Dungeon Finder - automatically port us in again?

Does anyone else do stuff on a second monitor, or partially overlay ESO with another window, while they wait for dungeon finder to put them into a group only to never see the notification pop up and have to wait all over again?

With the old automatic port in would never miss a group, as even when only a tiny sliver of ESO window is viewable it was still impossible to miss.

No idea if this annoys anyone else, so thought I would ask, I would not usually be queuing as dps for dungeons, but need undaunted on this toon.

the entire reason they do a "readycheck" is to make a point against this behavior, its selfish to make a team wait because you cba to pay enough attention.

The new group finder completely destroyed dungeon running for me. They actually forced me to move to PvP. I don't really believe we will ever have a great experience with group finder as it was before. Yes, comparing to its current state it was really great before. ZoS don't even acknowledge there's is a problem with GF.

I constantly go to another screen to read something or watch a video while waiting for a dungeon finder group. With the system that used to be in effect if I missed the auto port in and my new groupmates got impatient they would kick me. With my luck this is the point I decide to check if I have been put into a group and now I have to wait another 15 mins anyhow. This sucked, both for me and the group mates that now have to wait for a new member

With the current system if im too preoccupied it doesn't start the dungeon run, I don't have to wait an extra 15 mins, and I don't leave people pissed off or disappointed by being afk. I think this current system is more fair to the people that get grouped up with AFKers like myself

Oh and I would like to point out that yes, I know all the issues I described can be fixed by simply not going afk. I merely appreciate that this newer group system allows me to be my lazy self while not hindering others from having an enjoyable(hopefully) ESO experience to the extent the old system did due to my lazyness

I don't get it. What exactly bothers you? If you don't pay attention and miss the port the group would kick you anyway? And is it really to much to ask to press another button for the ready check or pay attention at all?

60 seconds is really that selfish?

What would be selfish is jumping into group finder, going afk and forcing your group to kick you and wait for a replacement. I really don't see how a 60 second wait (assuming everyone else is ready instantly) is being overly selfish.

the system as it was would go ahead and port you in, which stops all other players from there various playing. At that point if you are afk all you are doing is hurting the team, and while you may say its "only for a minute" I know that isn't always the case. So now we're stuck with the "give him a minute" which leads to frustration, which leads to kicking, which leads to waiting for another player.

I mean if you really cant find anything else to do in eso but afk until a pledge pops (which with the GF these days can be quite a while) then why bother at all?

I pretty explicitly said I was still at computer in the OP, no afk'ing, so the longest it would take me notice would be the 60 second autoport (in the old system). We are not legit saying 60 seconds is wasting everyone's time?

I can see how the ready check prevents people afk'ing into dungeons though, never saw that as a major problem, however.

Thats true you did mention that, I just chose to ignore it. You cant honestly expect people to say "I was semi-afk so I should be given the benefit of doubt" when weighed against taking up what is potentially 30 minutes of three peoples time. I work with a lot of programs open usually so I know the feeling, but this way is a more grounded and practical solution to those that do actually afk this. Just think of this as a utilitarianism answer to the problem.
