Efficient, Centralized Writ Spot?

reoskit

With the Clockwork City news that we will be able to turn in writs anywhere, I’m trying to find the most centralized spot that has the following:
  • Both writ boards
  • A writ turn in site
  • Either of the following:
  • - all of the crafting tables (preferably outside)
  • - a purchasable home - at which we can place our own crafting tables
I want to be able to log my crafting toons and do the least amount of leg work to finish all their writs for the day.

I thought I had it sorted with the Gardner House, but the writ boards are on the other side of town. Belkarth/Rawl may be the answer, but they're already some of the busiest towns in PCNA; I'm looking for other options.

Anyone have a one-stop-shop idea?

Mournhold. Writboards outside the crafting den, an apartment just a stones throw down the road, and the writ turn in is right outside the gates (possibly 20-30 yards away from writ board)

    Velyn Harbor
    Mournhold
    Stormhold
    Rawkla
    Vulkhel Guard

A couple on that list have inconvenient wayshrines, but if your parking your Alts, then that is no issue. Some have inconvenient banks, but I don't put stuff in the bank for writs. I don't have Belkarth on there because the wait timer on logouts, and quite frankly, it is not that tight a city for doing writs anyway.

DC seems to have the corner on inconvenient cities for this. Daggerfall, Wayrest and Evermore are the worst layouts, Shornhelm and Sentinel are OKish but still a long distance between things. Of the 5, I would nod to Sentinel.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Wow I"m surprised no one said the right answer yet.

It's Vivec City. The most convenient city in the game. Best city to do everything regastrding crafting, has guild traders nearby too. All of that is very close the wayshrine too. The only thing is that dye station is far or pretty much not there.

    I use Elden Root.
    Snugpod Home.
Then walk upstairs where everything is walk around in a loop picking up the writs and using all stations then walk back down to the stairs and port to Craglorn.

ergh, why do we always having to go to Belkath for writs it drives me nuts.

That's where I will be living. I love the city and everything is laid out so nicely. My only gripe is the shrine requires a run but at least I can browse the shops on the way.

However so far seeing the mixed responses here is neat, means people will break up and we will start to see more people round the world.

Same with Mournhold, Belkarth, Vulkhel Guard.

Stormhold's tables are all outside, but the turn-in is north of the wayshrine. Too far.

I haven't run writs in Vivec, but if all the tables are outside, that may very well be the right answer.

A good point. A writ run can't have any loading screens. But my consumables are premanufactured. My writrunners have maintenance day usually once per month. So they don't use that door daily.

I'll move to Riften since bank, gear crafting benches and enchanting station are close to each other and and also the writ turn in is not far. I pre-craft potions and food/drink in bulk so they are not an issue since they are picked at the bank. Craglorn bores me to death after a year and since many players are there too it's also pretty slow loading sometimes. Also I love the style of the town and the zone.

Velyn Harbor is far from the wayshrine + doesn't have guild traders+doesn't it have doors? If I'm not mistake enchanting and alchemy are behind the door and the bank is behind another door. There are no doors in Vivec and traders are right there if you find that you're out of mats.

Stormhold is almost as good as vivec, but everything is far from the wayshrine (doesn't matter if you just park your alts there I guess) and the bank is behind the door+cooking fire is behind the door.

@Asardes but isn't it better to pick up consumables from the bank when that bank is not behind the door? Try Vivec

All I know is during the event where we did lots of crafting writs, I parked all my Alts in Auridon and did them there. The alts were all doing Tier 1 writs so that is where they got parked. Anyway, going in and out of a door to get to Alchemy, Provisioning and Enchanting is no big deal as your not rezoning.

Say what you will, after years of playing those doors can make up for hours if not days of time /played depending on the number of characters you're doing the writs with.

Vivec has pretty long loading screens so time lost in between characters in loading screens is much longer than time spent opening a door. I've also experienced lag spikes and stutter there once zone is loaded. I think loading screen timer depends on how big the zone is and how populated it is. Craglorn is slightly bigger and more populated than alliance zones and Vvardenfell is even more so.

Stormhold should meet all of your criteria, house, writ board next to five outside craft stations, cooking inside when you need it, bank and outlaw refuge near the crafting stations plus merchants. 5 trader cluster near by as well, and stable and writ drop off right by the wayshine, all of which I'd argue are closer relative to each as you need them than Rawl'ka.

    Edit: Also a dye station.

Problem is the famous Daily Vivec Crash quota each player has on Xbox NA and the special Double and Triple Daily Vivec Crashes that happens regularly.

Best layout for sure, but when you factor the time to go back from Xbox Dashboard, to logging in, other cities will win.

One of my alts is parked in Stormhold that everyone is mentioning and others are in Vivec and I don't see much difference when collecting hirelings' mails and feeding horses. But maybe you're right. If you're right, then yes, it's better to go to a zone with lower population. On the other hand, I like to minizime time doing writs themselves cause it's a boring action I have to perform. Screens are fine, I'm reading forums or watching something in the meantime :)

I'm not sure how exactly those things are related to writs. I mean, you do see the thread's title and requirements listed in the first post, right? Also, the stable is really close - right by the way shrine and traders. http://esomap.uesp.net/?centeron=Vivec+City&world=Vvardenfell. Dye station yes - far as I mentioned myself. But then again, not needed for writs and overall is the least important factor when considering where to park characters. If anything there's a dye station right by the wayshrine in craglorn where you can port from every zone considering how rarely you will need to use it, it's just fine, when you get all crafting and bank close and with no doors in between.

    But that's just my opinion.

A lot of people who park alts for writs are also leveling their Riding Skills until they decide to effectively play them. So, Horse Training can be a factor for some folks.

Dye Station, not sure about that myself. Although someone might want to dye clothing to provide some visual interest.
