12k? And you decided not to take a banking break because... ?

Because i was deep in the sewers, i was looking for a chest with sigil, so i didnt need to risk getting killed on the way back

A sigil costs 10k AP. Honestly, do you really think its ok to kill someones fun, because you can't think of taking a sigil along?

Both of you participated in valid PVP, untill your guild decided to step in and you decided it was funny to let them hunt someone down. To answer your initial question: " Is this overreacting or would you do the same?"
Imo: Hunt him down once is fun. Hunt him down a second time is ok. Maybe, if you really really need it a third hunt is necessary. Everything else isn't funny, nor "reasonable".

After all: there is a real person sitting on the other side. PVP, game anything else mentioned ... it doesn't matter, you are old enough to know when to draw a line.

Don't like these situations? To be frank, I don't either. In my opinion, the real bad guy is the developer that screws up their PvP realm population by combining it with this sub-game that is flagrantly based on griefing and ganking styles of PvP. They literally asked for this sort of thing, and sort of complaint to happen in their game, it's how zones like this have worked since the invention of MMO open world PvP zones with PvE content in them. But as far as breaking any rules goes?........

There's nothing against the rules here, snowflakes.

It's a PvP zone, PvP happened.

    Once. A few times. Sure.
The way the OP is worded and 62 times would almost certainly be considered griefing if that person were to report it.

Good thing there are no rules that says how many times u are allowed to kill someone in a pvp zone

They are rules against harassing other players and it applies to all content.

Mh... And why killing a player in a pvp zone shoul be considered as a form of harassment, exactly?...

So here the other day after a long day of work, i decided to go tel var farming in IC sewers. So i when i got there doing my route i noticed it was only chests with simple lock all the time (alert!) So i keep running and i dont see anyone else there so i decided ignoring it and continue farming.

After a few hours of farming (still only simple chests around) i fall down to 25% hp on the next mob group and bam! A bannana NB stricking from behind and im down, lost 12k tel vars :(

I got so pissed i got some guild members to spam kill him everytime they encountered him in IC, and now the count is they killed him 62 times the last 2 days.

Is this overreacting or would you do the same? Anyone else had experience with these annoying NBs in the sewers?

Smart move on his part; the fact that you're having a guild come in and hunt one dude because you don't know how to farm in a pvp zone is pretty entertaining, though.

First of all its pretty dumb to runn around with this much telva. Secondly this is a pvp area so yeah ppl will attack you! Third, people like you are the ones that cause all this saltyniness and anger in this game. That guy got the telva fair and square cause you messed up! Starting a witch hunt on him you shows what kind of person you are. You should be banned for this! Bulling other players like that aint cool and and goes against the community.
All the guild members who joined should be ashamed and I hope this happens to them so they see how dumb this is.

Everyone plays this game to have fun and or relax. By trying to take that away from ppl you are just showing what kind of dip**** you are.

Even more amusing is he made a post about it and advertised how much of a chicken doodle he is.

Got killed in a pvp zone
Gambled with his Tevlar and lost
Rather than man up and taking it as a learning experience he instead calls in the troops to avenge him ..rather than take care of it himself.

The surprising part is that he continued to come, if I was the NB I would switched campaign or done something else.
Just having an huge enemy group farming the area would make it an no go zone.
Perhaps showing up once a day so the guild knew he was still around before doing something else just to waste their time.
    Perhaps he enjoyed the challenge.

The problem about PvP side revealed by this post:

    1) mob rule, hive mind, dismissive to other ideas;
    2) worship personal ability, ignore group effort;
    3) contradict themselves. Often I see people say 'cyrodiil' is a war zone, but they cant face the fact that both sides have a valid strategy to win the war: stealthy ganking vs group gang kill.

So apparently we've got some contradicting independent thinking sheeple in here.

I think you need a comprehension test. What you and most people are doing to the OP in this post is no different from what OP did to the NB. Try harder next time.

LOL- Not even close. Nobody should expect to keep their Tel-Var is they lack foresight in a PvP zone. The OP acts as if he's supposed to be left alone in order to complete his farming route over and over. He carried a LARGE amount of Tel-var on his person and obviously had many opportunities to turn it in AND or use a teleport to get back to his base. PvP in imperial city is a RISK. You do have something to lose if you stay there too long and get caught. That some NB look at players in IC as something to be farmed. Pointing out this lack of foresight and common sense is NOT even in the same ballpark as vindictively sicking a guild on someone to grief them for (gasp) playing the game within the rules and framework set.

I think the OP is getting off light from respondents, because they have to curb what they might actually say about the scenario and attitude shown here. There is NO moral relevance between the two.

Dear Op, I think you did completely fine. Both, in this thread and ingame.

