Do you think achievement points should be displayable for other players to see?

As long as you can toggle it on/off and can choose if you wanna see other players' achievement points, then I'm fine with it.

Personally don't really that care if you show it, but I'll just turn it off though.

I'm pretty indifferent ... I'd be OK either way.

Some players have done a remarkable job accumulating achievement points. Why not let them show off that hard work?

My crafting main has somewhere north of 16,000 achievement points. That's only half of the total of some of those achievement hunter players. Boggles the mind.

Titles such as 'Flawless Conqueror' say a lot more about skill and experience than any point system could convey.

to have a title that shows you have 30k achievement points would show you are a well rounded player

But it does not show a player is skilled. While CP actually does have a factor and is worthy to be displayed since it is our character level, it does not mean the player is any good. Achievement points mean even less.

I do not think Zos needs to clutter up our display with what is essentially meaningless information and a title for 30k AP is not very meaningful.

Why? what would be the point?

Would it be so you can feel more adequate, as your lacking elsewhere? Be assured, if you had the most achievment points in the game, across all 3 platforms.

The Place by Tony Walsh Please Read
This is the place in the North West of England

It’s ace, it’s the best and the songs that we sing

From the stands, from our bands set the whole planet shaking

Our inventions are legends! There’s nowt we can’t make and

So we make brilliant music. We make brilliant bands

We make goals that make souls leap from seats in the stands

And we make things from steel and we make things from cotton

And we make people laugh, take the mick summat rotten

And we make you at home and we make you feel welcome

And we make summat happen, we can’t seem to help it

And if you’re looking for history then yes, we’ve a wealth

But the Manchester way is to make it yourself

And make us a record, a new number one

And make us a brew while you’re up, love. Go on!

And make us feel proud that you’re winning the league

And make us sing louder and make us believe it

that this is the place that has helped shape the world

And that this the place where a Manchester girl

Name of Emmeline Pankhurst from the streets of Moss Side

Led a Suffragette City with sisterhood pride

And this is the place with appliance of science

We’re on it, atomic, we strut with defiance

In the face of a challenge we always stand tall

Mancunians in union delivered it all

Such as housing and libraries, and health, education

And unions and co-ops, the first railway station

So we’re sorry! Bear with us! We invented commuters!

But we hope you forgive us – we invented computers!

And this is the place Henry Royce strolled with Rolls

And we’ve rocked and we’ve rolled with our own Northern Soul

And so this is the place to do business, then dance

Where go-getters and goal setters know they’ve a chance

And this is the place where we first played as kids

And me Mam lived and died here, she loved it she did

And this is the place where our folks came to work

Where they struggled in puddles, they hurt in the dirt

And they built us a city. They built us these towns

And they coughed on the cobbles to the deafening sound

Of the steaming machines and the screaming of slaves

They were scheming for greatness, they dreamed to their graves

And they left us a spirit, they left us a vibe

The Mancunian Way to survive and to thrive

And to work and to build, to connect and create and

Greater Manchester’s greatness is keeping it great

And so this is the place now we’ve kids of our own

Some are born here, some drawn here but we all call it home

And they’ve covered the cobbles, but they’ll never defeat

All the dreamers and schemers who still teem through these streets

Because this is a place that has been through some hard times

Oppressions, recessions, depressions and dark times

But we keep fighting back with Greater Manchester spirit

Northern grit, northern wit in Greater Manchester’s lyrics

And there’s hard times again in these streets of our city

But we won’t take defeat and we don’t want your pity

Because this a place where we stand strong together

With a smile on our face, Mancunians Forever

And we’ve got this* as the place where a team with a dream (*Forever Manchester)

Can get funding and something to help with their scheme

Because this is the place that understands your grand plans

We don’t do No Can Do, we just stress Yes We Can!

Forever Manchester’s a charity for people round ‘ere

You can fundraise, donate. You can be a volunteer

You can live local, give local. We can honestly say

We do charity differently, that Mancunian Way

And we fund local kids, and we fund local teams

We support local dreamers to work for their dreams

We support local groups and the great work they do

So can you …help us help… local people like you?

Because this is the place in our hearts, in our homes

Because this is the place that’s a part of our bones

‘Cos Greater Manchester gives us such strength from the fact

That this is the place. We should give something back.

Always remember. Never forget. Forever Manchester.

yup, and it shouldn't happen, period. Shouldn't judge people based off numbers in a game. I have a tad over 300cps, but those are all from 3 1/2 yrs ago when I left the game. My skill level when I returned was crap as the game was somewhat "new" to me and I had to adjust. Now that its slowly coming back am I going to be kicked due to low cps, which means f all to be honest? Yes, I am, as it has happened. But that's fine because I agree with the post by @craftycarper73 that all your uberness in this or any other game isn't going to change the fact that you are a "peewee" in real life!! That would be monumentally foolish for even more reasons than judging based on CP's.

If you're going to kick someone because they didn't do enough "deliver loaves of bread to orphans" quests, you're too much an idiot to deserve to be a group in the first place.

AP's as a number offer absolutely nothing about the player, other than enjoyment, or lack thereof, from acquiring mostly meaningless badges.

Nope...will cause kicks just like it did/does in GW2. People judge to harshly off numbers.....

Agree. We already have many people who judge by number of CPs without any logic behind it. Display of number of achievement points will cause even less logical judgment :/
Frankly, I feel like judging someone's ability based off the achievements points they have wouldn't be less accurate than judging by the CP level.

