpful for my hoarding.

I also like that you get access to all DLCs without having to buy each one individually. There are a lot of things to do in this game, and it feels like you get full access to that with a very low monthly payment. I am ok with that. It's roughly the cost of 2 or 3 takeaway coffees a month, less than 1 cinema ticket and less than my Netflix subscription. So for me, the entertainment value, for such a relatively low cost is a no brainer.

And before anyone starts berating me for "supporting a sinking ship"; Yes I agree the lag and disconnects are horrible. Yes, I want them to fix this and yes I think they ought to communicate more with us on the forum. But I enjoy the game both on a PvE and a PvP side. For me personally, I can find something else to do in the game while the PvP disconnect issue gets fixed. I am not going to let me blood pressure raise through the roof over a game I can still play and enjoy.

I'll carry on with my ESO+ and with my 3 takeaway coffees a month.

I used to subscribe to ESO+ for the DLCs as I only owned like 2 or 3, when in total a lot more already existed. Then for the Craftbag additionally and Outfit Dyes.

I only bought ESO+ occasionally back then, nowadays I just wait for the free Trial.
I own all interesting DLCs(Thanks to the Fact that you can buy Crowns with Gold. :p) and got enough space to store up all the Materials, I get while not having the free ESO+.😊
