If you bought your copy AFTER 11/16/2016 the workaround doesn't work for you. They changed the login procedure to force it to authenticate with the launcher. If you run the eso64.exe file the client will open but you will be unable to log in

I don't have a password, and I imagine many folks who bought the game through Steam don't either. It never asked me for an email address or password when I started the Steam version, simply for a user name.

I also go the error, so I closed the game and tried the relaunch. Now ESO is somehow uninstalled from my computer even though I was just looking at the login screen a few minutes ago and Steam is asking me to reinstall it.

I can confirm that I bought my copy before 11/16/2016 (I bought mine March of 2016), and the workaround does work for me.

I do appreciate the quick response from the ZOS Support team

Steam doesn't give the login information to users that bought the game after a certain date so you can't bypass the launcher and play without it.

I know I looked into it before when there were similar issues.

They [Zenimax] seem more interested in micro-transaction and new D.L.C then actually fixing problems the server's or Login system's

Only works if you bought before they went on steam, then linked it after
