Calling Elitists Out

I'm sorry but your cookie cutter builds aren't impressive. So don't talk elitism to me when half of you have no idea "why" the cookie cutter builds work in the first place. Yes, non-meta builds can hit just as high numbers and in some cases higher, so quit quoting Alcast like he's the one true god of DPS and act like a respectable human being for once. Open minds are richer and have more fun!

My dps is the same 50k as yours with non-meta

[Alcast has good builds, they are a great base to build on. However, they are not the end all one true build answers.]

I enjoy my build and play style regardless of what the meta is. I may not hit the numbers that others hit, and I may not be a PVP god, but I have fun. That's all that matters to me.

I agree. Meta isnt just tied to gear either so long as you get the numbers, why make a fuss?

Most elitists have 40-50k dps. I have been playing for a few years so my skill level is not typical. I also play mostly stamina. You could hit higher with practice, experimentation, and higher CP

I have to say, coming from Xbox to PC, I notice more non-meta builds here on PC...especially bow/bow builds. They have plenty of non-meta builds on console, but I notice far more on PC.

Is this mostly a problem on console? On PC, we just post our dps after boss fights in raids and try to get better. But I guess we're just elitist scum.

My issue is I’m only half way to max cp but more of the issue is lack of sustain. I have to start heavy attacking just to get the resources for my rotation. Sustain on a magsorc blows. Never played the other classes to compare.

If posting your combat metrics parse isn't enough, then there's nothing to do but find a better group. That being said, there is most definitely a meta to leaderboard score runs and the people who do them are constantly changing and adapting what they do to get faster.

Sustain will come easier as you gain experience, its more about balancing your rotation to fit the sustain nerfs.

Even on the leaderboard side I see non typical builds doing really well. Guilds in game are fine but randos and people here are a bit....

I agree, however there isn't just one combination that equates to maximum damage. There are many ways to get the same result.
