Main Thread for Long Loading Screens

noob in denial

Had this bug 5 out of 6 tps, was trying to get into hrc. With my pc setup anything should load in less than 1second, eso is the exception. When the loadscreen goes over 30sec-1min, i force exit and retry. All in all, this game has way too many unfixed problems and i will not buy another eso+ ever again.

I've uninstalled Nvidia GeForce Experience and put the in-game graphics on Low... FPS is going from 10 to 80/90 FPS, much better.
But why investing in a good graphic card when you can't use it properly ingame... Issue applies only for ESO, no other games are impacted.

Yep. All started with that dreaded Patch error #210. Then had to repair client, launcher, etc - now can at least get game to start - but total freeze out/endless 'not responding' load art before reaching character select. Total waste of time and $$$ at this point. It's been at least the last 3 patches with this act. Ugh.

I wonder if it would be possible to have a Verbose loading screen we can turn on/off in the Settings INI, so we can be of greater help identifying and isolating long load screens. I didn't browse through all 53 pages of this thread to see if it already been suggested, but @ZOS_GinaBruno would this be in the realm of possibility?

I noticed that earlier on it was isolated to textures not loading, but I had noticed that I had longer times with characters that had done more quests compared to those that hadn't. Not sure if related or not, I just don't have any way to look at data.

I'm on Xbox NA and I'm only experiencing the random unusually long loading screens, I haven't had any unending ones. My partner though gets this unending loading screen quite often, usually requiring killing the game and reloading.

Well infinite load screens again. I cannot log in to the game full stop but my other half can. We both run Ethernet wired fibre broadband which speeds are at 40mb.

Never mind the dungeon finder issue for the event with which I was queued for 3 hours yesterday. Now I just can’t get in.

PC EU server and actually moved to PC from PS4. This is disgusting and how I see it is you are thief’s. If you cannot provide a service that we pay you for then when shall I expect my refunds for the countless hours I’ve spent trying to login. I’m aware that network and service engineers are hard to find, however I highly recommend you employ a better one. You’re ZOS operating under the Bethesda banner. Your studio will go under like many studios before you if you carry on pissing off your fan base. Trust me, I used to work in games recruitment. I have spoken to countless devs looking for new jobs because of flakey studios.

Don’t think you’re an exception. Ultimately we pay your salaries and cover your costs. What happens if you keep messing up these load screens and server lag issues? Well we all leave to play a better game who manages it better. Every time I contact support I get a crap generic template response that didn’t even answer the question which is proof that you don’t actually read the support questions. Crap all round and crap customer service. Good luck scraping the barrel for fans at the end of 2019. You’re rapidly losing them based on your numbers and social media drama. Round of applause 👏.

For me it has occurred on multiple PCs, but in generally the same locations: Serenity Falls Estate, Cradle of Shadows, Fang Lair and occasionally, Alinor or Mournhold. Never in Belkarth which is more populated.

That event can be easily used to know the difference in server conditions comparing EU and NA.

The thing is I play both EA and EU. Same PC, same Internet, same addons, absolute same but servers.

So gameplay is different.
I have minimum issues while playing on NA - no need to slow pace while mounted, no any loading screens, pretty quick loading overall.
Although I live in Moscow which is 3 times closer to EU server - the last one works worser. Loading takes longer, there a lot of loading screens popping in the open space, more time is needed for NPCs to actually react after I address them.

So it all really looks like EU players are secondary class players and ZOS doesn't care about this discrimination

P.S. Waiting at EU for Matron Borbuga to appear for 30 seconds shows WRONG attitude.

This issue seems to be greater with additional load such as more addons and yes the Guild Roster as well. Try applying the manual fix or the addon to block and see how much it helps you.

It is not absolutely the same as your Guilds will be different. How many guilds and what are the sizes on the different servers? A more active guild also plays into it as there are more position changes taking place.

Take a look at the thread I linked above and see if that helps you. After applying the fix it has reduced my load screens. I also only run the addons that I need going and turn off ones that are situational such as for crafting. Just a matter of reducing load.

I'm on XB NA, running on an XBOneX with an SSD - the game is installed on the SSD.

It wasn't until Thursday or Friday of last week (after the Undaunted Event) where I started experiencing intermittent long load time. Used to average about 30 seconds, at most, now it's usually 45-1min+ to load - but not all the time.

Just last night, I got the "unusually long load time" text just as it loaded the character select screen, so a minute to log in to character select. I had never seen that text come up just prior to character select. Then, about a minute from character select to get to the splash/load screen. If it takes that long, then it's usually about 10-15 seconds to then get in the game, but I've encountered longer than that. If it's shorter from character select screen to load screen (say 45 seconds now - used to be 15-20) then it's usually 45 seconds to a minute to then get in the game.

Basically, what used to be around a 30-second log-in now takes over a minute. Porting at wayshrines sometimes only takes the usual 10-30 seconds, but I'll often have several over a minute (one time almost 2 minutes). And, this has all happened to me within the past week. No change in load times for me since Murkmire or even during the Undaunted Event. Just within the last week.

Same addons.
Same PC.
Same Internet.

So top pretending it's any way my issue and not server-side.

What differs - EU or NA server.
EU server is just bad.
Really bad.
3 loading screens to run from Skywatch wayshrines to Queen Ayrenn hall vs 0.

That's the real proof of server discrimination.

P.S. Need to add I never experienced 2 minutes long character loading at NA what happened at least 3 times this week at EU

Since last DLC having lonngggg load screens and it's getting so I am spending more time looking at load screens than actually playing the game!! This is a crazy situation ZoS any suggestions yet????

Me and 2 friends of mine now also have the problem of endless loadscreens - or longest waiting time was about 30 minutes when we gave up for this time.
All of us tried deactivating all add ons, restarting the game, the PC and, as stated above, waiting for a long time.

We all play PC, EU Server.

Everyone of us has a different internet provider and we live in different cities, DSL speed 50 Mb or faster

I don't know the exact tech specifics of the other PCs (Just: one of them has a stronger graphic baord, one has 32 GB DDR3 Ram) but mine are:

Is there any specific area or zone you consistently see a long loading screen?
What are you doing when you experience a long loading screen?

Doing a quest and entering a special zone needed for the quest, for example the last room in the imperial city questline (never finished that one), and last for me, playing alone was the "lost knife cave" in eastmarch, also needed for a quest.

I had long loadscreens from time to time since I have been playing ESO (Beta..) but when the midyear event started neverending loadscreens also appeared..

Edit: Next endless loadscreen, just right now, trying to enter a DLC veteran dungeon via group search..
Edit 2: after 7 minutes we could enter the dungeon

I play on a PC on megaserver EU, from Finland, Espoo.

The problems started yesterday and continued today. I have played on and off since launch and this is the first time I get this problem. Long loading times happened in multiple locations, such as Vassamsi mine and in Vos' mage tower when a gate was opened, entering the portal caused the long loading times.

I found that this long loading screen issue was limited to special Quest-related instances. Just now, however, I have had to wait a long time to get into a standard single-player Delve.

Stuff like this makes the game unplayable.

I have to add something to "doing quests and entering a special zone needed for the quests" - we tried again on different days, tried to restart the quest - nothing works, we are completely unable to enter the needed areas and therfore finish the quests...

Same for me as a solo player with a low level char - even more than a week later no chance to enter "lost knife cave" - if i wait long enough I just get logged out by system for beeing idle too long.

Is Bethesda already working on a fix for that issue?

Long loading times around 5-7 minutes. Group with other people is not possible because you kicked out of the group for taking to long to zone.
