That boss can be a pain in the ass if not EVERYONE breaks free and gets the *** out when she teleports. Doesnt matter what your dps are if she heals up all the time. And you have to breakfree ASAP as she lifts u up since she heals herself fast. And thoose scrubs u played with just ignore em and move on.

A couple of months ago I was levelling up an alt in Coldharbour (PC-EU)

There was a group of 4 running around obliterating everything, so I tagged along, presuming they were all in a group together.

Then the following happened in chat.

Person 1 said: Stop killing them so quick you cancerous "c-word"s
    F**** hell
People on this game are f***ing autistic man I swear
    braindead

    To which I replied:
People need to learn how to speak politely, your comments just made me want to kill them quicker

he replied: "[my name]" you f***ing r**tard
    kys

    Person 2 replied: Yo f***ers
take it to the f***ing group rather than soloing

Person 1 said: No point saying anything they are brain dead

I responded: A polite request and I would have grouped or whatever, calling us "c-word"s then braindead and you wonder why no one is listening to you

Person 1 then sent me a whisper
Pull the mobs to the pack you f***ing stupid fat fingered r**arded autistic "c-word". it's not hard. It's such a f***ing simple concept my dead granparents could do it

That's the worst I've had, doesn't really bother me although this got to me enough for me to copy what they said for threads like this one. While it doesn't bother me, I can see it bothering others and there really really is no need to speak to others like this.

Im sorry but one bad PuG makes you want to quit the game.....

I mean i get it, it can be discouraging but just ignore and move on. Put your big boy pants on if you are going to be on the internet.

Keep at it you will only get better the more you play.

Maybe post your build for advice and say wht dungeon you were doing maybe there was some mechanic you guys werent doing and if thats the case its not solely on you.

I'm for kicking people BUT first :

a)Explain in several worlds what's going on (basic mechanics etc)
    b) Communication, explain what's wrong and if it can be undone (abilities not particularly effective, helpful)
c)See indeed what's wrong and tell the player in a polite manner that this won't work (after a few tries have failed)

Only with the above terms. There's no need to kick someone at the beginning of a dungeon or without talking to each other or being toxic and upolite. Hell, I've seen people talking russian only in chat and voting to kick another group member (reason: low CP). At least I could talk to that other member, so of course I voted no and the dungeon was finished.

The dlc dungeons might need some attention but all the rest is doable easily.

It's not just this community.. it is social media contents, in general. Internet and IT have given a wide range open door for all kinds of people. The world itself is full of all kind of people. When the majority of the population have access to the internet and participates in social media, you will always have good and decent folks with positive and constructive comments as well as those with not so much. This forum, ESO and MMO, in general, are basically social media. With text chats in ESO, it seems peeps are not really even playing the game, but rather bickering, bashing or trashing on each other.

Ok, yes, ESO is practically considered a MMO, and with MMO contents, the concept is playing with others or doing group things (although not necessary). So, yes, I had given a few months into being social and doing group things all around ESO (guilds and PUG in dungeons and trials), but soon realize there are just a never ending presence of people/players I would not otherwise socialize with or have as friends in real life. Therefore, the same goes in-game.. and on this forum. I still enjoy ESO, but it has practically become a solo content for me; often turning off text chats and ignoring rude and inconsiderate people/players. So, I feel you, OP..

    Welcome to ESO.

Remember this all happens on the internet, keyboard tough guys everywhere. Imagine walking into Walmart, if you act tough and start push people carts around, insulting their outfits, trying to duel everyone, probably be bad. Same as if you walk into the sports section and ask some random person 1000 questions about "How do you catch a fish?".

Best advise, join a guild, avoid talking to random strangers, research stuff - you literally Google everything in the game.

For me it's the opposite; the game is rather dreary and badly implemented, but I think the in-game community is excellent, and they are the key thing keeping me playing.

PC-EU that is, rarely met a bad person on there.

Just get into a decent guild and you'll have no issues.

Yah you just got to break free when the boss starts to stun a player and suck their energy.

I have actually soloed that one on Veteran. Funny enough is that if a second player came along and didn't know the break free requirement I would potentially never finish it. Kind of like what happened to you guys...

How did you get passed the double pressure plates you need to stand on?

