LOG IN QUEUE

It's a bummer when I come home from the evening shift and have 1 hour to relax with gaming...and then the queueing takes almost half of the available time.

This state of affairs can continue only for so long.

I can imagine the protests and cries of a conspiracy and underhand subscription marketing...but I do think ESO+ accounts should be prioritised for the time being.

Recently, we’ve seen a massive influx of players to ESO especially on the PC-EU server. This influx of players has resulted in some server performance issues for our players on the PC-EU megaserver, especially during prime-time hours.
I love this. This is marketing at it's finest. Try to turn a negative into a positive. The servers suck. That's the negative. So let's spin this into 'the game is so extremely popular our server infrastructure cannot handle the load'. Who cares what the reason is. The infrastructure has been sub-par for months. I couldn't care less abut what excuse you come up with, I'm not getting the service I paid for.

I'm actually looking at ways to challenge the subscription fee I paid for with Mastercard and I suggest everyone to do the same.

Do it. ZoS refunded me for Elswyr and my yearly sub very quickly last night. They know they have to make recompense here, at least they were professional about the refunds. Shame it’s come to that as a player since beta.

Total capacity management fail, dread to think what when Elswyr drops and the entire world is trying to level Necromancers.

I am staring at a 17 minute queue time for the second day in a row and this is only for the mega low drop rate Lyris style pages.

    Innit.

If only they spent a fraction of their marketing and promotion budget on maintenance and development...

Seventeen minute queue tonight, that froze with two minutes to go - quality. ;)

After so many days I do not care anymore, if there is a queue I don't play, if there isn't I play, simple as that. I know lots of you are like me right now, this queue showed you how bored you actually are with this game. I am no longer upset, I am really happy I play other games now lol, this game was taking so many other games from me. Thank zos :). and I am not being sarcastically, I am only play the game for writs, mount training and event tickets now and I will buy eso+ again soon when all this is over.

ESO+ members, who pay every month, are even with the bots, who never log off.

    Brilliant.

Subscription cancelled (I have not been able to log in for hours now). I will now try every day as f2p and if there are no queues any more for a couple of days, I will re-sub. But maybe cancelling my sub sends a very tiny message to Zenimax.

I have to say, ZOS cancelled and refunded my sub & Elswyr within 30 mins of me raising a ticket on this matter. I think they are very aware that they need to respond appropriately to this issue.

Good thing I have not yet bought Elswyr - was about to do so this day or tomorrow - but not now.

I think to be one of the newbie comin from other games (wow) that filled the queues lately.. In fact i was astonished about the queue we had during the weekend (20 mins approx). I really hope they will fix that.
It's true every game have its problems being not able to access the game is a main one.

Out of curiosity; why did ZOS decide to show a timer rather than a position? When I get a queue in FFXIV it tells me my position which will go down and eventually I'll log into the game.

How can ZOS estimate the time, which I thought depends on other players on the server? Do they randomly kick players to try to meet their estimated wait time? What sourcery do they use?

    That discussion has been closed.
It should have been stickied, embarrassingly at the top of the screen.

    @ZOS_GinaBruno

Read the reason for it being closed. It was replaced with an updated thread which was indeed stickied at the top of the screen.

Hopefully the queues will shorten considerably now that the PTS is open, certainly last evening my queues were only around 2-5 minutes compared to 7-15 minutes on previous days. I've only encountered a few queues in total mainly because I've had less gaming time than usual in the past week but each time I have queued the time estimate has proved accurate.

Not read the entire tread and I'm sure I'm not the first to say this but I just wonder how long the tech people have been trying to explain to the money people that this was a disaster waiting to happen. It's not like server performance hasn't been a recurring topics on these boards.
On the bright side: I haven't had the desire to log on for a couple of weeks now (still sore on the bosmer passive ***) so it's not really affecting me.

What makes me laugh, is that you have the money for more servers, you're just waiting until the last minute, being frugal and that's costing you customers.

How many people are angry because they can't log in? Too many.

How many people (that sick with the log in queues) sit there, look at the thirty seconds, getting all hopeful, then realise they're still on 30 seconds after 5, 10 or even 15 minutes? Too many people.

We pay our money into this game, to try and help it along and so we can get some enjoyment out of it, not so we can spend ages in a queue to log in, when this should have been prepared for, and acknowledged before it became a problem, not now, when you have angry customers cancelling subscriptions and refusing to play the game.

Yes, I am aware games have problems, but actually getting to play the game shouldn't be one of them.

I think it's a fake timer. If you PvP, you are placed in a queue showing the position number on first come first serve.

They don't know the time when someone decides to logout (or crashes 😎). So I think it's fake to give people the feeling so many are playing.

What if the timer runs out and nobody left the game? You are still placed in the game. So I call it fake as there is room enough.

the way ZOS is handling this is rather unsatisfying for us, the players and payers.
Now they don´t show you and me a timer or the place in queue, they just show you an infinte loading screen.
Without debate, there are more players on the server and the queue isn´t that long anymore, BUT to get that done they lowered the performance, low frame rates and the rest are the result, now I wait at any crafting station an eternity till you get an interaction.
My guess, there is no new hardware, just some twitching on the software and that was it.

I'm not sure that's a hidden queue... I was in-game and in Cyrodiil and got 3 5 minute-long loading screens almost back to back. Basically made me give up on Cyrodiil. Yesterday I made a bitter thread about dungeons being laggy and group finder being broken (again). It was closed immediately. Priorities, right?

it wouldve too expensive for a cash grab. i dont know what they did but it was enough for crafters to login into their precious bags which are they paying for thus everybody is happy again.

Well, my login queue is gone, but it seems that the loading screens - when zoning into a house or using a wayshrine in pve - are longer and more frequent.

In pvp I got two loading screens while using the horse simulator within a few seconds and while I was standing on a keep´s wall and doing nothing I got a loading screen, too.

So, what the actual f... did you improve, ZOS?
