Whats a "true" height of Wood Elves?

No one can seem to decide on how tall Wood Elves are. In Morrowind they were short, as were they in Oblivion. The in Skyrim theyre suddenly as tall as everyone else. Now back in ESO, theyre back to being short. But theres in-game books describing Wood Elves as tall.

Why does Bosmer Height fluctuate so much?

Tiny adorable bosmer that you can pick up and hug are the best bosmer. I am a lore enthusiast but imo I wouldn't mind bosmer being retconned to being smol

They probably took a course in proper meat-only nutrition at the same college where khajiit learned to wear shoes :p Or maybe they just mated with a lot of Nords / Altmer between ESO and Skyrim :)

Everyone in Skyrim was the same height. That's what happens when developers get lazy and throw everyone into a black box. I remember many complaints about the height slider not working correctly and everyone was the same height.

Considering Skyrim is the odd game out in your list, Bosmer = short.

My Bosmer is as short as the slider allows, and I still feel she's a bit too tall. Just a few centimeters.

No matter. She's doing just fine.

I love standing next to Altmer females. She can stand under one during the rain and not get wet.

I'm guessing if skyrim is the odd one out i'd say skyrim was wrong..

I've always seen them as halflings of ESO... That said i can make humans and dunmer as small.. So i think ESO is out of sync as well.

Personally think they should be as small as banekin.. then i'd only play bosmer permanently.

they are a bit short but far from halflings.
banekin would make them smaller than WOW gnomes why was tiny, to give them the same walking speed as others with the short legs they had to do lots of steps in an second.

Traditionally, Bosmer are 0.9 to 0.98 of a 1.0 (Imperial's, Dunmer's, etc.) height. So from almost a man's height to a head shorter, roughly.

Races vary in height in Skyrim, but less so than in other Elder Scrolls games, and all races are scaled to 1.0 height when using furniture with the RaceToScale keyword. The first-person camera is the same height across all races.

Other racial heights you may not have noticed: Breton and Khajiit women are rather petite, being 0.95 height. Argonian men are taller and burlier Dunmer men, at 1.03 height and 1.05 weight (compared to a Dunmer's 1.0 height and 1.0/0.95 weight -- comparing Morrowind to Oblivion).

Obviously during the events of Skyrim the Aldmeri Dominion has returned and so the Thalmor had been experimenting on the Bosmer to increase their height in order to make them seem "equal" to the supposedly inferior humans.

isnt eso the oldest game ( date wise)? and skyrim latest game? so all this time they were short but in skyrim they got taller which is the results of interbreeding maybe?

Bosmer women have consistently been set to 1.0 height in every Elder Scrolls game starting with Morrowind, the same height as Khajiit and Breton men, Imperials, Dunmer, and Argonian and Redguard women.

Bosmer men, on the other hand, started out as .9, the smallest playable character. In Skyrim they were scaled up to .98, still shorter than women but making Breton and Khajiit women the smallest playable character in the game at .95.

Hard to say what their "actual" height in ESO is, but it seems to be consistent as far as women being taller than men goes, as it should be.

Just going by my personal opinion / viewpoint here, but this is how I see them

    Bosmer: around 4'6 to 5'6

    Khajiit: around 5'4 to 5'10

Imperials, bretons, dunmer, argonians, redguards: typically around 5'10 to 6'2

Nords and orcs: around 6'0 to 6'6

    Altmer: around 6'4 to 7'

Obviously there are always exceptions or variations.

If the Silvenar represents the shape and health of the average Bosmer, there must be a bunch of tiny Bosmer men in Valenwood.

Everyone in Skyrim was not the same height. Bosmer are still very short in TES 5. Unless you're talking about the first person perspective, then yes everyone appeared to be the same height. But hey, there are mods for that.
