What did YOU get in your free Dwarven Crown Crate ?

I got one of the old discontinued Nedic costumes (Keptu). Was a little bummed at first but I put it on one of my characters and I actually really like it. And at least it wasn't the nix pet. Other items were consumables which I cashed in for 4 whole gems.

Have you ever bought something and it came with some promotional item and you tossed the promotional item away or never used it? I'm sure I am not the only one that has done that.

- When I purchased my video card it came with a game that i never played. Not once did I say, "oh I better play this game because I PAID for it".

- I order a sandwich that came with pickles on it, and then tossed out the pickles because I didn't feel like eating them. Not once did I think , Oh I better eat those pickles because I PAID for them.

My wife takes the pickles. We complement each other and the burgers.

Otherwise I order them without pickles, that way your burger is (usually) guaranteed fresh.


I admire if someone sticks to his guns like that btw. I'd probably still open it rather than delete it.

Would have hated if I had paid good crowns for that crate.

I received the same costume. Also some potions (which I won't use), some exp scrolls (which I won't use - the game levels fast enough already) and some food. Since I received the costume, which I did not have, I'm not considering it a total lost - particularly since I didn't outright pay for the crate.

My point was that whether or not you bought it "for" the crown crates, you still bought the crown crate.

Of course I have, but I at least look at it to see what it is first, to make an informed decision about whether or not I want to keep it. I would never just blindly toss something I paid for without even knowing what it was.

No, that is a false analogy. It would be like if you bought a sandwich and it came with a mystery box that might contain a pickle that you didn't want, or it could be full of ice cream, or a 5 dollar bill, or something else that you would have wanted and enjoyed, had you actually known what it was, but then you decided that you weren't even going to look in the box to find out.

No, it just baffles me. I am utterly perplexed, but it doesn't bother me that you're depriving yourself of the potential for something cool that you already paid for. I don't understand what is to be gained by refusing to open it, or what you stand to lose by opening it. But it really doesn't matter. It's just a silly video game lottery.

Ugh, I could have done without the crap in my crate. I don't even want the nix hound, it's something I would never buy and now my pets have that tossed in there. I got poisons too, and a style stone thingy which I'll never use. If they think this junk makes me want to buy crown crates, they are so so so wrong. I will never buy a crown crate.

Since beta I've been torn whether I like the Gorne Striped Wolf or the Pellitine Mustang more. It's still a tough choice. Striped animals are just cool like that.

My EU box had the puzzle ball memento. Somehow the tonal forks were a better pull than that.

Easy choice for me. Striped wolf, absolutely. The horse looks good, too, but the wolf is the only thing I really want from the crates.
