How many beta guys are on here?

I'm wondering how many of y'all are beta players, have the cute little beta monkey. What's y'alls thoughts on ESO back during the beta, launch, and now. When was your favorite patch, DLC, etc..


Personally I kind of liked the beta more than the actual game. I remember when it felt like an actual accomplishment to beat a dungeon or boss, and the game wasn't 75% RNG. Oh and the races being in certain factions made sense, we didn't have a bunch of orcs and nords running around the AD area. When we thought our race choice would actually matter.

The rest of the races ~ Beta. I do not know the feeling of BETA races. Nords&High Elves

My favourite type of food is Argonian kidney, the fear adds a bit more spice..

Played in beta. Could not really get into it, as I had no way to reliably play the game, my hands do not like the keyboard and mouse setup. Got better in February of the next year though, found xpadder and the in June when they added native controller support for the pc.

Also argonian master race, before they were meta.

I played beta. All I really remember is everything being buggy, the absurdly expensive horses, and being confused as to why I couldn't see my friend who made a Redguard.

I got it for PS4 day one. When IC was brand new it was amazing. Big groups, deadly enemies, high risk and high reward.

I fondly remember beta and large battles with minimal lag and a lot of fun. But people didn’t have all the gear or skills so hard to say it was better. It was just new and unknown.

I really think the game might be better now than ever, but it’s just not new so I can’t tell when the rose colored glasses have been thickest. I seemed to have the most fun right before the CP system

Murcrabs were the the real bosses. Now though my monkey sits in the bar inside the palace. Come a long way from days of slaying....I mean dying to murcrabs on sandy beaches.

Beta had all the wonderful and beauteous zones we've grown to love, but none of the fabulous systems that came with launch. I didn't get super far in the beta but it was absolutely leagues behind where they've brought the game since. Huge improvements like the One Tamriel level scaling, newer things like the outfit system, and old improvements like the dye system are really absolutely defining features of ESO. There's plenty to criticize, don't get me wrong. Gambling boxes, the steady creep of item count to the point where it's unreasonable to expect to learn every recipe yourself, that kind of thing. But we still have it way better than before.

I do miss the difficulty level of pre 1 Tam but that being said it was nice when I played on PS4 for a bit with a friend...I think there should be places that 1 tam doesn't work like Craglorn

played Beta, loved the game enough to preorder it and i don't know what happened between beta and live exactly but... I played for couple of weeks in live and quit. didn't come back until game went b2p, left again for a bit, came back few months before one tamriel and stayed for good. still have my beta monkey and preorder scuttler though

Due to a combination of only being invited in the last round of play testers, plus a heavy work schedule, I got to play in the beta for only the last 3 hours before they closed down the server. I barely got to explore Senie and participate in the final naked dance party at the Davon’s watch fountain before being kicked. I like the freedom that One Tamriel gave us for adventuring in all of the zones, but have to admit that I miss the tension of gathering skyshards in Bangkorai on a level 4 character. I think I like the Morrowind expansion best, probably due to the nostalgia factor since TES 3 was the first Elder Scrolls game I played, and I really enjoyed discovering the parallels between the two games.

Those were the days before One Tamriel and leveled zones. So, you could go to Alik’r as a level 8 if you wanted a steep overland difficulty.

I noticed only one other who was also here since 2013 (according to my profile account page...) However. I've only been on the forums since 2014.... Any orcs running around Auridon are killed on sight... I think I renamed my monkey, "Bonzo..."

Here since beta. Rage quit deleted the game to months later reinstalled cycle x 4 times since then but somehow I am still here.

Been there, done that, got the monkey. I really appreciate One Tamriel because I hated not being able to explore the whole world. I loathed Cadwell's Silver and Gold. However I do miss the vampire and werewolf quests being HARD and Doshia's name being spoken with fear and trembling!

In Beta I was EP and Argonian . That way I wouldn't feel bad after the character was wiped .

I am a "Beta" I do not engage in proper honourable melee duel within pixel world. I slay foes from afar. I am a coward. Ultimate BETA.

Reflections on the past or what could have been is a waste of energy. Focus on the future. Emotion will add to you step. Nostalgia shall consume you.
