Right now, I wear costume. But, I played with the outfit system, came up with great outfit, but TOO pricey. Maybe I'll just do outfit weapons to go with costume, until I have more gold.

Right now, neither - just my armor. Once I get enough motifs I might make an outfit.

Still haven’t made an outfit. It’s clunky and time consuming. I do like that we can still dye things. So as long as hundings remains a reasonable option, I’d rather just craft 5 pieces. I don’t mind the shoulders and I always hide helmet anyway. Sometimes I wear a hat or the dark brotherhood costume.

Outfits since they also seem to incorporate your non armor gear like hats.

I experimented a bit yesterday and was impressed with how easy it was to mix and match items and make a really unique look.

Costumes are cool but you end up with a one in a dozen look instead of a one in a million look.

Lately I've been sticking with one of the quest costumes because I really like the way it works with my character's markings. At some point I may change it, but for now it really fits the aesthetic I was going for anyway.

Currently a costume because it offers something I've not been able to replicate well in the outfit system.

That being the ordinators metal armour with skirt look, I found some close but not what I wanted.

    Like the ordinators nightraid costume?

    Outfit
    Outfits.

First off, I just like creating them and it's somewhat more unique.

Most of the costumes they've put out are more like clothing than armored looks aside from a couple options, so if you want to make your character look armored up, even a little, you have much more choices now.

I have 12 guys in outfits and have tweaked them way too often and spent too much gold lol, and I have 3 guys in costumes - my crafter is wearing one of the common pants/jerkin costume looks, and my bosmer wears the elven hero and my warden wears the warden costume. (And really I made outfits for them, I just prefer those costumes at this point for them).

The costume is free with a fresh lvl 20 and has no outfit or dye cost associated. LOL?

Okay, I feel like this might sound stupid, but I'm going to share it anyway....

For my low levels, they wear either regular armor or an outfit because I'm afraid if they are in a costume, I'll forget to upgrade their armor when it needs to be upgraded. It's easy for me to forget about something I don't see right in front of me.

For my CP characters, I feel they have earned a costume. But now that we have the outfit system, I dye their weapons. Plus, I don't normally buy dye stamps since I have ESO plus, but I like to get the holiday ones. My Templar is currently sporting the Dark Seducer costume in shiny pink! :p

Costume until they give us the option to hide other slots in the outfit system other than helm. I'm tired of playing football with the shoulder pads in this game and most costumes do a good job of not forcing you to look like your in the NFL.

I've made outfits for most of my alts now, though for my main it's just dyed weapons and alternate shoulders since I already crafted her gear to look exactly how I wanted. (I think I did goof and pay to dye her armor trim a brighter gold, as she was my first one outfitted and when I was getting close to done there was a 10 minute warning for a server shut down so I sort of rushed).

But the outfits are all field combat gear, practical stuff, and I'm not going to spend crowns on extra outfit slots so long as they are so pricey and so character bound. So if I want to wear town clothes, costumes become the go-to. I have a variety of costumes that fit the personae of each alt.

    And why?

I normally run 4-8 outfits per character in MMORPGs. Usually something like 3 sets of clothes (casual, formal, and "discrete/espionage"), 3 sets of armour (PvE exploring/adventuring, PvE grouping, PvP), and a couple for extreme environments (desert, arctic). And ESO has the best dye system and the best outfit system of any MMO I have ever played.

But... with 16 characters in ESO (8 on NA and 8 on EU), that would cost me about $1,736. LOL... No.

In SWTOR so far it has cost me... $0 to have that many Outfit Slots unlocked. Though if I had spent real-world cash instead of in-game coin it would have cost me something like $16.80.

It's amazing that ZOS has managed to be 10,333% more greedy than bloody freaking EA.

If ZOS charged something even remotely close to EA for account-wide Outfit Slot unlocks, I would buy 4-8 today. As it is, I will never buy one, though if I had 15-20k ESO+ crowns laying around I might unlock one more for my main.

So... instead I have one outfit per character while sometimes wasting time designing new outfits before canceling out of them. And the rest of the time I have a couple of costumes quickslotted and a disguise (or four) in my bag. Being able to dye the costumes has been great!

I really wish the disguises in-game would convert to costumes when you completed the quest.

I wear one of the disguises that is offered in a quest. I don't buy/dye individual costumes...not my thing. I think the disguises provided in questing (wear this disguise to get past the guards/outlaws) gives nice options.

For me it is mostly outfits, but for a few of my toons their are perfect costumes so thats what are in.
Also I dont like spending much gold on low lvls I'm not sure will make the cut so they get costumes until they earn enough gold on their own to warrant an outfit cost! Plus at that point I know if they are sticking around or being rerolled
