Alessia bridge to be destroyed!

New outposts coming to Cyro in Murkmire patch as well as bridges being destroyable:)

Cyrodiil Crumbles

Arriving as part of the free Update 20 base-game patch, the shape of the Alliance War in Cyrodiil will undergo a dramatic change with the inclusion of fully destructible bridges and Milegates. Just as you might bring the walls of an enemy keep crumbling down under the withering hail of your siege weapons, you can now completely destroy Cyrodiil’s many bridges and Milegates, potentially blocking off (or certainly delaying) an enemy advance.

Prepare for permanently destroyed bridges and gates and everyone using the goat paths (is that what they called it?) across the Nibben, and tunnels between Nikel -> Ash, Chal -> BLK.

Lunar Quay goat bridge is going to become the new Alesia bridge. Ironic that a heavily-fortified masonry bridge that can now be demolished with siege is being replaced by a very ramshackle wooden bridge that can't be demolished with siege.

Well to be fair, 4+ years of sieging a bridge has now weakened its structural integrity, its bound to collapse at any moment

we haven't had too many changes over the last 4 years or so to the cyrodiil environment...

glad to see zos putting some effort in to that zone..

even after a few years of fighting in cyrodiil, there are still some spots on the map where I've never done battle...

those new outposts are definitely welcomed...

I wish they would have added flags to cheydinhal and chorrol...

it'll be interesting to see how the changes affect gameplay - particularly on some of the lower populated (which is almost all except for kyne and vivec) maps...

you would think this would promote more small scale and less zerging...

I imagine zos is hoping to address some performance issues with having too many players in close proximity to one another...

My prediction confirmed then. Permanently destroyed bridges, since nobody will want to spend AP to repair them.

Thank you for the clarification. While I worry about a lack of incentive to repair bridges, infinite AP is worse by far.

I know on at least one of these bridges that you can go down and cross the water in a short distance without being killed by the fish so no bridge needed.

Can we also make it so that if there is 100 players standing on it it starts taking damage over time?

Those bridges can only handle so much weight you know :)

So the factions will be waiving hi to each other on their side of the bridge...awesome!

I keed, not sure how this will affect Cyrodiil but it's about time they shake things up.

    For the actual repairing, no.
But for the huge battle of getting to the other side of the bridge/milegate, definitely yes :)

Will the destruction of mile gates and bridges cause any excessive performance issues? Should we re-adjust any white-board related memes accordingly?

this will be interesting. i expect to see permanently destroyed bridges but who knows, if the whole bridge is destroyed and perhaps if the river was widened to make it so players cant simply leap across it or swim through without gettin ate. building up bridges may become a part of strategy as would knocking them down.

In other games im all for destructible environments, and here i am too just curious as to what motivation would be to repair the bridges.

Yeah the main Alessia bridge you don't even need to dismount to do an underside crossing. They miiiiight want to rework the geometry of that area. Or just leave it in as a skill check idk. It's unbalanced, but it's cool, so I can't decide.

This is definitely making bridges more essential for travel.
It wouldn't have made any sense if one can just skip them.

Just take the non-destructive routes. It's not like people don't ride around the back to siege keeps any way.
