New Class/ New Weapon

if it was your choice to put a new class AND a new weapon in the game, what would they be?

for me i would want like a rogue trickster/summoner...mostly ranged...using a lot of gadgets, etc...and can permasummon 2 other fighters...one ranged, one melee


another cool one would be a dark mage ninja...the idea is a teleporting mage that has several melee teleport attacks, and can also blast dark energy, but only within about 10M...so he would be a mid-range fighter

for my new weapon, i'd want (dont know what they're called) that weapon that is almost like a spear, except that it has blades on both ends...i can see a lot of cool flips and twirls with it

what about u guys?

    I would not want any new classes on their own, I would much rather prefer them adding stuff to the existing classes, one way or another... so that -everyone- can enjoy them with their characters, no matter if they are newly starting or have played a dozend characters or more through all the content since launch... in addition, something like that would give -way- more options, way more interactions, way more player character diversity throughout the game, way more fun for all involved.
    ...but then, that opinion of mine should surprise noone at this point! ;)

    As for new weapons... well.... mostly I'd want a whole range of new options there, but if I -had- to pick a favorite new skill line possibility, I would most likely go for the "Polearms" from my aforementioned additional weapon skill ideas... though it would be close with "One-handed and Magic"...
    What I would want even more then a new skill line though would be more options for some of the existing skill lines. Like crossbows, or spell foci...

    I'd like to see crossbows added, probably working the same way as fire / lightning destro staffs.

    I'd like to see morphs for passives and a 3rd morph for ultimate.

    I'd like to see 1h sword and shield also include a magic staff (maybe frost based, but NOT a destro staff) and frost destro staff added back as a DPS option with CC.

    For a weapon: either spears or a one-handed magic weapon, preferably melee.
    For a class: Necromancer seems popular and interesting. Or a spellsword, a class that is able to perform well as a hybrid, without having to gimp themselves like trying to actually hybridize yourself, yet would still be powerful as solely magicka or stamina based. Probably wouldn't make too good of a tank though.

    the issues with hybrid builds can't be addressed at the class level. It has to do with the way damage scales off max resource and physical/spell penetration and weapon / spell crit and damage.

    Hmm... maybe a monk like class along with a fistweapon skill tree.

    Or a spellsword tree. (Basically combined magic of staff tree with the melee of melee trees)

    Some kind of shapeshifting class maybe?

    Necromancer which summons a bunch of minions instead of 1 or 2 like warden and sorcerer.

    Alternatively a fourth skill tree for every class?

    Warden would get a shapeshifter one to make them more like D&D esque druids.

    As for weapon line, its a toss up,
    either "a smack em stick" staff that is 2 handed would be nice, not built for brute strength but a finesse and defense dare i say tanking weapon choice. you know quarter staff

    or
    A 1 handed spear with shield, like ancient line troops. though chucking javelins sounds like fun too, but i guess templars kinda already do that.


    For a class- i propose a bard, jack of all trades master of none. They just pick 3 existing skill lines from the other classes, but have no access to ultimates other than weapon or guild lines.
    Ummm stuff… about stuff…or something.

    Actually the game is limited by itself , because there are 2 type penetrations which affected the game directly , you won't have extra resource and CP to maximize both results . You have to pick 1 !

    In PVE , say for example , as a stam dps , there are some skills you must have to slot .
    DW : Steel Tornado ( Optional but recommand ) , Deadly Cloak ,
    BOW : Poison Injection , Razor Caltrops , Endless Hail , Rearming Trap ( optional but recommand )

    And some class specific skills , the rest is limited or even NO !

    To ZOS , once again , there is no DIVERSITY at all , everyone looks like a copy cat . This is your job GINA , please improve the current status , thank you !

    exactly...of course there will always be a "best" loadout...but many other options arent even close when it comes to viability...so it kinda leads everyone down the same path...

    Class: Trickster (Game name: Loremaster)

    1 skill line: Necromancer
    2 skill line: Enchanter
    3 skill line: Death (similar to Assassin and Shadow in NB but with more range)

    Weapon skill line: 1H and Spell

    Weapon: Spell/Rune


    So in other word a class that put Sorcerer and Nb togheter so we can have a class that have stam based skills that have range and who have a proper support skills

    Want a weapon skill line that have both stam/mag based skills

    The necrostaff.

    There are NPCs that are "nercomancers" and they have green glowy ends to them. we could have those. There is also the shadow staves that some NPCS have so you could have necrostaff and shadowstaff as two types of the same set of skills.

    Class? neh I am not super enthused by classes at all and I think all the classes I can think of are taken. Its trickier than usual because you need classes that can be both magic and stamina based. So your D&D classes don't make sense.

    I would instead as Maomer race, with lightning and poison damage amps.

    My preference for a class:

    Battlemage This is the one that's rumored and the one I personally want to see the most. A battlemage would focus on melee-range combat utilizing elemental spells, primarily alteration magic. Where we have the dragonknight using fire, the warden using frost, and the sorceror using lightning, a battlemage would be using more kinetic spells (throwing boulders, earthquakes, paralysis, telekinetic waves, etc.) Alteration spells would fit in well with a close quarters fighter, and could have a lot of tanking and dps applications (In the base game DK's were the tanks, templars were healers, nightblades melee dps, and sorcs ranged dps. Wardens are a tank/healer hybrid, so it stands to reason that the next class - battlemages - would be a tank-dps hybrid).

    And for a weapon to go along with them:

    Polearms A two-handed cross between staves and melee weapons. Polearms should be a true hybrid weapon, with morphs for each ability/attack determining whether you deal magic or physical damage with the attack. Light attacks could deal physical damage with a slash, while heavy attacks could wind up a kinetic/magic blast for a ranged attack.

    Just like the ice staff changes came around the same time wardens did, and were made for each other, the battlemage and polearm are made for each other. Another option, rather than polearms, could be:

    Scepter (+Shield) A complimentary skill line to one-handed + shield, the scepter skill line would utilize shields as an offhand, but a new scepter weapon type in the main hand. Scepters, like staves, would deal fire, ice, or lightning damage and be primarily a short to mid range magic weapon. Fire scepters compliment a single target damage style, lightning scepters benefit aoe damage, and frost scepters gain defensive benefits like frost staves for tanking applications.

    Oh for new weapon... hard to think about tbh... maybe an Ice Staff?
    Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 25 DLCs. 41 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game.

    More ranged weapons. Musn't even be 28m but 15m or so. Mid-ranged class/weapon would be okay too.

    Scepter + Rune maybe? Or Spears for mid-range.

    Good question!



    I would love to see either a Bard to lift our spirits and a necromancer you can summon undead instead of daedra.
    Weapon wise i know its crazy , but spear like weapons. The Halberd or Trident would be awesome.
