Give Us A Way To Level Undaunted Via Alliance War?

This adventurous group of warriors should definitely be fighting in the alliance war and, as such, there should be a way to earn undaunted points in Cyrodiil. This could be dailies or, better yet, for outstanding feats of heroism like holding out against an enemy zerg for a certain length of time which could be tied to the defense tick. The only difficulty/trick would be making it not easily farmable. In that respect I think it would be better tied to defense ticks rather than taking resources or keeps. I do believe there should be less of a need for pvp players to spend such crazy amounts of time in pve as well. Vigor/caltrops, the only reason for a pve player to spend time in Cyrodiil are so easily attainable. The undaunted passives take an insane amount of time in pve despite them being equally or maybe less useful than skills like vigor or caltrops. Anyway Im sure y'all have better ideas about how this could be done and it would be great to see something like this implemented.

    Shocked at how fast it is to level up undaunted now, ZoS did a good job. The daily delve quest as well is a fast earner for 10 points.

    Well then we would need a way to earn alliance Ranks for skills while not playing in cyrodiil. That sweet Warhorn and the ability to Cleanse needs PvErs to do PvP as well.

    I wouldn't mind an Alliance War skill that was equal to the Undaunted passive. ONLY IF there was a pve equivalent to Vigor, Warhorn and Caltrops, maybe even Guard.

    I believe that PvP players shouldn't be forced to do PvE content to get essential abilities and passive they need, but it works the other way around too. PvE players should not be forced to PvP to get a skill as essential as Vigor or Warhorn (for support players).

    LOL, the reverse could be said too.

    Assault/Support leveling is a huge pain to those who hate PvP.

    And for those who are good at group PvE and have a good group, they can hit max undaunted in a day.

    It's not that difficult, and it's good for the game to force PvPers out of their comfort zone, just as it's good to force PvEers out of their comfort zone. I support the Undaunted and Alliance War skill grinds 100%.

    Alliance War level 10 is demonstrably and objectively easier to reach than Undaunted 10: there's no comparison. Besides, PvPers have to go PvE for BiS for most builds,for skill points,for fighter's guild 10, mage's guild 10,etc. If any PvE player wants to chime in on a discussion of allowing players to level Undaunted in PvP with "but what about PvE players?", then ZoS should implement an opposite month event just for those "me me me" PvE individuals.

    Opposite month event would force PvE players to have to spend time in PvP to: get BiS, to get Undaunted/Fighter's/ Mage's guild leveled to 10, to get skill points, monster helms would be PvP exclusives that only drop from Gold Vendor every weekend and what appears is RNG,etc. That should squash any boneheaded comments from PvE players anytime PvPers ask for a bone thrown their way.

    Or we can drive home how absurd forcing players into content they don't want to play, while touting the mantra "play your way", to get what they need to compete in their preferred content truly is--make everyone have to fish for all of the aforementioned gear/abilities. Yes, fishing for BiS, sounds like a Wrobel idea

    Because I am completetley opposed to giving away alliance war skills to PvE'rs without them needing to PvP, I think we should also have to go grind out our undaunted. It goes really quick now anyway, if you make sure to do achievements like speed/no death you can grind it out in a day.

    WoW world bosses were exactly what I had in mind. Adding the PvP element would be great.

    I'm thinking the Molag Bal event from IC, but in overland Cyrodil, and a harder boss. Imagine if that randomly spawned and wandered in between Bleakers and the Chal milegate?

    Besides the lag fest that would ensue, this would be beyond epic. A giant world boss coming in and decimating the attacking armor and the defenders suddenly have to take it down. It would have to be really strong though, requiring like siege weapons, and like 20+ players. Or it could just walk through a wall breach and both armies would have to fight it off. Total chaos.

    I think ZOS point is to force us to play both PVE and PVP if we want to optimize our char. With this they are having player tests all type of content and have more population for group activities

    Sure I get that and I thnk it shouldnt be leveled quickly via the alliance war, but for those of us who really dont feel like grinding out dungeons on multiple toons, have a way that at least you can obtain it over time even if it takes like 3-6 months. Those who want to grind it out fast have that option. Or you can do a combo of both as you feel like it.

    Lol yep, and the hilarious thing is, they then think they are good.

    This is coming from someone who does PvE/PvP, duelling, numerous clears of VmA.

    PvP, although it has its issues, has at least dynamic enemies to kill or die trying.

    Ok two things

    1. Not for everybody, especially people who don't PvP a lot or even at all. Stop thinking just because PvP vets with plenty of spare time can do it in a day doesn't mean everybody can.

    2. What's that got to do with what I posted? My post had absolutely nothing to do with how quickly something could be achieved, it was about not forcing a PvP player to do pve to unlock what has become essential PvP skills and visa versa for pve players having to PvP to unlock essential pve skills.

    Alliance war skills can be unlocked purely through PvE. Town quests award AP for a while now. Do you have the risk of being ganked? Sure. Just respawn and carry on. Is it frustrating? Only if you let it be. You know what else can be frustrating? Pugging a dungeon and not completing it or it taking four times too long because of a weak group. But it's only frustrating if you let it be. At the end of the day it's just a game. Enjoy the ride.

    Undaunted has been greatly simplified. You've got a 10 point daily that you can complete on a crafter, ffs, plus three pledges a day that can be bumbled on norm.

    Earn it, or don't. It's fine the way it is.

    This would be like asking for AP from burning the catapults in HRC...

    EDIT: The Undaunted daily is 10 points, not 15.

    You only need 188,000 AP to get AR 6 (Vigor, Caltrops, Guard, Purge, Barrier, War Horn unlocked) and 308,000 to get AR 7 (proxy det, scorching flare unlocked)

    Even if you have no clue about PVP, it's pretty easy to earn 25k AP/hour which would unlock almost anything PVE players would need in 7 hours or so. I don't think people use proxy det in PVE, but if you want that, it would take a few more hours.

    To reach rank 10 Undaunted for the Undaunted Mettle passive requires 1,500 Undaunted points. You only get 10 points for achievements, 10 points for daily pledge or 20 points for some of the pledges.

    This takes a hell of a long time. For people who enjoy doing dungeons it's not a big deal because that's how they spend their time in this game anyways. For people who just want to spend their time in PVP it's a long, boring grind. I've been playing this game since launch (over 3 years) and still don't have max Undaunted on any character.

    If you focus on it undaunted doesn't take long at all. Go straight to Vet, do each once, crack a few hard modes etc. It's alot faster now. It's not just pledges,first completes etc really jump you up. Be sure to tick them all off and do a few speed / no death / hard modes etc.

    It still takes 1,500 points which is a long time no matter what you do. There is no possible way to do this in 7 hours, or even a few days.

    For those of us who hate PVE, why would we want to spend all that time doing something we find excruciatingly boring. Better to skip it and just make a build that does not rely on 5/1/1 armor.

    Personally I play this game to relax and have fun for a few hours after work, which usually means hopping into Cyrodiil or Battlegrounds for a bit and then logging off. Running these dungeons over and over hundreds of times is not my idea of fun.
