I sometimes use a costume, but since the update on the xbone all I've done is change my weapons and head gear. And dyed my weapons. Out of the motifs I have, I still prefer the daedric, so that's what I show

Outfit during gameplay for looks. Costume when I want to show my guild on my Nameplate but want to hide my guild tabard.

more or less the same, except I tend to go for various costumes during the gameplay as well, depending on the mood. I would possibly wear outfit more if you could hide tabard with it.

yes, yes, guild pride and all, but tabards are gigantic, clash with most outfits and most importantly cover up the best parts of the chest pieces. being able to display guild name without being stuck with whatever tabard appearance your guild decided on - honestly should be baseline.

ETA: In case that was too subtle, it's my way of saying; Ye gods but this outfit system is pricey. Bring it down a bit and I'll be happy to participate or account wide or something. 'Til then, I'm clutching my pennies.

Costumes. The outfit system looks great, but I would change outfits often, needing one or two more slots per character. (I’m creative and I love variety). But since there is no way I am paying 1500 crowns for each extra slot, I’m not using the outfit system at all.

Even the in-game gold prices for making an outfit or changing it are too high, especially for those of us who aren’t rolling in gold.

Prior to Dragon Bone update I mostly wore costumes for 2017-2018

Took long breaks off and on 2015-2016

    For 2014-2015 it was gear

I’m honestly in a place where I’d much rather just spend the money on a new gaming PC and play a whole diff game as the way they monetize this stuff is end up spending a few hundred. I’m already spending too much each year. I think 2014-3015 was approx $200-$300/year

I’m not getting that value out so being they decided to charge for every little feature update or lock some behind subscription paywalls and limited time crown purchases.....I’m considering just walking away

They still plan to announce a chapter this year and that’s not going to be free or via crowns so....paying to dye in gold and forced to buy additional outfit slots via real money or real money sub for dyes to costumes I also must buy....geeez

All my characters but two wear costumes.

One character (a mule) is wearing a mix of civilian clothes.

The last character (my theoretical "main"), just wears armor because 1. she's wearing a rare-drop non-motif chestpiece that I can't get in the outfit system, and 2. the rest of the obvious gear is crafted anyway, so no need for outfit.

It really depends. Say I am doing some quest, depending on the quest a costume can feel more fitting. Like Dark Brotherhood or Thieves Guild armor, during a DB or TG quest. But 90% of the time outfit wins.

My Warden however, shall always wear the Warden costume. Doubt I can find anything that suits a Warden better.

I don't get the outfit system to work. Or I missed something. Probably a combination of both.

But when I tried to play around with it i ended up with a bill i surely won't pay for cosmetics (even if its just gold we talk about). I wasn't aware that the first outfit already charges one - or i did it wrong. Whichever may be true ... personally I find it to complicated to be fun. ;)

Played with the outfit system a bit on a couple of characters. I think they did a great job with it, but I have a "look" established with each of my characters and I don't really want to change them.

What I would like to see as a new feature is the ability to combine costumes and outfits. So if I want to wear gauntlets with my corseted riding costume or wear a different helmet with my Shaman costume I can.

Both, plus my actual armour and on occasion stolen clothing.

I buy costumes which look like normal clothing, so normally my characters wear their armour or outfit when exploring or in combat situations and a costume in town. I do have some armour costumes I got from free crown crates, level rewards and with other things (like the thieves guild and dark brotherhood costumes) but I don't use them as much.

Because I mainly use armour I crafted myself there's pretty much no difference between what I can do with armour and what I can do with outfits, so I've struggled a bit to find a use for the outfit system. On some characters I've found a purpose for it, like putting low level racial motifs on a high level character or vice versa. But on others I'm basically just using the outfit slot as an alternate armour style so I can switch between the two as I feel like it. But it's a bit limited compared to the systems I'm used to in other games and it's still taking some getting used to.

I'm looking forward to when they start allowing us to unlock more styles than just the existing motifs so there will be more of a difference between outfits and crafted armour.