@Wonky_Jr There are two ways to do this solo. The first way is to use a Bow, and when you are in the room with the pressure plates, position yourself with your back up against the bars and use Magnum Shot to clip yourself through the bars. This is an old bug in the game that happens all the time with walls, floors etc...

The second way is to hit the secondary lever in the exit portion of this part of the dungeon (the second lever door comes just before the room with the pressure plates). You can then work your way back to the boss and surprisingly kill them through the door. I would not recommend doing this on the Vet version though, as the lack of space to move around would be a problem. You then have to use the portal at the start of the dungeon to get into the room with the boss you just killed in order to flip the first lever and open up the rest of the dungeon.

Drodda is a DPS race, especially on vet. The main thing is that you have to break free as SOON as she starts leaching off you. You only have about half a second to react. If the whole group doesn't do this you are going to have problems.

@danno8 thanks for the insight. I knew about the lever on the second door just not about killing the guy through the other door/portal into room, and the magnum shot glitch WOW.

Well my post a few above was PC-EU.

Normally I ONLY play with my guild, but I was grouped with other guildies and they had to leave so I took the decision to try to be sociable, this was one of the very rare times I decided yo go it alone and join other random people.

I've never pugged in ESO yet, due to experiences in other games, and this incident, while it was probably me just being unlucky, it simply confirms my decision never ever to do so. Sad thing is, there's probably tons of nice players out there wanting to pug, and as usual a small minority of idiots wreck things for everyone else.

I am in a superb guild but I PUG PC-EU all the time, because I enjoy meeting new people. I've been playing since beta and whilst I have met players of all levels of ability in PUGs, I can count on one hand the amount of actively nasty/rude/bellicose players I have met in PUGs.

You were unlucky and like all things in life, you should not allow one bad experience to put you off something. If we did that, we'd never do anything!

When I think about my first run of Fungal Grotto II... oh man, I would have been kicked in a random group for sure.
I was there with a friend of mine (Dragonknight - veteran - highly skilled) and another friend of him (Stamplar with Bow - casual - quiet - not many experience). I never had to fight a boss with mechanics (and thought this boss was only vet) and so it came what had to come... the fight against Gaymne Bandu (the boss with the chains) was a complete desaster. Me and the Stamplar had no Synergy at all, targeting different mobs who hold the chains; resulting in a wipe if the dragonknight was chained. Rezzing also was not going well, all time we was hit by the mobs or the boss. That time (lvl 30 I think) my reaction was slow and I was unused to my new gaming mouse, often pressing the wrong button and... oh yeah, I first experienced the non-display-bug back then. I did not see the purple string between me and the dragonknight -> death. And the Stamplar didnt seem to do any damage... the cliche of the light-attack-spamming-bow-user was real. (We never told him that this way. He can be very sensitive)

We wiped so many times back then and it took sooooooo long for me to adapt to this mechanic. Im only learn by doing and even then it takes me a long time. This mostly includes learning to take care of myself.
If I would met such a group in a dungeon as you described and would be kicked and flamed, I would be like "maybe you should learn to do it yourself instead of blaming others". True, this cannot be said in such a case like Gaymne Bandur because you really cannot do anything against being chained, but i think most of the time this fits i guess.
I wonder what would happened, would the "Tank-Heal-DPS"-differentiation be cut out. Would be interesting to see.

The pug community is toxic, but the vast majority of people in this game are super nice. if you report those players and if they were actually that harassing, they will get banned, not suspended banned, I know Iv'e seen it happen before. The ZoS GM's really don't play around with that stuff.

Sorry you had a bad experience but, there are solutions provided you want to take them.

I can only assume you where fighting Direfrost final boss. She does an attack that sucks life from you and into her, UNLESS you "break free" immediately. I know this has nothing to do with toxic players, they are everywhere, in every game. Just trying to help you for the next time you fight her, maybe you can explain it to the others and beat her. It can be frustrating dealing with these type of players, but you really need to just brush it off and carry on.

The community has been very toxic, especially here on the forums lately. I got called a "*** SJW ***" the other day in a RP guild of all places and I've been on here since beta and have never seen such rude nonsense.

The thing that got warranted that harassment was engaging in a small discussion about LGBT visibility in the game but like, just there is so much toxicity in some corners.

I'm sorry you had this sort of experience. It's not right. Nobody should ever be harassed like this on a game of all places.

    Edit: Lol censored

It's not just the forums the whole world is slipped back into ignorance.
