Fear bug

So im getting endless fears. I cant break it no matter how many times i spam cc break.. Other people are having this issue to, and it doesnt happen every time but when it does you cant break fear. I dont know what causes it but nightblades are already annoying enough without an unbreakable cc, especially when you're outnumbered. Anyone else encounter this? I am on xbox NA.

Yep ive encountered this, but it's bren like it for an age. Fear is broken as heck, you can stare at your stamina bar and its full, button smash away and still your toon runs away like a toddler scared of a spider.

When some skills are un-usable people call them broken & not working.
When some skills are working... they call them broken anyway.... *logic* .

Anyway - what you are probably experiencing is fear + lag.. a lot of lag... - Yes fear itself is ok-ish. But fear in combination with lag in cyro ? Yep.. that is kind-of a broken... and as far as I remember it was always like this. Sometimes the game does not register you trying to break free (left & right mouse button) - so you have to spam it until it works...
My guess is it is similar thing that occasionally happens with "Meteor" - it can CC you even before it is rendered....

Anyway - after recent major patch fear is only form of "CC" skill that NB has (Agony is no longer CC and is a probably the most useless healing skill in game). Keep in mind the fear was nerfed and it only works on 2 targets instead of 3.

As a NB fear is broken cause I can immediately Ambush + Fear and they'll be out of range and fear will miss (if people are running away or running objectives in BG's I literally have to run ahead to get a fear to hit them).

As a non-NB, even very rarely when it happens, getting perma feared makes me hate all NB's (including myself).

Fear is broken in a few ways.
1. No animation
2. Unable to break( I have better success since I changed my default break free)
3. Totally missing
4. It should always hit that last target a night blade or were wolf hit,unless dead.
5. Double casting. (I have had fear double cast so many times with 1 button click)

I know what not being able to cc break because of lag feels like. This is something happening with fear specifically. Happened 3 times yesterday. And nightblade the weakest class? I hope i misunderstood you. This has nothing to do with strong or weak or nerfs or buffs.. Im just saying its bugged or something is up with it. It happens far to often for it to be coincidence.

Well, it doesn't seem to me like the OP is calling for a nerf. It sounds to me like fear isn't working as intended. You are supposed to be able to break free from fear.

Now, if what's causing the unbreakbale fear is an outside problem like lag, then the lag has to be fixed (lol, I wish!) But if the problem causing unbreakable fears is with the skill causing the fears, then its not calling for a nerf to ask for the fear effect to work as intended.

Many CCs feel broken. Templars bubble I still can't CC break for the life of me. I sit there and bash and do all kinds of stupid movements trying to get out of it and I can't, it just has to run it's course and I'm stuck heavy resto attacking.

Fear I've noticed has the same lag issue that I experience with rune/fos. You can't CC break it right away like a knockdown or knockback, be it lag or whatever, your stuck their for maybe a second, feels like ages, then you can CC break. Possibly fear is slightly worse because of animation?

Fear most definitely has animation. You don't see the ghost show up when a NB casts it?

This isn't a fear issue it's an issue with CCs in general caused by lag. It's never going to be fixed unless we get major server and infrastructure overhauls from ZoS.

No actually. Roughly 1/4 of the time (for me) you don't see the fear animation show up, your character just appears to stand there like an idiot with all controls greyed out for a bit and then MAYBE starts running. Sometimes you can actually break it even when no animation appears but that implies realizing you're feared.

Been a while since I've been to Cyro but good to know some things never change...fear has always been by far the buggiest CC of them all(and that doesn't imply others work flawlessly). Another thing that makes fear so godmode awful is its duration. Under normal circumstances it shouldn't matter because if you haven't broken free in 1 second well that's on you, but when you spend whole damn 4 or whatever seconds mashing breakfree at full stam bar...4 seconds of absolute helplessness is more than enough for most any non potato player to kill you.

@paallterrain148 the templar bubble is another issue all together. You cant see it for like 1 second when its put on you and that means that if you hit something like a spectral bow, in that split second before you can see the bubble, you are gonna rip yourself. This actually happened to me a few weeks back.

Anyway call it lag, call it what you like, but its not working as intended. I was watching some guy streaming on xbox the other day who was talking about how if 2 people feared you, or if the fear was done twice, it would cause it to become unbreakable. I cannot confirm or deny that.. What i can tell you is that its rare for me to get an unbreakable CC. It does happen but not often. Now sliding on the ground like an idiot after being incaped, that happens daily.

But this fear thing is happening regularly. Almost once per 1-2 days. It is 100% unbreakable. Anyway, once again just putting it out there. If you are on xbox i encourage you to test it. Even on other platforms but i play on xbox so i can only tell you what happens on xbox.

And the result will be as always... Instead of fixing it ZOS will nerf it... again and again until NB will have no CC at all...

I think break free has issues in general and it makes cc like fear even more frustrating for players .
