When you created this thread you asked that of everyone here. It would have had a completely different feel to it if you had not indicated you have recently stopped playing, 2 weeks ago.

I don't know why you are attacking the OP over this thread s/he has never once given the indication as to them making this thread to leave the game nor have they wanted it to be something of oh woe is me I'm leaving. All they have asked is what it would take for you as a person to leave the game.

    What ignorance? Could you explain?

That we actually care that he is considering leaving the game. Just like every actual quit thread the forums pokes fun at the OP cause no one is interested.

I find that the OP seems to subtly 'attack' anyone who posts positive responses to his question. If you support ZOS, he questions why, as if simply liking the game isn't good enough. If you explain, then he comes back attacking your response by throwing in his own jabs at ESO. Then says, "My opinions aside though, don't let the opinion of a disgruntled fan blind side anyone. What's the tipping point for you people?"

So why bother posting this thread if the only responses you're looking for are responses from equally disgruntled players??

I play ESO because I enjoy it, I spend hours questing and have numerous alts; I buy things that I want from the Crown Store, I also fully understand that ZOS is a BUSINESS first and foremost and needs a constant influx of cash and I have no qualms with their pricing or 'cash grabs' as other disgruntled players like to call it. I'll stick around in ESO until they stop producing content that I like playing or until a 'better' game comes around... but I don't expect that anytime soon since I'm not a game hopper and am pretty picky with the type of games I enjoy; so far ESO has met and exceeded those requirements. Also, I'm NOT a previous TES series player, so don't think I'm here simply because it's a TES title.

I have to say up to this point, I am more and more pleased with the direction the game is going. As someone else said id have to say ill be done when im no longer having fun. Right now i jump between this WoW and FFXIV as my primary mmo. With the announcement of Morrowind, its now more WoW and ESO. I enjoy this game a lot for what it offers as an MMO experience. I think the community is one of the best in game communities out there and I cant think of anything in particular that would get me to just drop this forever.....Maybe TES 6 if it meant this games content was done? I dont know though.

Just curious, what will it take for players to uninstall and leave? What's your final "nail in the coffin?"

This isn't a goodbye thread mods, don't close this! All I've done is in sub and haven't played in 2 weeks.

If Teemo does not become the grand overlord of Morrowind I quit.

I don't think I've attacked anyone lol. Dozens of people have posted responses and if anything I find most answers insightful.

Clearly I'm not only looking for disgruntled players but they are out there. There have been an overwhelming amount of people that still love the game, that's great for them.

At this point I am only playing because I feel obligated to. No, not to Zenimax, but to myself - to justify years and money spent on this game. It took me a long time to quit LoTRO (my previous MMO) for the same reason. The game died to me a long time ago, yet I spent 3 years "quitting" as I just couldn't bear the idea of leaving thousands of hours of progress and money spent behind.

If it was a single player game, I would quit the very minute I get bored, uninstall and not look back. But MMO's have a lot more value in terms of time investment, as you are part of something. Your actions influence things where other people are involved, be it directly or indirectly. And even though the novelty wore off a long time ago, I still feel like I am not entirely done, there has to be something more, otherwise it would be all for nothing.
Weird how my mind works... Too much cheese I guess..

But what would force my hand to leave? Not sure, I am quite adaptive as a person and player. I've been playing online games since the first MUD's on a dial-up, so I've seen it all and experienced it all. Nothing surprises me anymore so I've learned to adapt and go with the flow. Though what does bother me more than balance or QoL issues is technical state of a game (crashes, latency, poor optimization) which don't seem to get much better. They only have diverted the issue from one place to another.
I did actually quit the game for several months after the infamous 1.3 "lighting patch" which made PVP unplayable and it never fully recovered, not even now. So I guess if they screw up the performance even more or don't try and fix/improve it in a timely manner - that would be my Q to leave. But so far it seems they are actually trying to improve it, with mixed results, but they aren't blatantly ignoring it like they used to at least.

You make some decent points. I do feel deeply invested. Time is more important than the cash I've spent, but there's quite a bit of that too.

    Bethesda announces TES VI.

Well, even then I won't quit ESO forever but I would be gone for a while if the next TES Chapter was out.

Oh, derp. Now I realized why they are calling Morrowind a Chapter instead of an expansion.

As someone who loves this game and has spent a good amount more than most players in the crown store, I have to say my answer is Error code: 304.

3 nights in, what is it now, 5 total. Take the servers down for a whole day if you have to. Fix your servers so we can enjoy the patch.

I play for my Guild, more than anything. We have some awesome people, and they are overall what keeps this game fun, for me. So the surest way to get me to quit is to get them to quit.

There are some things that would make me personally quit, as well, but I don't want to give Zenimax a list of new "features" to add, so I won't list them here. :D

The daily Error 304 is definitely going to end up on that list, though, if it's not fixed soon. No sense trying to play a game that won't even let me log in, you know?

Seems this error 304 is upsetting everyone, 2-3 nights in a row? Hopefully something will fix the issue come maint.

When I used to play EQ and EQ2 I had the same problem with gear and levels. I am casual players and always ended up getting the gear I wanted about the same time they raised the levels. I usually took a break from the game and then I came back when next raise came to start over. I love that ESO hasn't raised the gear cap for a year and half now, giving me time to get up there with good gear. I will definitely not quite when they raise the gear cap, but I may take a small break though. I love ESO and will probably stick with it until the day the servers goes down.

Way to go ZOS, you are doing a great job!
