Really disappointed there's been no zos response explaining how the queue is intended to function.

What I’m seeing atm is that all the top EU players have resorted to playing their alts cause the queues on their mains are too long. And forget about grouping. You try to make a premade on your mains and you’re looking at upwards of 40m queues. Such a shambles.

I’ve said it before. You can’t have queues longer than the games. Can’t spend more than half your time queuing. It’s criminal. Max game duration is 15 mins. After 10-12? mins in the queue the MMR needs to back the f... off and let you into the next lobby whether it’s against Muhammad Ali or Ali G. I don’t care.

This needs to get sorted pronto, cause we can’t be rolling a new toon every 2-3 weeks just to be able to get into BG games.

Generally speaking your assessment matches my experience. However I notice everytime I step away from the game for a few weeks and return my matches are full of very weak players initially. I rack up some high scores before being chain pitted against one of the standard premades on console. This leads me to believe there is some sort of decay in MMR.

Maybe... but I notice you're on Xbox? So unless I'm mistaken, you've only been dealing with the new MMR system for 2 days now.

I got like 4 matches in 6 hours last night on a mageblade that I’ve gotten to pvp rank 20 just from BGs. I missed 1 queue because I was in the other room tho.

Yeah in a sense, it’s the character I’ve played the most on since bgs dropped, was originally a magplar.

Should also note that 3/4 matches I was 3/4/4 against 2 pre-mades. In the fourth match we had 4/4/4 the whole time but I’m certain there was at least 1 4 man pre made

I've been solo queuing on multiple characters most days for the past weeks for the rewards. The solo queue is usually the same for my magsorc who has 300+ bgs done and my other characters who have less then 20 each. Queue time is usually no more then 3 minutes.
Queued up with 2 friends last night on characters that are hardly in BGs and played two games at about 5 minute queues each.
Haven't had the 1 hour queues anymore but I havent played bgs with my regular pre-made since then either.

Yes the new system I have only seen for a couple days. However the old system also appeared to work on some sort of MMR basis though not openly shown. Easiest way for me to get an easy match was to invite one of my guildies that never PVP's to group with me, this resulted in a string of easy matches.

I get into nothing but premades.
I tend to come with a few pve buddies who arent practiced if im not solo queing. And i solo q a ton. Nothing but premades. As far as the eye can see. Im at around 5-10 min wait times. Which is odd considering ive made gold rewards for months, well over 1k matches.


Edit: Pre summerset id only get premades too... come to think of it. Im constantly solo qd against grouped top tiered players, it leaves little room to improve one's self.

@Thogard Queues on console (PS4 EU here) have been terrible; much worse than they used to be when Morrowind launched where they were bugged anyway.
Me and my guild mainly play BGs when we play ESO. We have played countless of games on our mains.
Today I played 3 matches in 5 hours and yesterday 4 matches in 6 hours. My guildmates are having the same issues.
We have tried solo , 2 man groups and 4 man groups (random queues, deathmatch queues and even flag queues) and nothing changes. Quickest queue I've had is 40 minutes waiting time and it was 10pm UK where many people are in.
I think their system takes into account how many games you have played on a character , cause I cannot explain it in any other way. People i spoke with who played with alts had much quicker queues.
I bet people on other servers are experiencing the same issues with the characters they've played many BGs with. It feels like the game is punishing us for having played many games.
This needs to be fixed ASAP; there are people who mainly play BGs in the game and now they simply can't unless they wait for approximately an hour.
I do not know who to tag in here , but the devs need to look into this immediately.

Thank you very much for posting and for including your data. My conclusion is similar to your own - so far the only variable we can isolate and say with full confidence is # of games played.

Do you or anyone else know a dedicated healer in a 4 man with a low K/D? I’d be curious to se what their solo queue times are like. I want to rule out K/D as a variable.

@Thogard I know a few healers that had similar issues with me when trying solo. The problem is that I am not sure that their K/D ratio is low since they have used dmg setups from time to time as well, despite from the fact they main healers. Unfortunately, my data here is pretty limited to have a conclusion.

However, a random guy I see in BGs who has been playing a 40k health dk tank the past few months (so definitely low K/D) told me that his queue times were bad as well (25mins approximately). I don't know him well though, so he might be exaggerating.

If I see around any of the BG dedicated healers who I've seen in opponent teams the past months I'll ask them.

Second day of the update, logged in for 45 minutes and never got a queue on my mageblade. Tried to switch to my magplar(least used character that’s properly geared) and decided to give up after another 20 minutes.

I have to say bg's have been super not fun lately, I feel pretty discouraged from playing at all. I wait 30 minutes in queue only to be put in a team of 3 versus two full-stack cancer premades running a healbot and guard and Time Stop.

And when I finally do get in one that seems to be all PUGs, every gd mother is running Sload's and Spin2Win builds or spamming Fury executes at you from the bushes. Damage is so high that most times someone dies within 2-3 seconds of engaging even 1v1. It's stupid. What is this Call of Duty?

Firstly, if you queue solo, this asinine MMR wait penalty SHOULD NOT APPLY @ZOS_BrianWheeler - get it freaking fixed. Your system was crap before but you've taken it to a whole new level of terrible.

Secondly, just SEPARATE the gd queues already. One queue is for solo and groups of 2, the other is for premade groups of 3 and 4. They should never mix.

IT IS NOT THAT HARD ZOS. Please.

Just did a 3 man premade with my 2nd most bgd toon, my wifes first and second bg ever, and my budder who is a console rerole and under 50 games played.

Gilliam was solo q'd on the other team on a toon hes never done bgs on b4 with 2 sub 250cp players.
3rd team was a full premade 2 shotting everyone.
We got them twice in a row, my wifes never seen a bg b4. Great job zos.

I've probably bg'd more than most people on XB NA, and I certainly have one of the highest k/d's on the server. This patch getting into games solo usually takes around 8 minutes on my main, however I almost always end up against two teams of 4, with very weak players on my own team. During the off hours i end up waiting around 15 to 20 minutes on average.

We had a practice of resetting the que every three minutes when it didn't pop as of last patch, however that doesn't seem to work at all anymore. It seems resetting it just yields the same wait time.

Edit: all of this is irrelevant though since half the games are unplayable due to long load screens mid game, extreme lag, invisible players, and floating corpses that can kill you and can't be targeted.
