That being said, it’s certainly not an easy class to play.

The mag sorc is the most hard countered class in the game. If a premade wishes to render a sorc useless, they can do so without sacrificing much. You could go from a 6k+ score with no deaths in a high mmr BG to getting farmed repeatedly against the same bunch.

So i cannot agree sorc is any good in high MMR bg's.

Only if you play it like a pre-murkmire mag sorc.

I did fine in high MMR matches on mine, but i play to kite and killsteal. I wouldn’t try to keep shields up and kill peeps in between shield spam. That playstyle is ded imo.

Well I wouldn't say a class is fine on the account of kite and kill steal. For kill stealing especially you might be a patch too late IMHO.
My issue is not with shields itself but burst damage. Its hard to 100-0 someone with half a brain after the nerf's to fury and frag. I am just racking up too many assists which means a burst class ain't doing what its designed to do !

Once again I would also say any of those games could have easily gone 0-10-0. Its just that my opponents were kind enough not to run certain sets / abilities

Nobody can burst anyone down solo. The High MMR BGs for all classes has become about kill stealing, not killing. They’re about being the third team that hits the other two teams that are already engaged with each other. Sorcs just happen to be the best at it. (Stam sorcs tho)

Magicka Sorcerers are certainly ahead of all other Magicka builds when it comes to securing kills (or stealing someone else's), but in many cases they're still below all Stam classes - Steel Tornado is usually king in this regard. You don't have to worry about accidentally targeting the wrong person/pet, it can't be dodged, and it's common to land multiple kills after a big AOE bomb. And of course that AOE bomb is also set up by the same player(s) that are using Steel Tornado; something which isn't really realistic for Magicka builds.

I'd also have to push back a little against the idea that it's "all about" kill stealing. While that's certainly important, and can sometimes mean the difference between winning and losing, there are also many games that are won through simply being more effective in fights. While Magicka Sorcerers can certainly be more effective than some people seem to believe, I'd still - once again - put them (and other Magicka classes) below Stamina builds. And the more organized a game gets, the bigger this gap becomes.

Any DoT in this game is each 2 secs except those the tooltip clearly states it is not (such as VoB or Thether which are 1 sec ticks).

Bleeds are not different

It`s just that you are always angry about something, both in game and in forums. Often its something you dont know how it works, so learn those things and the actual gameplay & tactics.. so after that there is no need to be so triggered about this and that. It will make the game much better for you. Low stress level is good, it`s supposed to be fun playing, not being that guy who shouts with caps to random group members.

You yourself made this whole thread, expect people to reply to you. It`s conversation about mechanics and we are trying to help you, do not get angry about that too.

Well, i think that anyone becoming a living meme kinda goes to the same cathegory like the whole "it`s better to have a bad reputation than no reputation at all." type of thinking. I tend to skip posts and opinions from such people, because of them lacking real value to conversation.

Hmm, maybe a tiny value of a target to witty comments when in mood for such.

But yeah, hope you someday see the bigger picture in the gameplay and realize many things you see as "wrong" are very much needed mechanics/skills.

I shall now leave this thread, dont think its going anywhere other than your personal venting and how everyone that disagrees with you are wrong.

That's a problem. BG's used to be fun for me while sorc still had burst potential. Now I m delighted to have sorcs on opposing teams. It only means free resources and free kills.

Eric, you know the like only 5 or 6 skills in the game that can kill good players in BGs? Yeah people are mad because they are dying to them. Sub Assault is coutnerable, all you have to do is move, which you couldn't because it looks like you got stunned. You got CCed and thus were subjected to 2 ultimates and hit with multiple burst skills, you don't think that's a legit way of dying?

I know you can play, so you know damn well that if you're attacked by skills that are easy countered, you will counter them and you won't die. The amount of defense, healing, tankiness options available, even outside of busted gearsets like Earthgore, has made it such CC plus mutliple burst is pretty much the only shot someone on a high MMR team is going to die. You've gotten so used to laughing at the pitiful and uncoordinated attempts by inexperienced players trying to kill you that you're getting mad when you die to a coordinated uli bomb.

I played a high MMR last night. This is 15 minutes of deathmatch, no objectives to cap or relics to take, just 100% focus on killing other players. 105-105-60.



If ZOS nerfs all the "cheese" and other stuff people hate like Sub Assault, Spin2Win, snares, etc., such that you can survive when hit with multiple ultimates and multiple burst damage skills, the matches of the sort I was in will be 0-0-0. What will you do then with no death-recap to complain about on these forums? Scream to nerf "healers," right?
