My game works fine and i play eso through steam. so idk who's fault it's

Other games may be fine on steam, that's comparing apples to oranges, they are different games
I find it more plausible it's a combination of both but they just keep pointing fingers at each other instead of dealing with the problem
It is an important comparison to make because if many other games were having issues then you could point the finger squarely at Steam. Which is not the case here.

Not necessarily
They are different games with different distribution systems and different coding.
One application/program may get along with another fine but not with a 3rd completely different one

Hallo,
Jennifer
Short version: He contacted the steam support and they blame ZOS.

That is exactly my point....
ESO just had a major update and Steam did not.
That means something that changed in the ESO code is interacting poorly with steam. Thank you for agreeing with me. I will take 1 agree pls.

Yes, but on most of Steam games they are just basically downloaded to the steam folder and just launched from there. I would imagine there is a significant amount of authentication that goes on between the Steam launcher and ZOS before the client is loaded. I don’t think you can compare what goes on with most Steam games as to what is happening when the ESO Steam launcher is activated.
Hmm, I know that you can still run any steam game without steam, through the exec, run it and simply type your account then? if they are linked you must have an @x... account...

Stop ranting and blaming ZOS because you are having trouble with accessing the game through Steam. This makes about as much sense as console people complaining about double-dipping subscription fees because Sony forces them to pay twice to play this game. It's not ZOS's fault you chose a proprietary conduit to play ESO, and now you're getting hosed for that choice. That choice was your choice. The difficulties you're facing are not at all the difficulties anyone else who purchased the game normally through Zenimax have at all.... These are EXCLUSIVELY YOUR problems.
Complain with Steam. Stop distorting the signal to noise ratio here on the ESO forums.
I bought the game in Nov of last year. Yesterday morning I purchased the base game through ZOS that was on sale for $10, using my acct credentials. I am now able to login using the ESO64.exe, and still have everything that I had and can log in either way.

I appreciate that you are trying to help.
What happens with Steam is that it logs you in automatically, bypassing the login screen where you type in username and password. if you use the launcher manually, you get this message:
You can not bypass this or use your account username and password manually if you bought the game after a certain date in 2016. All you get is the error message.
Can someone else confirm that if you are a steam user and experience these recurring login issues, if you login to ESO's website using your account information and purchase the base game that's on sale for $10, it will let you login using the standard launcher or ESO64.exe?

Seriously? Did you have this Steam login problem before and now since you bought the base game directly from ZoS, it went away? Interesting.
