I say if someone is hiding in the shadows ... laying in wait ... ready to pounce upon/insta-kill whomever they deem to be weak / defenseless ... well I say:

    KARMA

Evidently, that person in the sewers had a huge accumulation of bad karma. When you put out negativity in the world, you will attract negative things ... KARMA.

Yes, this is just a game ... however ... there are real people behind those toons, real people governing the actions of their toons, and those real people have real feelings. Cowards enjoy harming the weak and defenseless, it makes them feel good, it gives them a false sense of 'empowerment' ... however, all they are really doing is building up a lot of bad karma for themselves.

And, why in the heck was that ganker still lurking in the sewers for the 'next two days' ... I mean think about it ... he/she continued to go back time and time again despite the number of times karma was there to kick him in the ass. What the coward should have done was apologize to their victim ... an apology probably would have ended it right then and there, not to mention clearing up some of that negative karma he/she had accumulated.

I'm not saying what OP did was right, personally I don't think that is the way I would have responded. But, what I am saying is that if you 'fight' like a coward by preying on the weak / defenseless, you gotta know all that bad karma is going to come back to bite you in the ass ... sooner or later.

i gotta disagree with this. this is like saying a sniper in fps games is doing something wrong because they dont get up in someones face with a machine gun. just because you play the soldier at the front, and someone else plays the guy at the back, doesnt make what they are doing less legit. its a style of play that is lets be honest, a designed feature of the game to allow that style of play. are there faster ways of getting things done? sure. riskier ways? definitely.

when you do things in life, do you take unnecessary risks or would you take the safer option? sure maybe that player cant beat the OP in a head on fight. the thing is, they dont need to. the element of surprise allows someone who would lose most fights to win a few more. my ping alone (since im usually playing from outside the US, and VPN'ing to canada. not as bad as you'd think though) means im already at a disadvantage. even if i dont use the vpn, im still at a disadvantage. why wouldnt i take every advantage i could? it would be silly not to. that guy is obviously thinking the same thing. and you gotta give em credit for sticking around to be killed 62 times. thats something special right there.

Indeed, but for me its torment grinding for hours after a hard day of work, and lose half of it by someone waiting around for me to get properly filled with tel vars. He didnt even dare attack me before i was distracted and down to 25% hp :D and my guild was pvping too

Well, who says that nb was waiting for you to farm up tel var, for you to be busy or for your hp to fall down that much? What if he just ran into you at the 'perfect' moment? Because I swear that happens for me quite often.

Because for 2 hrs there was only simple chests down there, most ppl only bother to unlock harder chests. And no intermediate locked chests in 2 hrs is not normal

AFAIK Chests don't age. You have to clear them if you want a chance of a greater quality one to respawn.

    Once. A few times. Sure.
The way the OP is worded and 62 times would almost certainly be considered griefing if that person were to report it.

Good thing there are no rules that says how many times u are allowed to kill someone in a pvp zone

Good thing there are no rules that say you can't attack people who are already in a npc fight.

So here the other day after a long day of work, i decided to go tel var farming in IC sewers. So i when i got there doing my route i noticed it was only chests with simple lock all the time (alert!) So i keep running and i dont see anyone else there so i decided ignoring it and continue farming.

After a few hours of farming (still only simple chests around) i fall down to 25% hp on the next mob group and bam! A bannana NB stricking from behind and im down, lost 12k tel vars :(

I got so pissed i got some guild members to spam kill him everytime they encountered him in IC, and now the count is they killed him 62 times the last 2 days.

Is this overreacting or would you do the same? Anyone else had experience with these annoying NBs in the sewers?

I was down there and similar deal probably same a couple days ago. A single chest in the 1st main area of AD where the entire room has mobs. I waited briefly as I wasn't sure if another AD cleared the room or not and knew a red was in there about 30 minutes earlier. I was stealth entire time (in my PvE gear since it kills PvE enemies faster) and decided to be extra careful and got behind the wooden scaffolding (to be hidden) and within 2 sec of attempting to pick the lock, got hit with ambush (which actually pulled me through the scaffolding). He must have been popping detects or staring at the chest the entire time (pretty lame tbh as you can get 1k TV from 2 sweeps of the mobs in you do the circle vs. waiting for someone) and I was down before any real chance to react. Joke was on him as I think I had 50 TV on me. He then went and took the chest. Pretty db move tbh.

If it was the same guy, then I'm glad your guid gave him a run.

FWIW, I wouldn't shoot for the 4x multiplier if you are runnning solo. Go in with enough for a 3x multi, do a sweep (or 2), bank what was earned but keep the 3x active, and repeat. Doing that, is like living off interest from an investment. Worse case you get killed, loose half of the 3x (not much) or slightly more, but you'll still make out better than when you 1st entered.

I get that it sucks to lose what you earned but at the end of the day if you venture into IC expecting not to die and lose stones that's the first of many more mistakes that could be made.

As a nb, ambushing solo player is what we do, I always expect retaliation. That goes with the territory. Nothing is fair in this game. His ambush or your reaction. Your guild hunting him down. Like what 62 times.

They should just remove nightblade in this game, that would be fair I think, and everyone will be happy.

    Right?

Well that would give me reason to leave the game forever.

    I think thats fair.

I find that's perfectly fine. 62 kills are an ample punishment. It was a cheap cowardly move, just the same as aggroing banner bosses and pulling them to already engaged players. I never attack players in IC when they are already engaged with a NPC, even less when it's a boss. It's these design flaws which make IC the deserted place it is.

Don't feel bad, the Ganker also knows the risks of ganking. He should be fairly aware that he is is the lowest of the low and will be treated as so when caught.

He choose this path and probably enjoys the hunt and evasion.

    My advice:

    - Lose what you can afford to lose, place blame on yourself if you lose what you can't.
    - Stop being so frustrated at losing progress when you knew the risk-reward involved.
    - Fight your own battles - if you can't then either move on or get better.
    - Stop getting such satisfaction (assumed from you or your guild actually counting the number of kills) from revenge.
    - Be sure about your actions before you do them.
    - Get a grip, it's a game.

    Well said.

OP you actually seem proud of your guild killing the 1 person that killed you 62 times. You can"t handle 1 NB? I highly doubt he was waiting few hours for you to get "properly filled". Can get more then just waiting a few hours. It's your fault for having that much tell var stones on you in the first place. Bank every 10k or something, plan accordingly. After all it's a PvP area IDK why you thought you were safe.

IC has sewers and multiple districts, once you zerg down an induvidual player you have no way in knowing where he's going next. Even if you know his name that doesnt mean its any easier to find him.

The magblade could go anywhere after his first death so I find it highly unlikely that he was found and killed 62 times in just two days.

that is what gets me with this whole thread. If the NB came back that many times to the same area and kept getting steamrolled, it is his own fault. Just like it was OP's fault for not keeping his guard up in the sewers to begin with.

It's your fault you lost the stones.

First, you shouldn't let your health get so low for such maddeningly simple pve.
Second, invest into a defensive armor set, there's tons of them and most of them are enough to stop gankers cold. (Riposte, reactive, trans, etc)
Third, when you got suspicious why would you not detect pot and roast the guy?
Fourth, always bring a sigil, they're what, 10k ap?

The fact that you cried for help is sad and desperate. In fact, had it not been that ganker it would have been another since you were so ill prepared and playing like a scrub. Then you cried and had all your friends harass this player, pure trash. Players like you are the problem with the community. You can't be bothered to come prepared to a PVP zone then cry when the inevitable happened.
