I played beta for 1 or 2 hours.
And this monkey is ugly, not cute.

I participated in the last three or four rounds of closed beta. I remember struggling to like the game my first time through, playing an Altmer Dragon Knight barbarian, until I hit Cyrodiil--and then I could go in any direction without worrying about level, just like in the singleplayer games. At that moment, any hesitation I had about the game vanished.

I enjoyed it then, and I enjoy it even more now. The game has gotten better in almost every way (or at least, it has for my playstyle). Of course, if this wasn't the Elder Scrolls, I probably wouldn't be here... =P

Me. I was in the closed beta beginning in Nov 2013. It was lots of fun, but I prefer the way the game is now.

Played beta. Imo felt more like a es game in terms of the combat, since it was harder and more hybridized, but nowhere else, the game was missing so much in the world, and 1T/TG fixed that stuff.

The spirits outside stonefalls were bugged too from so many trying to complete the quest same time . Also lots of holes in terrain and bottomless Pitts there .

I've played on and off since Beta - play hours every day for a month or so, quit and leave for a few months, repeat cycle. I mostly use the monkey pet when I start a new character because I got tired of people assuming I was new and didn't know anything.

Yes, here since beta. I signed up Jaunary 2014. Probably spent most of it stuck underneath the fighters guild steps in Vulkhel Guard (remember that bug???). Which is actually the reason I hate most elves and the AD.

Personally I kind of liked the beta more than the actual game. I remember when it felt like an actual accomplishment to beat a dungeon or boss, and the game wasn't 75% RNG. Oh and the races being in certain factions made sense, we didn't have a bunch of orcs and nords running around the AD area. When we thought our race choice would actually matter.

yeah me too, i played the beta, didn't play at all after release, kinda hated it then came back a year ago

Played during the end phase of the beta.

Game was too buggy and unbalanced so i waited a half year and it was still quiet a mess.

Also everyone who says 1.6 was balanced and better what we got right now is a lier who just want to steamroll everything which the game offers with his copy paste you tube video.
Especially getting rid of dynamic ulti regen was a good change and i say this as dk...well stam dk and stam was garbage during the first year of eso.

My bow dk was using burning talons because the scaling was wack and even with everything into stam burning talons ate adds alive. I remember thinking I would use talons to kite and control players trying to kill me. I was so naive then.

You needed to collect the reward before doing the transfer, it said as much in the email. I hadn't logged into ESO in a couple months when the xbox client was released, I logged in just to get my rewards out if the mail and my crowns before I transferred to xbox.

wait holy *** I was thinking about mentioning that, I probably have on the forums before. On the last day at the end of our time everyone in the AD zone gathered on the boat and danced. Somebody had that PVP skill that puts a buble around your proximity and someone else was throwing Templar healing ult.

I never in a million years expected to meet someone from such a random moment in my life. We had a ton of people on that party boat. I remember grouping with like 3 people because the toad race quest was bugged and we kept our group together questing until people in chat asked everyone to come to the boat for end of beta party.

So amazing to see you mention this. I'm literally in tears.

Yep. I remember for a few years before the game released, me and some others would watch ShoddyCast's series on ESO, grabbing any little tid bits of information and hyping like crazy. It's mad to think that was over 4 years ago

Played the beta for a bit but didn't care to buy the game until Feb '16, bc my rig was so absurdly bad it couldn't really handle the game. I missed to register on the forums until even later. So what I'm really interested in: was this forum always full with salt like it's now or did this developed when the game lost it's sub-to-play status?

In my experience every forum for nearly every game is the same. General idea is that if they didn't have anything to complain about, they would be playing the game, not posting on the forum.
