Can't understand why some people feel the need for a non functional 'pet' in this game - does absolutely nothing except cause an irritating distraction in open play and group content.
Reckon it's mostly younger/casual players that are afflicted by this irrational compulsion.
Makes much more sense if on display in a house or for role play.

*rolls eyes* I'm 71. Every one of my girls has a non-combat pet. They're cute, they have nifty little idle anims, and I just like them. I also put them in houses, though the limit is rather stringent.
I tend to "match" them to the girls one way or another....
