They really do need to make dyes look more uniform though now with this new outfit system. It can be tricky getting colors to match when your mixing weights, and motiff styles now.

Currently a costume because it offers something I've not been able to replicate well in the outfit system.

That being the ordinators metal armour with skirt look, I found some close but not what I wanted.

I still prefer costume cos I just don’t want to wear shoes and gloves on my toon, and only costume can do that.
I prefer running around barefoot in dungeons, unless I can also hide shoes and gloves.

It's easy. Just put it on and Walla....

The outfit system was not what i was asking for. I wanted a way to reforge my armor permanently into what ever style i learned using mimic stones, not having to use a whole new system to create costumes that i have to pay for slots per piece and spend more money.

I really, really, REALLY wish for ZoS to change their minds and give us accountwide slots for that giant 1500-Crowns-pricetag, though. :(
It limits creativity when you have only one slot to play around with.

Depends on the character and situation.

For example, my Morag Tong assassin uses a costume while doing every day stuff and only wears his "duty" outfit while on the job. My Warden, on the hand, wears his outfit all the time.

Personally, outfits. Because I have a really thematic one. Too many silly floaty shoulders though.

If they bring back dragon priest costume, then that. I feel like it might next crates. (Scalecaller, fitting, other dragon priest hats have been datamined.)

I would like to wear an outfit, I have made some really nice looking costumes, but 20-25K to wear something I have already earned isn't cool to me so I don't. I was so excited for this and I played with it for about 30 min, and every combination that I like was too much gold.

I made an outfit for two of my characters. They look ok but they're too expensive to make and the extra slots are such a con.

One of the reason I prefer costumes. I can't handle those floating shoulders... Same with some shoes (where there is a thing which float in front the knee, like the Outlaw shoes. I don't know how to explain better in English. I hope it's understable.)

I never realized how many motifs do not take lighter colors well until this. I have a simulated Snow Elf who I like to dress in white and very light blue. I set all the color swatches to my best light blues and whites, and browse the motifs. Some of them you’d think aren’t even dyed. Altmer robes get the closest of the ones I have. The two Morrowind costumes meanwhile dye to a perfect snow white and icy blue.

And if ZOS wanted to really make money from this, they’d make it so you could purchase any missing motif chapter right there in the outfit interface for crowns like you can buy housing items in the housing interface.

So at the moment, it’s a combo of costumes and outfit slot to dye weapons.

True. Floaty/bulky knee and elbow pads limit my selection.

So many outfits lighter dyes luck mucky and with hints of brown. Kind of annoying. I personally just go with black+different accents depending on class for all my characters.

Outfits are too cool not to use. If it weren't for the high gold cost, I'd likely re-outfit almost every day.

...has anyone put out an outfitting addon yet that lets you "save" outfits for future use without saving them to an actual outfit slot?

Right now I'm wearing the nord hero costume with no helm over my outfit, but I go back and forth. Once i get the rest of the apostle motif, I will be wearing a mix of that in all weights (came up with it messing around on the PTS).

I only started crafting and collecting motifs a few months ago, and have not spent gold on any, so my outfit selection is pretty limited.
