Please revert the changes regarding getting ported out of IC when logging out

I feel that the change was unwarranted and absolutely not needed. The way it used to be couldn't possible affect the population as when the campaigns are actually locked you still get kicked out.

It is going to be especially annoying now that the event is coming. I for one like to play in ICs of cyro maps that are dominated by other factions. It provides more interesting pvp that way. Those kind of campaigns are usually dead, so there's really no point in porting me out every time I log out.

    Yeah, especially now when I would've parked my AD bombblade in the sewers of a DC/EP dominated server. There is barely one bar during prime time on it, me staying in the sewers while logged out affects literally nobody while it saves me about 5-10 minutes of horse simulator from the gate to the sewer entrance..........

    Or maybe some sort of caravan horse thing that you can interact from the base camp and it works like the doors to the sewers. Name it something like "imperial caravan" or something.

    Not saying I like the change but I wouldn't say it's unwarranted. It's exactly as you said. It's so you can't park opposite faction or just multiple toons in general down there and hop between them easily after dying. I mean it is fair enough. The amount of times I have grinded telvar with a random red then hopped to my parked blue to kill them when I knew they were juicy taking half their stones on top of mine and had the best of both worlds. This is probably not the right thing to do

    (Although, to be fair, a better solution would be not allowing you to home or guest into the home or guest campaigns of your opposing-faction characters. Didn't it used to actually be like this?)

    Or...when you are trying to grind a toon and a friendly player comes by and F$%#'s up your XP pots so you switch over and handle the problem.

    Am I wrong to think that IC/Sewers is a PVP zone first and foremost? Which campaign do you play on? there is an event coming up and I would like to farm with you.

    So the only reason people are for the change is to stop people alliance switching easily in battle, that in itself is the problem then. As per the many other requests to lock alliance per campaign..

    I'm with the OP however I often park my main there when leveling as I play mainly off peak and it was easier to get in for PvE and the dailies. I found after a peak period (Friday night) but toon would be booted automatically and so fair enough, it got busy.

    This is very annoying if you are in a rush. In particular as you maye need to switch campaigns to find one DC haven't night capped :)

    You're correct that it's a PVP zone. An AVA PVP zone. Not a free-for-all feeding frenzy for... well, there's no accurate or honest term to describe such behavior that's allowed on this forum.

    ZOS eliminated faction locks because the community overwhelmingly, vocally, and nearly unanimously hated it. Grow a backbone.

    The change was made for a very specific reason. IC is part of each campaign and when you enter IC you are counted as part of the Cyro population which adds to the que. If you log out in IC and don't leave Cryo you are still being counted as part of the active population. So ZOS, in its wisdom, has chosen to make your life difficult due to poor coding on their part. The PVP community has been asking forever now to separate IC from the CYRO proper map. ZOS can not. So if you want to play in IC you need to run the gauntlet and participate in the war. Remember the last thing you want to spoil your fun is to have full raids sweep thru the sewers because they are loosing on the topside map or worse bored because no one is topside to fight them. Enjoy the event lots of AP and Telvar will be made and lost over the next 2 weeks.

    Is This the same change, for those just in Cyrodiil. We log off in Cyrodiil and then says your character is in Cyrodiil. But turns out I not in Cyrodiil but outside of Cyrodiil.

    We are forced to port in Cyrodiil, Yea this is unwanted change indeed, If it's the same as IC, especially those whom don't PvE. I didn't mind porting back to Cyrodiil when Campaigns are locked. But this is a whole new story especially when Campaigns are mostly empty.

    1) logged off players still count toward the active population and queues? You'll have to demonstrate how that claim is anything more than conjecture.

    2) the PvP community is actually divided on whether IC should be separated from the campaigns or incorporated into them, so please don't generalize. In my and many others' opinions, it's more lore and gameplay friendly to rework IC and incorporate it into the campaigns, giving campaign players new and exciting content to play, drawing small scale players to contribute to the campaigns, and not further segmenting the already shrinking PvP population.

    3) PvPers who enjoy playing in IC would actually love for raids to come sweep through the sewers. PLEASE COME SWEEP THROUGH THE SEWERS. Let me know when you're coming to visit. ;)

    I enjoyed the Imperial City a good amount back when I was subscribed, so I bought the DLC on sale, ran to the city, played for 5 minutes, logged off bring in groceries, came back and was in Vvardenfell... Honestly considering asking for a refund because eso crashes a lot on my computer anyway and it'll get very annoying having to run back every time this happens.

    Also, I don't see how this is an intentional change, it completely voids the Sigil of Imperial Retreat mechanic, and you no longer have to worry at all after getting a big kill - just log off and you're safe.

The only instance where this will not be the case is if your campaign is full (which does not sound to be the case here.)     Yeah, this sucks. Have to travel this weekend so I can't park my character by the Golden Vendor location to just remote in, pop on, and check to see if theres anything I need. I can try to move there, but my character tends to just roll when I do that.

    I think a better solution would be to allow you to port from the gates directly to the sewers.

    @ZOS_BrianWheeler something like an "Our battlemages have opened a portal to the base in the sewers!" message from Grand Warlord Sorcalin's scribe.

    Or better yet, make IC something you can queue for directly--and distinctly--from overworld Cyrodiil. I'm sure this would make some upset about the loss of continuity between the two, but the detriments of allowing characters to be parked in the sewers are just too varied and severe.

    No one has shown parking characters in the sewers to have any such detriments, much less varied or severe.

    But people have shown parking characters in the sewers to be convenient and desired.
