Remove Cast Time from Ultimates

    You still haven't answered my question in the other thread how adding casttimes to abilities is going to stop you from dieing to other skills that already have a cast time attached to them?

    Casttime on some ultimates are a buff to gankers btw, but i guess you enjoy getting oneshot from stealth, right?

    I have the feeling that the only reason some players are advocating for those casttimes on ultimates is pure schadenfreude. They know better players don't like it and even tho they are still going to get farmed by "bunny hoping premade high health OP groups around towers" and their arguments have been disproved already, they keep supporting those casttimes for the sake of it.

    This isn’t the combat we want in ESO. Cast times are a horrible “fix”.

    Frozen Colossus: Fixed an issue where this ability and its morphs had a 1-second delay before they displayed a hostile telegraph to enemy players. It will now display a hostile circle telegraph in the area the colossus is going to smash, the moment the ability is cast.

    That's basically a ground AOE dot. It will obviously have a visual like all others. Im not talking about specific abilities etc. I am talking about the general concept of combat in this game with instant cast abilities and how you defend. We have proactive defence and self buffs to prepare for the incoming attack and then you also have an abundance of self heals and cc break to recover etc. Those are actually a form of reaction after the ability is casted. Thats why im saying that if the general goal of this change is to give people time to react after the ability is casted by holding block or whatever then it really doesnt make much sense. Especially with how its implemented and playing with freaking milliseconds. The game is already designed in a way that gives people the means to react to incoming attack. Again im talking about the general concept of combat of this game. Not specific examples of every dumb ability ZOS threw in the game. Those are a problem with those specific abilities themselves rather than the combat itself.

    Its not that i entirely disagree with the concept of this change and what it tries to do. Offering different means of reaction in combat and making it skillfull is not a bad thing by any means and i understand that balance is out of control and something has to be done. But changing the core mechanics of the game and making combat clunky for a change that may or may not even do what it actually tries to do, is not the way to go about it. It also discriminates between different abilities. Whats the rule set that decides which ability gets a cast time and which one doesnt and why.

    It seems to be just another band aid fix. Instead of actually trying to address the actual problem of why damage, healing and balance in general is out of control they just throw a cast time on every strong ult in the game with a cheap excuse as a developer comment to make it look nice and hope people buy it disregarding any actual consequence it has to the game. Well you know what they say, you cant *** on people's feet and call it rain.

    Did you finish embarrassing urself in the other thread and you came to give it a try here as well. Well by all means, the floor is urs. We are all eager to learn how a .4s cast time on random abilities is going to prohibit people from blowing you up by using backloaded bursts.

    My issue is with ultimates and executes being able to be chained into instant death with no visual cue. A .4 second delay is a welcome delay to help slow it down.
