[Major Oversight] Summerset Tutorial Missable Skillpoint Feedback

I'm not sure if anyone has done the math but after rolling a new character for the first time in a long while (on live) I think you miss more than a couple of skill points. You get bonuses on the skill adviser and sometimes get 2 or 3 skill points at a time just for hitting level markers like level 5 and 10. I don't remember my launch characters getting this treatment, but it has been 4+ years since then. Oh and that is just skill points, what about a free horse at level 10, I had to roll a new character just to get that particular horse unlocked, or the free crown store items you get along the way.

I think I'm more miffed that my older characters don't get to do the full intros of the new content that comes out.

When they first started to introduce changes they at least attempted to go back and give old characters what they would have earned had the system been in place when they were created for example starting amount of CP when they changed from the VR system based on how many characters you leveled to Veteran Rank.

I also want the Chapter intro quests to be available to characters. The Summerset one does play a much greater role in the plot than the Morrowind one - but regardless we should be able to see the little cut scenes and do the quest and get the rewards:)

PS: it isn't Mephala who traps you, it is another baddie who you don't meet until much later in the main quest (but it does talk during the tutorial)

I know, I'm too lazy to edit but I can't exactly reveal it until tommorow since NDA

isn't the skillpoint already in the psijjc order skill tree?

I know that's lazy, but they do give you the first passive when you get the skilline unlocked. That might be the compensation.

It's not, summerset and morrowind characters still get it for free

Major Bug? Nah. Potion Cooldown glyphs or the Concentrated Barrier passive - these are major bugs. A missing skill point is in the category „nice to have“.

It would be nice if everyone could do every one of the 3 intros but 1 skill point is not a major bug

I agree with some of the others: this isn't a major bug - well, this isn't a bug to begin with. This is at most a flaw in the design, how severe, well it is up to you. I think this isn't a severe flaw, because it is a single skill point, which the older characters misses. Newer characters can get a "vanilla tutorial" skillpoint + a chapter tutorial skill point but the older characters can only get the vanilla tutorial skillpoint.

There are several ways ZOS could fix this flaw, for example give older characters a skill point. If you take a skill point away from characters who have completed both tutorials (chapter+vanilla), they could have negative amount of skill points - not a good option. IMO the least damaging options for this are:
    - give everyone access to every single tutorial there is (if they have access to the chapter)
    - give older characters a skillpoint
    - give older characters access to a single chapter tutorial.

Leaving it as is means older characters miss a single skillpoint, which doesn't make or break the build and is a minor annoyance to completionists. Others do not starve from skill points, really.

I can understand that people are annoyed, I can understand people want this corrected...

But calling this a major bug is just ridiculous... it is not a major bug. It’s an oversight, a flaw, little annoyance, but that’s it.

True, doesn't make or break a build but is annoying

There is always not enough. There are so many fun non-combat passives, which are ignored due to lack of skillpoints... Until you have all of them taken dont say "one dont need more skillpoints"

I never understood your obsession with this, its one skill point when we already have tons of extras available. why does it matter?

Completionism, and you don't tell me what I do or don't need, it's up to me to decide. Sorta ironic your complaining about my complaining.

The extra skill points you get now when leveling to fifty at certain markers are to make up for the fact we used to get 1 point for each vet level. When they took vet levels out, they kept the amount of skill points we had the same and just worked them into the 1-50 leveling by giving extra at certain points.

The only skill points we miss out on now are the skill points you get from doing new intros with MW and I'm guessing SS by this thread.

Only one though, cause new characters can only do the MW OR the SS tutorial, so the difference will alwyas be only 1..

I pre-ordered Morrowind and Summerset Collectors Editions, but my main character that was created before these DLC is unable to do the intro quests AND can’t get the extra skill point(s). The fact that the devs don’t even seem to care is just *** infuriating and insulting. This should be an easy fix if they even gave a damn about their customers/players.