:D Looks like you don't often pug dungeons and trials, and don't know how leveling often goes nowadays. Dolmens, Skyreach, zombie grind in some zones, selling accounts to clueless people... Then you see some max CP clueless dds LFG for at the very least 4 keys :)

Or some high CP guy enters public dungeon and when you're thinking "damn, now we have to fight for mobs and precious loot", he goes into pack of mobs, places down Blood Altar and starts to Uppercut a single mob while other mobs tear the player apart. But I think he felt very effective playing like this in the middle of the dolmen!

Or when high CP guy enters delve in Wrothgar, uses only two skills - Clannfear and Uppercut, and dies to Dwemer spheres cause he doesn't block, dodge and doesn't even know his Clannfear can be used for healing.

Or when CP capped guy comes to dolmen which I was doing solo, and instead of help he just gives me more mobs to deal with and runs around light attacking them with bow and dying few times... No abilities, no Vigor, I don't even know which class his character was <3 Special class born in dolmen zerg

Or when you end up in vet CoH 1 with 3 high CP wardens, and spend most of your time resurrecting them all cause they apparently have just bought their accounts and don't know basic mechanics - even how to resurrect their allies.

Just two days ago I was in Fang Lair with group from finder. "Finally, high CP group! Very nice." - said the tank. I was silent, cause I know that it doesn't mean anything and he shouldn't be so eager to judge :)I usually don't even look at group members; I might only look at their amount of health cause dd with 28k health and tank with 18k health prepares me for adventures :D
...Anyway, the first one who ruined our no death was CP capped magblade with Flawless conqueror title, killed by a wolf on second boss. It was only a beginning! On the last boss he didn't want to even try dodging heavy attacks of Bone Colossi (even after we pointed it out to him) - he was dying to them each time they spawned (if they initially aggroed on him and not on me), was just using shield and running away from them, leading them away from my Endless Hail and Caltrops... I loved the particular moment when magblade run away with Colossus on the other side of room (I'm melee, I had to choose if I want to chase them, or to destroy crystal first - of course I chose crystal to prevent more Colossi), then Colossus started charging his heavy attack and the player did nothing but stand, stare and use his shield... Looks like numbers of his death recaps doesn't teach him anything, or he hopes that his shield is somewhere around 100k!
I can't just leave Colossus alive while resurrecting other dd, this will lead to much more troubles; so I then had to chase Colossus if he decided to go for healer or tank after he killed other dd), at the same time I also had to take care of green bugs which chased poor tank, and only then resurrect the other dd. So when I see crystal is up and Colossi starts to chase other dd, I already know I'm in for a resurrection duty! Hilarious and sad, but there were times I almost decided to slot Inner Fire just to taunt Colossi so other dd wouldn't get their aggro and won't die stupidly :o But it took me some time to think which skill I can replace by this, and in that time other dd said he has to go to bed.

Well, we both dds and healer wanted to sleep already (it was almost 2 A.M. in my zone, and I had to get up for work at 6 A.M :| ), and after stating that in chat I finally left cause the tank still refused to complete it at least in non-HM for 1 key and helm :D
My stamsorc is Flawless Conqueror too, and I still know he can die in dungeons/trials while getting used to mechanics, but I would not go into vet DLC dungeon without at least watching a video and reading some guide to have at least basic idea. The magblade didn't ask any questions and still looked like he was unfamiliar with such crucial mechanics. But I always try look for positive sides even in such sad runs, and this run also had them - it was amazing practice for me, so I finally stopped being afraid of ghost army at the execute phase when we have to carefully watch for breach in their line :) Those ghosts were actually the most harmless thing there and I was somehow naturally passing them without even looking at them - too busy :/

    wRicOaz.jpg

    ""Sigh. Why did everyone die?"

Only once I died to them when they spawned at me right at the wall :D The only really bad thing is I was too angry after the run, and couldn't fall asleep for long time cause of it :(

So high CP means nothing, let alone the number of achievement points. No point in showing them, I actually see no point in showing CPs too. There needs to be disclaimer "The high amount of CPs doesn't always mean high level of skill, manage your expectations accordingly!"

Looks like my post went over your head. Judging by numbers is always pointless, but here, in this case, achievement points, at least, show some sort of dedication. Usually someone mindlessly grinding (the kind of max cp players spamming bow light attacks), will not gather much skill points.

What I meant to say is that achievement points are not less relevant than CP in my opinion. And why not display achievement points if we display CP? We could as well not display anything at all, everyone's scaled anyway...
I'd be for not displaying anything at all. But if I had to choose one, I'd prefer achievement points over CP, even if it's character bound.

Edit: You know what? If it was me in charge CP could be entirely replaced by the account-wide sum of your achievement points (not counting any achievement more than once). Or CP levels would be achievement rewards. So, if you want to be high level, you can't just farm zombies, you would have to clear vDSA, all the worldbosses of a zone, fish all the rare fishes of a zone, and finish all the town quests of cyrodiil. *Evil laughters*

IMO, achievemens should all reward collectibles or rare items. Like 75% of the achievements are just bragging rights, and honestly outside of screenshot of your game, who cares? It would be nice to complete every achievement and have a unique item to show for it.

Player 1: "Hey where'd you get that set item, or that cool looking hat?"
Player 2: "I got it as a reward for the blah blah achievement."

Dyes are okay. Titles are meh. But when I get a collectible or if I could get a rare furnishing pattern that never drops, or a piece of gear that I cannot attain because of game difficulty, I'd play this game FOREVER!
