As it stands, I got a 2000 crown costume
It's kinda funny how the steady inflation of crown store prices influenced how people think and remember these things.

When Dark Shaman was released over a year ago, it was 1200 crowns, not 2000. And a lot of people complained on the forums about the exorbitant 1200cr price. But that doesn't seem as outrageous these days, now that people have gotten used to special costumes often costing 2K or more.

Gave you an insightful, but also felt I should mention something. Costumes seem to come in tiers-

500, 700, and 1k racials are super common. Remember the dunmer trio of very well done ladies' wear, not one of which neared 2k? More recently, the Nordic and breton men's wear.

I honestly thought this costume was in the alliance hero or "cutesy" assassin tier, the tier that emulates well known or particularly noteworthy individuals.

I also, shamelessly, thought that because I would have paid 2k crowns to give my new overweight male orc this to break the wedding dress mold.

Yeah, there's definitely a preset price scheme going on, with costumes.

Beyond the ones you've mentioned, major signature costumes seem to run around 2k. So, that's the three hero costumes, and Naryu's. I kinda suspect the Warden outfit would have been another, if it hadn't been bundled into the Morrowind CE.

Then there's also a batch of mid-tier unique costumes at the 1k-1.2k range. That includes the Dragon Priest, the Tresure Hunter, Toxin Doctor, Priest of the Green, Dragon Warrior (the Skyrim costume), Dark Shaman, and probably a few others, I'm forgetting. These have all been pretty distinct looking.

I mean, reasonably speaking, all crown store prices are probably about double what they should be. But, here we are.

I’m genuinely curious now... How many people are receiving a home of any kind from the mystery boxes...? And I don’t mean jackpot winners. I’m talking about just casually opening a mystery box after a dungeon clear, and being rewarded with a new home.

I had read on these forums that supposedly someone’s guild buddy had received The Forsaken Stronghold from a mystery box, but that was it. That’s all I have heard about. I’ve yet to encounter someone either in-game or on these forums who has received a house themselves.

I hope I get the blacksmith costume (I regret I didn't buy it when I started to play this game).

Other than that I think it's pretty obvious that this is a stress test of the GF tool so I don't treat it as an event. Had some fun dungeon clears this weekend so I'm actually enjoying it a bit.

Well fingers crossed for the blacksmith costume in the following days

Well, in my opinion, with this drop rate they shouldnt be locked to 1 per character... They should be farmable, like those Halloween boxes.

Edit: No, I wasnt expecting to get a jackpot or something... But 1 lockpick and 1 undaunted plunder?

Not in the event, it is getting old healing tanking though. Especially since I Maim a tank so it’s doublily annoying when I lose aggro for a second because I’ve haven’t been healing as much because I have aggro. Guess it’s time to go find a skill point so I can actually run inner fire.

But 2 customs and an Atheral Dust. That dust pretty much makes it worth 30 PuG runs

I'm actually fairly happy - I mean it's giving me a chance to get stuff I wouldn't otherwise get, and I have 11 characters who can do dungeons so maybe I have a higher chance than some of you (but tbh if someone is only running it on 2 or 3 characters then that is hardly my fault, nothing prevents anyone from having at least 8 characters for such events).

I got the chef costume, the blacksmith costume, the treasure hunter costume, and 4 CWC plans so far. Still holding out hope for the mount or dog pet mind you!

I only did it on my main and all I got was trash. The same for the crates we get for free once in a while.

But I don't complain since we got them for free anyway. I don't like the new mounts anyway.

Not much I can say that hasn’t already been voiced. The drop rates are horrible, and the loot table drastically diluted. The group finder is very buggy and slow which significantly prolongs the process. You have “high end” players ruining the experience for lowbies because some ppl are there for the experience/completes while the others want to gtfo asap because they have 10 other chars to run buggy group finder dailies on (takes hours).

The chance of winning the 20 mount/home jackpot is also lower than that of getting a radiant apex mount - there’s probably 1-2 people who have got it in the entire ESO population (possibly even zero).

Just a mess. You marketed this event toward those who don’t play the game as a big deal while simultaneously pissing off most of those who do. This event was created for advertisement - not your playerbase. I can see it in the lockpicks you’ve given me in place of this event’s “massive” selection of mounts.....

It's just classic ZOS. People have been asking for Dark Shaman costume since I can remember and they would buy it outright.

So ZOS decided to bring it back... in the RNG boxes. Everything in this game has changed into a f***** lottery.

Free stuff is good - right. But if I have to waste my time doing boring random normals just to get a lockpick or
Stros M’Kai treasure map, then it's not good at all and there is no reason I should be grateful to ZOS. Each time when I get these 'rewards', I feel like ZOS is laughing right in my face.

I do think getting a lockpick in a reward box is a massive slap in the face - it's like "hahaha" from ZOS - Zeni, please reconsider and don't do this in future, it really annoys people.

