Ok I read the patch notes for the update tomorrow. The crash on keep destruction fix is good. Is "Fixed an occasional animation memory threading crash." linked to the problem involving freezes in combat that arnt related to the keep destruction crash?

    could be

We are often having to 'lead' someone though a dungeon when all the walls and floors vanish.

I have experienced this also in Summerset bank and increasingly other places when I pan the camera.

We need to be able to see to move... Pretty sure you guys know about this but it is not addressed.

On the first issue, the 'stuttering' occurs worst near that enchanted forest thing in Summerset. The one with multi portals. There's several places like that which should just be deleted from content instead of you guys trying to fix them.

People are joking about removing grass from pvp - in the meantime, remove all the mice and other unnecessary creatures.

if we are basing starting midyear mayhem for when the servers are ready, then it probably wont be held.

pc can hold it right now without a problem console though has its usual issues with rolling fixing patches out unfortunately

It will be interesting to see. That they have not really announced the new dates tells me they are not super confident...

Meanwhile, I stock up on popcorn.

Fixed a crash that would occur during Cyrodiil Keep destruction.
Fixed a crash caused by loading mounts during a load screen, most commonly when loading into a Keep.
Fixed a crash from loading multiple character animations with the same Personality equipped.
Fixed a crash from textures being applied at the wrong time on some assets, most commonly in post-Morrowind content.
Fixed an occasional animation memory threading crash.
Fixed an occasional crash when loading lights or while previewing/placing furniture or pets.
Fixed an issue where your game could crash when loading some fixtures.
Fixed a crash that could occur during an Abyssal Geyser event.
Fixed an issue that would cause the game to become unresponsive.
Fixed an issue that would result in poor performance when mounts are in the vicinity.
Fixed a crash that would occur when previewing items from the Collections UI.

If that's not a shining example of a complete breakdown of QA, I don't know what is.

I think we'll have to wait until later in the day (NA time zones) to be sure. Tonight will be tears...of joy or otherwise.

    FFS.

I probably won’t have a chance to log on later tonight. If you’re freezing outside of prime time, that probably means it’s not fixed, and that Midyear Mayhem will be a nightmare if it goes ahead.

The first time I freeze, I am unsubbing and taking a long break (potentially even quitting, if they don’t fix it). What a waste of time and money.

you gotta look at how many people were on its gonna take a bit for the servers to get use to it again

@DuskMarine It was originally suggested that the freezing started after Summerset launch due to a huge number of new players logging in..
But the freezing was still there long after launch..

In my experience a computer system doesn't 'get used' to load, it can either handle the load or it can't..

youve never dealt with servers where as i have. if a server gets to stressed(which consoles is almost 24/7) it can lead to problems like this happening. they fixed the issues on pc but pcs servers are much stronger than consoles servers. the load pc puts out could kill console servers easily. so yes the servers need to get use to the server load for at least 24 hrs before a verdict can be brought about this and they can take more feedback into account.

LOL, the console servers are the same type of hardware as the PC servers.
They don't stack up a bunch of PS4s.

better built can hold so much more load than console and console specs cant reach what pc specs can yet. its the true difference between the two being hardware. you have to give console time where as pc can run just fine without even thinking. when youve played console long enough on many different games you tend to understand what the problem is with eso currently.

then explain how playstations servers go out for alot longer than pc servers do if their the same hardware?

Playstation servers do not go down more than PC servers they are the same.
You are confusing the current client software problems with hardware problems to begin with.
When you crash or DC the server isn't down the bad code caused your client hardware in this case console to jump program or run out of memory and freeze.

better than 6 months >_> had a dlc litterally locked from ps4 back in my call of duty days they took 6 months to fix even though they had it fixed for xbox and pc in 2 days. so 6 weeks is alot better than half a year. just gotta give the server time to iron out get everyone in and loaded down. tomorrow should be better.

I think if its still not fixed, we need to take things higher.. to Sony, as we pay PS plus for this service..
