For those talking about people wanting to have things handed to them, I’d like a relaxing crafting experience handed to me. I’d like competitive flower picking to be written out of the game. This is paid entertainment, not an unpaid internship.

what does real life have to do with fantasy? This is a false equivalency.
There is tons of cancer in the real world and the only one in ESO are the cyrodiil Sorc shield spammers.

See, I use to wander around picking flowers for hours for fun in TES IV: Oblivion...
So I love farming reagents to sell in this game.

if it take 800 to upgrade, then most likely they wouldn't sale very well. since most people can't afford such thing. i mean think about it, upgrade an elite gear to gold require 8 gold material, which is why gold material are sort after by most people. but it take 800 gold material to upgrade one piece of gear.. i doubt many people would even consider getting them..
if you like grinding, you may.. but just know that if it require too much you wouldn't be able to sale much as most people wouldn't bother with it. it is so much easier to just do trial and farm gold jewelry directly.

It takes 80 to upgrade. 800 was someone's typo.
Besides, my point was that I liked farming even when I didn't get much in-game gold for it. I find farming in ESO to be extremely relaxing and its one of the reasons Ive stuck with ESO for this long. To each their own.

If you really need 80, and not 8 stones to upgrade from purple to gold, this is ridicolously insane.
If the gold tempers drop as often as with refinement, then it's already a rare enough drop.
Moreover, only a small proportion of the population is able to complete Veteran Trials to drop yellow jewelry they might deconstruct for the materials.
This number is further reduced by the fact that only people with Summerset can decon.
Basically, you don't have more materials in the market than with other crafts, you have even less and you need ten time the materials to upgrade one ring.
It's insane.

Oh boi, something I want is gonna be grindy. But hey, I will make threats to Zenimax, that I will stop playing the game. That should help.

Not a threat, just how i feel, i go through periods where i get tired of the game and have to take a break, last time it was after they introduced housing, i didnt like that they did it instead of other things. I eventually come back, but i get cranky and tired of the grind, but after a few months off i start to get the itch again and normally by that time what i disliked is normally fixed.
The patch notes today says they increased the seams in game, so they are listening, most likely not to me, but to everyone whos upset. Honestly i miggt just need a break again, because this is just a game, and no reason to stress or get upset.
So they've finally come up with a profession that takes some real effort and time to master? Thank the gods for that!
MMOs are meant to be played for years, not weeks or even months, so why people don't understand the need to stretch skill mastering out over a long period of time is something I've never understood.

All you people saying that jewelry crafting is fine with 10x extra grind should be advocating it for all crafting lines. Leveling up enchanting should take longer right?

MMO devs twisted your mind with nonsense over the years right ?
if the GAMEPLAY and CONTENT is fun people then will play it for years even if there are no super Long Grinds in it ...
Summerset seems boring with very litle content so they trying to Push the longevity with This Grind...
i played enough MMOs to see this...
and what "Time and Effort to Master" are you talking about ??? this is just damn Jewel crafting for crying out loud... not some Dungeon with realy hard Bosses or some new PvP game mode or a NEW class with complex Mechanics....
its just Jewel crafting... this grind is nothing else just pure Time wasting right now...
