What will it take?

Just curious, what will it take for players to uninstall and leave? What's your final "nail in the coffin?"

This isn't a goodbye thread mods, don't close this! All I've done is in sub and haven't played in 2 weeks.

I can't be bothered with this game at the moment. I've bought 7 days to die and am waiting for ME to come here in march. I can't be bothered with this housing update to just provide a grind till June because they've lacked proper contrent since 1T and ESO + is useless outside of craft bag.

Why? Not trolling, just curious. Is it nostalgia and the fact the game has "elder scrolls" in its title? Is there nothing this company can do wrong to force your hand?

I'm pretty much like you. I'll admit I was one of the people who was disappointed when they announced ESO ("OMG! No more Elder Scrolls games!"). But over time ESO has grown on me. So I still enjoy it, warts and all.

You know, actually I think ESO is best game ever made. Yes, I played other TES (Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim) and other games like WoW or GTA, but really nothing is even near ESO (except other TES there are nice too). Even if they willl make it 100% P2W I will play still. 99% of ESO community is not using forum, 'coz they love this game so much. Forum community is really other than in-game.

I was being flippant at first, but felt you deserved a real answer.
And I believe we all "love" TES or half of us wouldn't be here. It does get frustrating sometimes, I agree.

Edit: What will make me leave? Certainly not toxic/ gloomy players or nerfs to my favorite class. I will leave when I feel I'm no longer having fun.

I've left the game for extended periods more than once already. First time was when they went from a subscription to a f2p model on pc. I've played more than a few games that did the same and it always ends up being a disappointment - and always a cash grab via microtransaction too.

Notice how this far into the game we still only have 4 basic mounts available without dumping extra cash into it? Notice how we went from motif books, to motif pages, to page fragments in order to "persuade" people into buying the motifs from the cash shop instead? Notice how we went from items on the crown store being sold at face value to a gambling system with crates that only have a very small chance to give you what you're after? All of these things are the result of the f2p change and I promise you it will continue getting worse and worse in that regard.

I came back to the game when consoles released eso and I was able to transfer my account from pc to ps4. Console opened the game to more of my family and friends who didn't have pcs that could run it.
That lasted a while until zos pushed me away again with more of the crown store shenanigans (this time it was going from those motif pages to page fragments, absolutely ridiculous).

I hopped back in around thieves guild and realized nothing had really changed, so I was gone for another year or so.

Morrowind's announcement, along with the fact that they're finally adding the warden class that I've been asking for since before pc launch, brought me back again a few weeks ago. I've bitten the bullet and started grinding champion points, gold, and materials to prepare for the Warden which will be my new main.

We'll see how long I stick around this time. Honestly I was about to quit again with this homestead bullsh!t but I've calmly decided I won't be bothering with it and I'll just play the parts of the game that don't require an absurd amount of time and money.

Honestly I think the only thing that could get me to 100% leave this game is if the servers close or another MMO with the same big headliner name comes along. But even then idk what it would even be. Fallout mmo? Probably not. A better SWTOR? (No offense to those that play just didn't cut it for me back in the day). I enjoy the grind surprisingly. I'll throw on barstool sports podcasts and kill stuff for hours. Sure I take one or two month breaks when I get burned out but I always come back. And when I come back is the best because every time I leave for a month, I'm welcomed with a ton of stuff that blows my mind. I've taken three breaks from the game where I for sure thought I'd never come back but decide to anyways. Coming back to see dueling implemented was amazing. The craft bag. Housing. All these things keep it fresh for me and I've only made two characters since launch. So yeah it'll take a lot to peel me off this game

Crown crates are exactly that, they proceed to put cosmetic items that COULD be sold per item into a gamble system, to entice the addiction held player base and others, there are few supplemental items as well.

That's not the discussion at hand though, I may have been misleading with the "cash grab" part. Morrowind is the cash grab. They've held content from plus members to bundle the dlcs into a "chapter" while all the content in morrowind has been developed for a few years.

My opinions aside though, don't let the opinion of a disgruntled fan blind side anyone. What's the tipping point for you people?

In any rpg, cosmetics are just as important to player immersion as stats, sometimes moreso even. Everyone likes to jump on the "it's only cosmetic so it doesn't matter" train as an excuse, but if that were true these cash shops wouldn't work, and systems like costumes or dyes or transmogrification would never have been created.

About 6 to 12mths after they announce, if they do, thire final dlc I reckon

I've had a couple of brake's since I started playing when it went btp, I was part of the beta but as we known that mean 'nowt tbh

Anyways, like I say I keep having brakes to play other games like bf1, doom, fallout, dyeing light, etc

But I seem to always come back to this game, I can just potter about if I don't feel like pushing myself or i just want a chilled out time

Or I can push myself with dungeons, trikes, etc if that's what I want

So as long as I personally feel like I'm moving my one and only character forward in some way I'm happy,

And now its gone one tamirill then all the places that were Pretty much ghost towns/areas have got some life back which is top banana ;)