    1) It takes a certain kind of attitude to play nb in imp city, the environment is simply so advantageous for the class that you can't take anyone serious relying on the gank on top of attacking someone fighting boss npcs to eliminate any challenge possible.
    2) Many of the names critizising you here can easily identified as posters, who would be arguing for nightblade buffs in various threads on this forum and valiantly oppose any nerfs. The feedback you get is not unbiased. Open a thread about nerfing nightblades, you will recognize the names of wild forumblades pitchforking you from this thread right here
    3) I play PvP since more than 20 years - it was completely normal to have rivalries and call people out in guilds who would be preferred targets or even get hunted down in all those years over various gaming genres. Thats PvP. According to some of the more creative posters in here, I should be able to report half of cyrodiil for harassment now because entire guild zergs change their way everytime they see me to hunt me down - Cyrodiil would be pretty empty if I wouldve done that over the past years

Just because your thread title attracts lots of dumb, doesnt make dumb right. "Harassment" Haha, wow I must have been gotten really old...

So let me get this straight, it's ok for the NB to gank the OP when he was down to 25% health, but it's not ok for the OP to retaliate? I call BS on this interpretation. The OP simply declared a Blood Feud. No need to get worked up over it. Frankly the NB was as has been pointed out, entitled to gank the OP, and the OP is entitled to retaliate in the PvP setting.

i wouldnt call what the OP did retaliation. he complained about a 'coward' killing him, then called his guild in because he was too afraid to get revenge himself. as people pointed out, killing a few times is ok. 62 in 2 days can be considered griefing, which is generally not ok. though i've killed someone 17 times in a row in another game. people who complain when they get killed in a pvp zone or pvp server definitely deserve a few extra deaths.

I think it's pretty poor sportsmanship to have your guild go and fight your battles for you just because you were running around with 12k Tel Var in IC (which is a place notoriously known for ganking).

Stealing other people's Tel Var is one of the main points of IC pvp. Having your guild hunt for one person because they ganked you(a normal aspect of pvp) does seem like a bit of an over reaction, but hey it's pvp and hunting down gankers is also a normal aspect of pvp.
You should, however, learn learn from the experience of getting ganked and better prepare yourself against gankers so you don't let it happen again.

Death porting is also a valid option if you have a bunch of Tel Var if you don't have a sigil of retreat. The penalty for suicide against mobs isn't that bad.

    It's completely fine

If you happen to gank a player, and he in turn responds, As long as he's not verbally sending him abusive or threatning msgs then there's NO harassment.

PvP in the sewers is PvP, Regardless how many people are out there hunting you. The same goes for if I go out and gank someone. If they happen to be the wrong person to *** off then oh well.
It's part of the game of risk/reward. It's definitely not harassment lmao. That's just a NB in hiding not wanting others to use this type of tactic.

If you get killed 62 times in cyrodiil open world by the same Ganking NB is that harassment? Because he's defending his keep and happens to kill you because you were too dumb not to take a different route or go to another area?

No it means the person dying knowingly walked into a situation aware of what could happen if it already happened the first 60 times.

Anyone calling this harrassment needs to grow up, and realize it's a game. Using other people to help you in open world pvp is also as valid a tactic as inst-ganking. Regardless of how long they target their foe

So TL;Dr Well done OP, you may have lost your stones (pun intended) But you certainly made up for it. I would be impressed if I was that NB for someone having friends loyal enough to kill me 62 times over a single gank.

    That's commitment lol

You haven't played in IC lately. The penalty for dying to PvE or PvP has been the same for a few patches now: 50% of your Tel Var. It used to be 20% / 80% respectively.

You can get out by switching campaigns. See my earlier post, if your home / guest campaigns are full. Of course, you'll end up in Cyrodiil, but if you sensed a nightblade present that would have been another option.

    Constructive...

He's not wrong. I usually only get hate tells after I've won 20k+ from scrubs.

In my spot getting 20k+ tel vars takes almost 2 hours, if starting with 0

Nobody's fault but yours that you can't collect tel var efficiently. Use your guild to put together a solid IC group instead of griefing one dude who's better than you.

It's not about who's better. It's about having fun in the game. Not everything should be competition in game you know. The life is far more competitive than a game.

If you're not interested in competing with others in ESO, don't PvP -- it's kinda the whole point.

Based on this thread, you should probably gather Tel Var items via the same method all the other overly sensitive PvE'ers do: by sitting on the sidelines in Rawl'ka and waiting for other players with the proper wherewithal to manage IC to put up items in guild vendors for you to buy with gold. Sounds like more your speed.

By your logic, if you are not interested in competing with others in ESO, don't run trials -- it's kinda the whole point.

Oh my mistake, I didn't realize Trial Bosses were actually human players.

    /sarcasm

I'm talking about leaderboards. It's the only type of competition that's visible.

It's not player vs. player competition, its a guild circle jerk with pre-programmed robots where your most efficient climax time gets posted on the internet. You're just playing with yourselves m8.
