Do you use non combat pets?

    Yes, almost always.
If I left Flappy at home, she'd just knock everything over-

    Besides, I like her company.

I had a dog for few years and he used to crush stuff as well, when left home alone.
This is clearly the case of you giving more attention to that statue than to your pet.
Pet saw that and tried to replace statue, hoping for more attention from you.

I don't want them to get hurt.
Some of them are very cute.

    Love the Pixie dude.
But having a pet just standing around while I'm ripping through enemies is kind of silly imo.

Tho my crafter has a pet.
    If that counts.

    Yes, almost always.
    Always.

Well, on the rare occasions I'm doing dungeons with anyone other than my guild (who have always said they're fine with it) I'll ask if the pet bothers anyone and it's about 50/50 whether I get asked to put it away or leave it out.

My warden always uses the striped senche-pather, because she's the same character I use in most games and she has a pet panther/other large cat in every game which allows it. (Which is confusing sometimes, in some games it's a combat pet, so every so often in ESO I'm wondering why he's not attacking.)

My other characters each use a subset of my other pets which I think suits them. Sometimes I use the Random Mount addon to randomise them, so the pet changes whenever I change areas, sometimes I disable it and just stick with 1 for a while.

I use the blue coiled winged snake on my Warden main, even if the poor thing is almost never viewable because of my big dumb photo-bombing screen-hogging bear pet. Always liked WoW's windserpents but the lack of landing and endless flapping animations drove me crazy. ESO's winged serpent pets are so much better in design, concept and animations that I had to have one.

Outside of that, I use crown crate reward throwaway pets as housing furniture (for example, every reptillian pet I own as well as good old Beta Monkey are posed to live on trees or furniture in my house).

    Almost never.

The game has some very nice pets but it also has chronic lag / slow loading in any populated area. Every pet adds to that.

And away from towns they don't make sense to me. Even though they can't be attacked, their invulnerability is artificial. I wouldn't want to take vulnerable animals into dangerous places.

Absolutely hate pets in ESO, i'm not a role player..i'm here to clear achievments (PvE dungeons/trials) and to PvP, if i want to play with pets i play with them in real life..just my opinion.

With all the trials I used to run, I kinda got used to not having them on.

If I get a new one that I think looks cool I'll have it on for a bit, that's about it.

Can't understand why some people feel the need for a non functional 'pet' in this game - does absolutely nothing except cause an irritating distraction in open play and group content.

Reckon it's mostly younger/casual players that are afflicted by this irrational compulsion.

Makes much more sense if on display in a house or for role play.

*rolls eyes* I'm 71. Every one of my girls has a non-combat pet. They're cute, they have nifty little idle anims, and I just like them. I also put them in houses, though the limit is rather stringent.

I tend to "match" them to the girls one way or another....

My elf always travels with Kitsune, her Fennec Fox. Always. Not welcome in trials? Easy choice - no trials. Why would she want to play herdball with a dozen characters when she and her vixen can quest or clear dungeons in peace. On her own schedule. At her own pace. While looking in every sack and barrel.

Oh, and I'm neither young nor casual about how I play. ;)

I think I'm actually more likely to use things like this as I've gotten older. I remember being a teenager and being so concerned with trying to be 'mature' and adult that I wouldn't dare show interest in anything which might be seen as cute or silly (although back then my only MMO was Ultima Online and they didn't have non-combat pets, so this specific question didn't come up).

Now I really don't care what other people think of my pets, or anything else I do with my characters. I use the ones I like, because I like them, and leave everyone else to sort themselves out.

In Oblivion, I created a pack of 5 or 6 Skinned Hounds - they had collision with me and each other (it would be unacceptable in ESO), but it looked so epic - and in addition to epic look, they fought for me <3 I doubt that even upcoming Necromancer class will give me better feeling of actually being necromancer than when I command my pack of "undead" dog skeletons :'(

But I don't like non-combat pets in ESO... don't like them following me and not helping me in fight. When I disable pet for some reason, or RaidNotifier bugs out and doesn't re-enable pets after I leave the trial, I often don't notice it for a long time :D Then I'm suddenly like "Wait, where is my cute little snake?.."
Unfortunately developers create very cute pets, and I simply like to observe them - meaning I have to use them... One pet especially warms my heart, and I wouldn't mind having more of them following me together <3We need more varieties of cute little snakes! When I visited Hews Bane for the very first time some years ago, I saw Sep Adders... I looked at those wild critters for a long time and decided: I want to look at them all the time :)

Some screenshots are ruined by pets, but some screenshots are created only thanks to pets
