    nice..

    but yes.. too dark.

Will there be a way to manually increase brightness?

What? I've not had to pay a single cent to download mods from nexus. You can pay a onetime $2 I believe if you want to get ads turned off. Other than that it's totally free.

Maybe it just me but overall I like the first option (default) better. I don't like how dark the overhaul is or how extremely saturated the colors are but that's just me. But other than those the overhaul does look way better. Good work!!!

I have to agree way to dark.

It is too dark. You can't create large radius light sources like you could in previous ES titles(probably because of bot trains and all the shadows they would throw and lag stutter might blue screen your GPU) and you have to see. If you have gone outside(out your front door irl) at dusk and looked around you would notice that is hard to see detail(even when your eyes adjust). Thus to see detail in the game the textures need some level of artificial luminescence without making it look like a light source(and/or your need to simulate eyes adjusting for low light conditions).

I'll agree with others that its too dark and not personally to my taste. That said, my partner would probably love this because she often complains that the game appears too washed out. She once described it as seeing everything through a sepia filter.

The general rule in film industry is "*** goes in - *** goes out". You're just putting raisons on a turd cake here. It's not unreal4 and never will be. FPS are crucial in this game. In pvp or vet trials i have shaders set to off.

Your HDR preset is just so wrong... You crushed everything to a black pulp.

The preset that @MLGProPlayer is using is actualy lowering the dynamic range of the scene by bringing down the highlights a bit and opening up the shadows.

I still prefer the Vanilla look.

    MAJOR UPDATE!

I've gotten fully functional DOF working, there is no other ESO preset that has fully functional DOF. The new reshade presets on the nexus right now all have broken DOF.

I turned the DOF higher than my preset normally is so people could see/understand it better.

    So true. :joy:

Also I don't think changing the lighting counts as a graphics update still but... whatever people like to say I guess.

Nothing, it's pretty much only UI addons and old sweetFX

ZAM wont allow this type of stuff. The database for minions is controlled by them. They'll never allow Hook64 + Depth buffer access to be redistributed on their site.

During the launch of this game there was an exploit in PVP where people would have an unfair advantage by seeing others further away. They patched this at some point so both Hook64 and Depth buffer access can't do anythign to exploit the game in such a way anymore. Reshade specifically disables depth buffer access in online games to avoid cheat detection, but ESO is aware, fixed, and doesn't care so I disabled the line of code that checks for networks and implemented DOF shaders into the game. (as of 1.2b)

GO THROUGH THE THREAD TO SEE ALL PICTURES! Updating constantly thanks to feedback.

Edit: For those who don't understand. This is on PC, the first picture is vanilla and the second picture is using shaders to make the game look like that, also the draw distance was increase and fog was removed.

Edit2: The HDR isn't balanced that's why it looks a bit too dark, I'm using new shaders that have more options for HDR emulation. See my post a few posts down with the Ultra Real Lighting and Colors, that's proper balancing. This preset is brand new and still WIP

So I'm showing this off as a little tease, anyone interested in making their game go from

I've always been more subtle with my touch-ups. I want to thank the OP for the refined dxgi file that allows the depth access, as I can now add my own level of depthhaze or fog rather than what I find to be heavy-handed fog in the default game.

This is with a more subtle HDR, SMAA and depth haze added to a bright scene in Craglorn:

    Default:

    WqAGWuL.jpg

    With Fog removed:

    SlSRAjG.jpg

With Fog Removed, and depth haze HDR and SMAA:

    yfndwxm.jpg

You can notice how there is just a subtle amount of haze added to the last picture to allow for some depth, without blotting out so much of the distant scenery. The best part is you can tweak it however you like.

(Sorry I moves around a bit, and forgot to remove the UI in the second picture)

Edit: Your HDR balance is off, notice the clouds are so bright you can't see the underside of them. I recommend lowering the power then adjusting the radiuses accordingly.

As long as you don't redistribute the shaders or reshade mod then it's fine.

Also if you're interested in custom fog - https://github.com/crosire/reshade-shaders/blob/master/Shaders/AdaptiveFog.fx

And finally, SMAA/FXAA shaders cause problems for certain people. For some SMAA will cause fonts to become edgy/pixelated, and others FXAA will do it. I'm guessing it's a driver related issue, so any anti-allaising should probably be done with driver software. Plus the in game anti-allaising is good enough to see everything at 1080p fine. However if there is anything that the in game anti-allaising can't fix, force 8xMSAA and it'll go away.

No, ZAM won't allow it. If enough people ask/suggest they allow reshade presets in minion then maybe.

As I said, I increased DOF to show it off.

The UI if overlaying where DOF is heavy at will of course be blurred. However, I've adjusted the distance at which DOF triggers quite well, so in general when your UI does overlap the blur it should still be clearly visible (thats why I don't go overboard with DOF)

I actually like it a lot. Everything looks and more importantly *feels* more realistic and I can actually feel the natural surroundings, whereas normal EOS graphics make everything look artificial.

The SweetFX removal of fog I have always liked, though also been to lazy to use.

The shaders and such I just don't care for, I am happy with the colours and lighting in ESO as it is. Running the game at recommended brightness already makes it pretty atmospheric without making it unplayable.

I'll take the first / original... the adjusted / reshaded ones remind me of the crappy TVs we have these days that do all kinds of post processing on your picture to make it look "better", which usually fails horribly.

I don't make my own presets so I won't be redistributing your files, don't worry. This is all done for myself.

In regards to the HDR, yah when I upgraded to the new Reshade my old presets were lost, so the HDR was off when I took that shot. It was even worse before I brought the effect down a bit.

In regards to the SMAA, I find it has virtually no performance cost on my system so I use it in place of the in-game one, that seems to have very little effect, or more costly MSAA which can cause rather large FPS dips. Yes it does blur the text very slightly, but I barely even notice it and is only a problem if your text size is very small.

I did try the adaptive fog, but preferred the look of haze. Not sure why but I couldn't get the fog to look right. I think the HDR setting in the fog shader was messing around with the already set up HDR shader.

DOF can't be broken. You either enable it in Reshade or you disable it. If it doesn't work, then the preset was made for an older version of Reshade.

It can look cool, but it's a huge performance hog. And it makes your on-screen text unreadable.
