51 crown crates = zero apex rewards

Used about $100 on the new crown crates, and basically got nothing. Only two non-apex mounts. Last time I got 3 apex mounts from the same numbers of crates, and several non-apex mounts. I know this is a gamble, and don't mind supporting ESO in any case, but a bit curious if the RNG is worse this time.

Still got enough crown gems to buy one apex mounts. I knew I would get enough gems to buy one such mount, so took this into consideration before playing the cards.

You could've learnt that by watching deltia open 100 worth of crates when the storm ones came out, nothing is guarenteed

Apex mounts were a 1% drop rate last round. Assuming the odds stayed the same, you got exactly what you should have expected for $100 worth. At least you have enough gems to buy one, but at $100 (the price of two full and brand new games) for a cosmetic mount... well up to you to decide if that was worth the cash.

A great man once said "You can't fix stupid". Man does this post ring true... OP got exactly what he paid for. That's gambling people - learn from his example and use your money on more pizza and alcohol - you'll get more mileage from those purchases than Crown Crates, lol.

I went to a casino once, and my friends talked me into playing craps. The dealer pushed 6 dice in my direction and I picked them all up and rolled. Everyone got mad at me because you were only supposed to pick 2 dice up ( not 6 ).

I re-rolled with 2 dice, and one fell off the table and went on the ground. Everyone was furious ( lol rage quitting ), and some left the table. I guess that was supposed to be bad luck.

I then rolled again, and kept rolling for around 10 minutes making everyone money. People that stayed at the table tipped me when I was done


So my advice to the OP, try again you might get what you want

I knew very well what I was getting into, so I'm not whining here. I don't use money on other games, and actually use ESO as a kind of "medicine" against narcolepsy, to keep me slightly awake, so don't mind supporting the game by giving hundred bucks to ESO. Only hope the devs will use our money wisely and create spectacular DLCs in the future.

Scamcrates 101...always start off with a high droprate..to get payers hooked...

then slowly decrease drops over time,to suck more money from payers..

This is how it goes...in every game ever that has introduced thios system..

Don't know where everyone thinks their money is going to go. I assure you it won't go into the game. It'll go into building that second pool for one of the ZOS execs. Eso+ subs more than enough to keep the game's lights on. And expansions like morrowind, well we now know we will be paying for those too.

Take the blinders off folks. That financial race track ZOS has you running around chasing that crown store carrot may be nice, but there are a lot of nice open fields to run to either side.

Just once I'd like to see a mount or pet or something else nice in the actual game I already support each month. Just once I'd like to see some new *** to collect and find, but not find it in the crown store.

I don't think ESO is scaming us. The company seems honest and solid.

I also got the black panther mount. Which I have wanted for a really long time, so I'm happy enough.

But don't buy crown crates unless you consider ESO a genuine hobby. A hundred bucks on crown crates is not that much compared to how much other hobbies often cost. But it's only from that perspective that this makes sense, because otherwise it's insane to pay $100 on a cosmetic mount. It's more than the whole game costs

Huh, I got the worst luck. Bought 4 crates, got one dog, a facepaint and the epic scroll of learning. Not satisfied, I got 4 more crates.. and got the same dog, the same facepaint and another epic scroll of learning. Friend pointed out the chances for that are really small, heh.

So yeah, I know the money I spend on those isn't going to go into the game, and I absolutely hate the system, because it preys on addictions and chances, but I am really weak. That's also why I hate it, because it works on me. I see something I want, and I wager wheter or not I should try, and try again and again, until I am out of the means to do so. In the end, I'll get frustrated and quit alltogether. Bound to happen sooner or later.

Exactly right. Honestly, my delivery is sometimes poor, but in the end my opposition to all of the crown store ploys is not because I hate the game or want to insult other players. My main concern is the fear that all of these things will lead to the eventual ruin of the game. The game itself I love, I just don't like that it is wrapped up in a in app purchase model, these models ALWAYS end the same, fast profits for the company, eventual dissatisfaction of the player base to the point where most players leave.

I don't want eso to fold up like the vast majority of other in app purchase games. I want it to have a long life, because I enjoy the game, and have been a TES fan since Arena. I'm not saying quick turn of profit makes ZOS unique or worse than any other corporation out there nowadays, but it honestly sickens me that these corporate tactics have reached the gaming industry, especially a franchise I've loved my whole life.

I spent a total of about 200$ last season of crates and ended up with 3 apex, all the other rewards, and enough gems to buy the other 3 apex rewards. The more you spend over about 100$, the gem rate goes up a lot.

Now only if I could place more pets/ mounts in my manor. I wanted to make a zoo, but with the limit set at 10 it is a rather underwhelming zoo. I was actually kind of mad when it wouldn't let me place any more animals. How am I supposed to show off all my cool crown crate pets of I can only place 10.

At least you get Gems for any duplicates and can turn consumables in for Gems as well... so it's not like you got nothing but dupes.

I have no problem with ZOS coming up with ways to make money. The overhead costs of running a world-wide MMO has to be intense, let alone the cost of creating new content... developers I'm sure make a very nice salary... nothing is made for free, and yes, the company AND its investors deserve to have receive an income too; without investors there would be no games.

Yes, "You can't fix stupid"... after all, why spend money on something that gets you weeks, months or years worth of entertainment when you can spend money on pizza and alcohol that lasts a few hours. Go figure.
