Well... looks like this event is OUT for me, considering I'm a solo quester who has never done a group dungeon before... and I really don't want to be 'that guy' who walks into a completely foreign area and has no clue what to do. Especially considering it's a 'RANDOM' dungeon, at least being able to plan ahead of time what dungeon I was going to run I could at least review YouTube to prepare. *sigh*

    Don't miss out.
You shouldn't have any issue doing random normals. They aren't very difficult even for players that don't like dungeons.
I have never minded when I found out that I was running with a player on their first trip.

Just be open for advise on mechanics to make the experience more enjoyable
This the level requirements for normal dungeons made things a lot easier.
Ran a lot of them now leveling characters and all has been smooth runs.
it removed the joy of carrying a group trough ICP on a level 17 but it is an small price :)
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

The fact that it's only obtainable via random group finder dungeons is very off-putting. There's good reasons some of us avoid it.

    Ah. Right.

Yeah my first thought when I read this also was, oh nice, we're going to see lots of level 10 DDs in random dungeons during that week. ;)

Good thing they added the level restriction for DLC dungeons with the last patch. So no more White-Gold Tower or Bloodroot Forge for new players.

Can't wait to see all the people screaming about "noobs and casuals" doing random dungeons that week. LOL. The screaming will be loud and fierce.
I've done many veteran dungeons, but have never done a random one. I always want to read about the dungeon ahead of time to prepare myself, and I can't memorize the mechanics for every dungeon I *might* get for a random.

You don't understand. You see, they said that the boxes can contain consumables, pets, costumes, and other goodies.

How doe-eyed ESO fans read it: All of these rewards are possible!

Harsh reality: 99% of the rewards are the "useful" consumables like Crown soul gems. 0.99% will be the pets and costumes. 0.01% will be the mounts and other more exotic rewards.

LOL. It's so true. That's exactly what I'm afraid of. I wouldn't be particularly excited to do a random dungeon for a 99% chance of getting a box with a soul gem in it.

So, I guess non-combat role players are out of luck for this event? :/

You could find a friendly person or two to do all the combat for you, and /cower in the back while rp'ing that you took shelter from bandits in the wrong cave, were captured by Dominion soldiers, etc. I know it's more work than the pug jockeys will need to do, but a lot of the normal Is are solo'able/duoable. Since pre-made groups can still queue for randoms, you could even get a few rpers together and do a story line about the worst merchant caravan in the history of ever.

Well that's just great. What the hell? WHY? There's no reason why players from other countries couldn't have physical stuff shipped to them. This makes no sense at all!
And even bigger nonsense is preventing people from having a chance of winning INGAME prices.

I've seen this crap done on numerous occasions, and let me tell you something: punishing people for not living in the "correct" country is almost insultive.

Maybe ZOS doesn't want break the laws of the countries/states being excluded? Kind of selfish to expect something from a company when your country's laws disallow it.

I am pretty sure my country has no laws against contests.

Without knowing that country, I couldn't point you to the specific law, but those laws do exist and they differ from region to region. And since your country is excluded from the contest, clearly you are incorrect.

And it normally isn't a law about contests in general. It normally has to do with the amount of money prizes are worth or the clearance about awarding prizes in general. For example, the total prize pool for the contest may exceed the allotted prize pool amount for your country.

A little research on your part would identify the issue. And then a petition to your government could help to get that law changed. Not everything is a companies fault, especially when they wish to not break international laws.

    Czech republic.
    Be my guest, find out.

That's the problem. They can't find out. Nobody is gonna bother researching laws on a per country basis or risk a penalty just by offering it for a country they could not check. Until your county appears in a guide like this and it shows that it is ok to do something like this sweepstake, you won't get the chance to participate. (Check some of the countries. Mine for example has a 22k€ fine for foreign companies doing sweepstakes)

    Be my guest, find out.

Here is what I could find. Really a simple google search. Something you could do on your own rather than be outraged.
    http://www.fay.ch/Games-Service_I/International/Europ__Union_/04_LegalStudy_Czech_Republic.pdf

The important part is this gem:

"Only a legal entity, which has its registered address in the territory of the Czech republic, and which was granted the license to operate a lottery or other like game by the competent authority, may run a lottery or other like game."

    And this:

"The operation of foreign lotteries including the sale of foreign lottery tickets, participation in betting abroad, with which the wagers are paid abroad, and the collection of wagers for betting games operated abroad or the mediation of wagers for betting games operated abroad, are PROHIBITED"

Earlier in the document, a lottery is defined as a number of things including entering into a contract with a company for a chance at a prize or participating in a promotion. Accepting terms of service, a legal necessity, is entering into a contract with ZOS and this sweepstakes is definitely a promotion..

This doc even cites the relevant laws in the Czech republic:

    Act No. 202/1990

Which a quick google search of will bring you the actual PDF of the law. Which you can do yourself.

If you want to make a cogent argument for this, cite your sources and prove to ZOS they are observing an outdated law your country no longer has on the books, or has changed it to accommodate what ZOS is doing.

If this is actually important to you, you will take action yourself to fix it.

My bad. But I will play:

    https://www.imgl.org/sites/default/files/media/publications/newgamingregulationincr_kolomicenko_agl_spring2017.pdf

    Page 2:

"gaming license may be either from the Czech Republic but also legal entities having their registered office in the EU."

On top of having the registered office in the EU, they also have to make a "security deposit of approximately EUR 2 million."

Plus, according to this article, it appears to take months to issue a license. And only 1 had been issued by the writing of the article.

2 million euros is an enormous burden to operate a simple sweepstakes.

The easiest way to do this would be to premake a 4 man group and choose the random dungeon finder. Or make a healer/dps or tank/dps 2 man group. Then disband the group, change characters, and reform the group to do another random. Rinse and repeat.

That leads to a really important followup question. Suppose a premade group has ONE member under Level 45 -- e.g. Level 30 -- with the rest at max CP. Will it be restricted (in the random finder) to the 16 easiest dungeons?
