Having to contest an objective through combat in a "battle"ground ruined it for you eh?
The change gives teams the tactical option to defend, or force full offense. Kill the defence, take the point.
The team stacking the most stam sorcs shouldn't automatically win without counterplay.
Seems like the BG team though the gameplay was the reason for lack of population which is really short sighted.
Pre-Made Pug Stompers is the main reason people don't come back.
Unkillable builds, Animation changes and getting rekt if you aren't CP cap are the new reason (and premades)
It's a short sighted strategy. But hey we'll eat our words if pop increase ten fold with all the 690CP boys who didn't dare enter cos it was no CP suddenly rock up.......
I started a thread on this a few days after the change was made. I was strongly against it, but I am now starting to appreciate that you have to fight for a relic. Used to be I could just run in, pop an immov, shield ulti and track star it home (PC NA knows too well). CTR matches against a good runner were too short with few options for counter play.
Though I no longer think they should delete the animation, it is still too long. 2 attackers vs a tank should be able to pick up the relic without infinite bashing.
Suggestion: Shorten the cast time by 1 second
Suggestion: Add a short interruptable animation to capture. (only if the pickup animation is significantly shortened. No one wants to spend forever in a CTR match)
Suggestion: Buff medal scores for support. It is unfairly skewed towards relic capping.
