You have made capture the relic a frustrating experience

This was one of my favourite BG games. While I can see and understand why the relic no longer sticks to you instantly, currently it's way too demanding and time consuming to just get it, let alone carry it.

It was meant to be fast and furious game, now it's slow, cumbersome and often leaves the teams without any point, especially if there are preformed groups.

Why you always have to do either all or nothing, black or white?

    Having to contest an objective through combat in a "battle"ground ruined it for you eh?

    The change gives teams the tactical option to defend, or force full offense. Kill the defence, take the point.

    The team stacking the most stam sorcs shouldn't automatically win without counterplay.

    Other 2 players on your team don't even matter. (unless of course vsing a team with similar setup)

    When there are unkillable tanks, and when the relic is literally right next to the respawn point, then yes.. it's a problem. Even if you kill the defense, you'll have to fight off the third team and then the defense respawns... it's dumb.

    Also... stam sorcs??? wut? you sure you dont mean stam wardens?

    I like the concept for sure, since defense actually matters now; no more super-speed + dodge/reflect spam + immovability potions (if necessary) leading to flags being capped within a few seconds. However, the current state of combat, potential for very short respawn timers, and (lack of) distance between player respawn point and relic location do absolutely harm the implementation, with perma-blocking being the #1 issue by far.

    ^ Correct. I'm not against delay or any kind of animation for relic bonding, but currently it's too long and too demanding. Almost like Elder Scroll collection in Cyrodiil.

    The only way I managed to collect and score so far was playing with my team. Playing solo with a random group was not an option. Even though we won, one opponent team had 0 points, so I imagine those guys were pissed off. And I've seen 0 points a lot since the latest changes.

    Good team was always necessary, but at least the game provided you some mechanics to get some points by your own if one of the members wasn't good. Now, it's not the case. It's usually one team leads, other follows or tries to lead and third one is just to decoy. Seeing 500-60-0 score happens too often.

    It needs to be about 1 second shorter to pick up the relic. Or remove it altogether.

    I like the change, no one can just run up pop an immovable with major expedition and be gone.

    Seems like the BG team though the gameplay was the reason for lack of population which is really short sighted.

    Pre-Made Pug Stompers is the main reason people don't come back.

    Unkillable builds, Animation changes and getting rekt if you aren't CP cap are the new reason (and premades)

    It's a short sighted strategy. But hey we'll eat our words if pop increase ten fold with all the 690CP boys who didn't dare enter cos it was no CP suddenly rock up.......

    I did get a group almost immediately after this screenshot and proceeded to vs the same 11 people for 5 matches in a row.

    To make sure it wasn't a queue bug I asked the people in my group and they had a similar experience.

    I don't bother going into BGs anymore. Due to the same reasons why I don't bother playing in CP campaigns in Cyrodiil.
    And I'm max CP.

    I started a thread on this a few days after the change was made. I was strongly against it, but I am now starting to appreciate that you have to fight for a relic. Used to be I could just run in, pop an immov, shield ulti and track star it home (PC NA knows too well). CTR matches against a good runner were too short with few options for counter play.

    Though I no longer think they should delete the animation, it is still too long. 2 attackers vs a tank should be able to pick up the relic without infinite bashing.

    Suggestion: Shorten the cast time by 1 second

    Suggestion: Add a short interruptable animation to capture. (only if the pickup animation is significantly shortened. No one wants to spend forever in a CTR match)

    Suggestion: Buff medal scores for support. It is unfairly skewed towards relic capping.

    The relic changes aren't terrible but they aren't great either. My opinion is the action time should be ~1 sec less.

    Very few enemies I've ran into even try to bash when I'm attempting to gain control of the relic. Most of the time it is CC which can be countered.

    I'm still on the fence about CP though (I'm maxed). Right now I'm leaning towards hoping it returns to no-CP.

    Warden/Templar/DK/Sorc groups (toughest combo IMO) were tough in no-CP but it's horrendous for a solo player now. Time will tell with combat changes incoming (block, etc.).

    I still stand by this.

    I played this game several times after few days break and it's frustrating as ever. The time to "capture" the relic is just too great and the only ones I saw doing it were the tanks.

    I have managed to do it when others were fighting at another relic home. Not good at all.
