Jeebus, reading through this thread...... i feelz for our console brethren. sigh. So now between recent Steam issues and console problems always, now unplayable for many, I cant recommend the game anymore except to non-steam PC players.

Im sad, because I think its the best game evah (yeah, I know that's debatable)

    Hello everyone,

The patch this week, in large part, contained fixes for crashes, some stuttering, and the 3-6+ second freezes that you could experience almost anywhere you went (you would eventually recover from those). This is not the same thing as when your client freezes due to almost any crash.

Those fixes were addressed and pushed out quickly first, because they affected all platforms and almost all players. That doesn't mean we're done though. We're currently diving deep into console-specific crash reports so that we can knock those out. We're currently debugging/fixing crashes caused by:

-Too many character load requests at once (like in Cyrodiil near a zerg)
-Keep piece destruction, which would likely affect a number of you simultaneously
-Queued loads for mounts that leave your client view by the time they are processed (more likely to happen in Cyrodiil loading into a keep)
-Certain asset textures being applied at the wrong time (more likely to happen in our newer zones)
    -Various animation-related multithreading issues
    -GPU corruption in foliage

And more. Please rest assured, while we don't always comment on posts, we are reading them. And yes, someone does read those comments you submit with crash reports! We definitely understand how frustrating crashes can be, there's nothing worse than having to dashboard your app when you just want to play the game, us included! Thank you everyone for your feedback and patience while we resolve these problems, we appreciate it.

Now this is the kind of explanation i was hoping for now if we could just get a time frame as to when everything will be fixed and hopefully it doesn't take this long in the future to get looked into 3 weeks is way to long this should of been looked into right after summerset was released

Thanks all. :) We appreciate it. Just got a few more details from the team. It sounds like what would help them the most is longer videos along the timestamp(s) of where the issue appears in the video, the character name, and the platform/server.

    Are you serious?

Wait, i have a perfect idea, because i'm a real professional programmer.

1.) Buy a PS4 and a xBox (both seem to be your first ones! ;) )

3.) play the game and just wait

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom invisible players is a problem too, both friendly and enemy. I dont know if they're intentionally glitching or what, but we've seen it on both enemy factions and our own where people rotate their whole combo without being visible. You just take damage from an empty space shooting sparkles at you.

And no this wasn't a nb spamming cheese, had sorc running thru his combo on me that I couldn't see

Thank you! We have had our internal QA team running on the live console servers to capture the issues reported in this thread, and that's one of them. Seeing videos created by players helps us validate that we're seeing the same things, but we definitely have that one captured and are investigating.

So your QA team has been playing on Xbox NA?

Thank you, Alex. This is exactly three kind of specific information I was talking about in my thread about better communication. Posts like this go a long way in garnering support from the community.

While some people may not express their frustrations in the most elopquent or constructive manner, most of them come to vent on the forums because they love the game and are very passionate about it.

@ZOS_AlexTardif this explanation is 2 weeks late is the issue we all take. If you guys had the communication we got today 2 weeks, even 1 week ago, there would be nowhere near as many angry forum goers.

I'm thrilled to read what you guys found and it is greatly appreciated, but why can no one take the 2 minutes to acknowledge theres an issue, and tell us what data you guys need from us when the issue is brought to light? And I'm not talking about a boiler plate response of "we're looking into this". Engage us so you can get what you need and get it fixed quicker. You would have had the needed videos instantly 2 weeks ago to help expedite this

Thanks for the response. I hope you guys are also understanding that the main problem is NOT crashing to dashboard, but -permanently freezing and being forced to manually force quit the game-.
You guys’ continued verbiage of “crashing” made me feel the need to clarify that point, just in case. Don’t want that to go missed by a misunderstanding.

This is true! We are not dcing like we have before but perma freezing. We can still talk in guild chat while frozen. Then we have to close the game and restart it. Sometimes it takes twice to be able to start the game normally. If zos has QA people in cyrodiil, they will experience this.

You promised a better performance with summerset. - - - > We got freezes!

You promised a patch to fix this. - - - > We got freezes with game crash, more lag, more asynchrony and invisible players!

Now you promise another patch. Please forgive me my panic mode, but what will be the next feature we have to deal with?

Maybe you bring Dinosaurs back ‎unintentionally? That would be funny at least!

Please stop patching! You just can not!

Main problem for me is crashing to the dashboard. Only have gotten the perma freeze that i had to manually quit out of once. There isnt one "main problem" they have a ton of things that need to be fixed. Crashes and freezes both...

Someone said you wanted to see videos, it's hard to make them because once you freeze it only records back to your freeze point..... 5x tonight.
But anyway in case you needed proof, it's only 3 seconds long, but you can see all 3 seconds I'm frozen, and you can hear someone talking in the back- and it's not 3-6 seconds, it's forever.. I have to reload the app

Based upon reading these last pages... it seems we are not any closer on pinpointing what is actually causing all of this and no eta for any fixes forthcoming.

    Absolutely fantastic AGAIN!!!!! (irony)

You have few diffrent problems in the consoles 1. Game freezes -> Force to restart console 2. FPS drops awfully low 3. Crashes to desktop and 4) The LAG that has been ignored for couple years now....

...just hire some Q&A people that actually can PLAY the game... these problems aren't hard reproduce.

Start console -> Start Game -> Enter Cyrodiil -> Play...