Nope, not at all and I've gotten nothing of note. 90% of my boxes have been mimic crowns or dyes, but I've had a blast. My PUGS have basically been quick runs throughs with a little bit of talking but zero rude or annoying behavior. The others have been amazingly pleasant runs. Heck, the last one, the leader said go get your crappiest characters and lets make another run. I brought out a toon I'd of never risked tormenting a group on and it went GREAT.
I've given up on getting anything of interest, but I'm sitll running them cause they've been fun.

I'm usually the unluckiest guy when these things hit. Everyone bragging about their cool items and all I have to show is some measly every day mats etc.

However, in 6 runs I've gotten: 2 purple plans and the shaman costume. Only one of those boxes contained a really poor return (a map and a lockpick). The rest have had dyes. Whilst useless to me personally, free is free.

i would happily pay 20 bucks for the dark shaman costume- instead they make me farm this crap in a broken dungeon finder for 2 hours every day- for a minute chance to win it- its so frustrating that Its honestly brought me to my limits these past few days. why they insist and persist in creating frustrating content- instead of gratifying and satisfying outcomes for the player is something theyre going to learn the hard way .

it took them how long to learn from transmute crystals, from gem stones in crown crates- that people like to gamble a little bit- but still have an opportunity to see and get what they want at the end of the rainbow- even if it doesn't work out with a gamble. like a fairground- sure u gamble for a prize- but if all else fails you can still buy the fluffy piece of crap for 20 bucks- overpriced- but at least that way everyone is happy. here we are again - they revert to this...

sorry just really cranky that I've been waiting for the shaman costume forever- missed it a year ago and now am getting it thrown in my face again.

i need to get out more and uninstall this crap

I never expect much as I have a notoriously bad RNG (statistically proven to be bad...lol) but I've been very happy with the event so far.

I've opened 32 boxes and have gotten a mount, 2 pets, and 3 costumes.

The mount, the Imperial Warhorse, is hideously ugly. A guildmate saw it and said it looks like the interior decor of a Wild West brothel. So the mount has been renamed Brothel. But it's mine.

The Blacksmith costume is awesome. I've been wanting a non-heroic costume for my crafter for a while. I like it so much, in fact, that I race-changed my dunmer crafter to a huge, burly Nord so he'd look even more like a blacksmith. Well done.

The Dark Shaman costume is also fanastic. Without the helmet, my dunmer NB tank looks great. I don't play redgards but I think this costume screams Sword Singer.

The chef costume is laughable. Looks more like a nurse than a chef. My one guildmate who insists on wearing it has been nicknamed "Candy Striper."

I can't stand non-combat pets but I was happy to get a couple instead of the usual treasure map and mimic stone. But, wow, that mastiff is UGLY. Not gaudy-funny-ugly, like the Imperial horse, just plain ugly.

So, overall, very happy with the event. Only had about 2 lost hours due to queuing bugs but have been able to get all 8 characters a box every day. I'm traveling the rest of the week so I'm happy to have gotten some good drops already.

32 runs for me and the only valuable drops for me remain a blacksmith costume, and three cwc plans, none if which were purple.

This is not right. It's starting to feel like getting one more of the rare interesting rewards is going to be impossible. Some people have bad RNG in these events. Some have good. In previous events this was not such a big issue since we could at least trade or buy on a guild store the runeboxes which we hadn't managed to drop. But now those with omited collectible drops can't even benefit from getting doubles, and those who have failed to get what they wanted are denied access to those prizes no matter how much gold or even crowns they're willing to spend to get them.

I fully agree this should have been done in a different way. First box of the day for each account should have a GUARANTEED collectible drop. The others might have something nice as well but would most likely just be the trash we are getting. It would make it fair for players who have 14 characters AND players who only have one or two. It would also ensure nobody got screwed by lame RNG seeing as there isn't even a possibility for us to acquire the prizes in any other way.

I will keep running dungeons until the end of the event but I have pretty much given up on hope, turning it from something fun into just another grinding chore.

would have been nicer if they advertised the event differently. The fact that they originally said that the boxes will contain crown store items made me expect things like the potions, or crown mimic stones, but adding all the maps, undauted plunder and such to boxes is a loot dilution overkill.

Out of all the days I got the dog, so I'm quite happy, however my companions, that I worked quite hard to recruit to the game, are pretty much ready to drop the game, as they feel no motivation to do things that don't really reward you with anything actually nice, especially when the devs advertised it as a special even that gives you something nice.

People keep saying "it's free stuff". It's not free. This is a B2P game, number one. If you're paying for ESO plus, it's most certainly not free. We are paying for this game one way or the other. ZoS isn't running a charity service.

Yes, mainly because the loot rewards contain so much garbage in them. You at least get an undaunted key in each box or you might as well just run the undaunted pledges
