I've left the game for extended periods more than once already. First time was when they went from a subscription to a f2p model on pc. I've played more than a few games that did the same and it always ends up being a disappointment - and always a cash grab via microtransaction too.

Notice how this far into the game we still only have 4 basic mounts available without dumping extra cash into it? Notice how we went from motif books, to motif pages, to page fragments in order to "persuade" people into buying the motifs from the cash shop instead? Notice how we went from items on the crown store being sold at face value to a gambling system with crates that only have a very small chance to give you what you're after? All of these things are the result of the f2p change and I promise you it will continue getting worse and worse in that regard.

I came back to the game when consoles released eso and I was able to transfer my account from pc to ps4. Console opened the game to more of my family and friends who didn't have pcs that could run it.
That lasted a while until zos pushed me away again with more of the crown store shenanigans (this time it was going from those motif pages to page fragments, absolutely ridiculous).

I hopped back in around thieves guild and realized nothing had really changed, so I was gone for another year or so.

Morrowind's announcement, along with the fact that they're finally adding the warden class that I've been asking for since before pc launch, brought me back again a few weeks ago. I've bitten the bullet and started grinding champion points, gold, and materials to prepare for the Warden which will be my new main.

We'll see how long I stick around this time.

Look, as I told before, why for you cosmetics is money grab or p2w? It only changes characters look!!!

In any rpg, cosmetics are just as important to player immersion as stats, sometimes moreso even. Everyone likes to jump on the "it's only cosmetic so it doesn't matter" train as an excuse, but if that were true these cash shops wouldn't work, and systems like costumes or dyes or transmogrification would never have been created.

Appearance matters, whether you want to admit it or not.

In game you can create even better looking armor. Will they guy wearing cosmetic robe one hit whole zerg in cyro?

Better looking armor is cosmetic, no? Wether you have to grind endlessly for that look or buy it, that's not the POINT of this thread.

And I don't think that Crown Crates is cash grab. You see ESO forum community is the only one that sees P2W in cosmetics.

Crown crates are exactly that, they proceed to put cosmetic items that COULD be sold per item into a gamble system, to entice the addiction held player base and others, there are few supplemental items as well.

That's not the discussion at hand though, I may have been misleading with the "cash grab" part. Morrowind is the cash grab. They've held content from plus members to bundle the dlcs into a "chapter" while all the content in morrowind has been developed for a few years.

My opinions aside though, don't let the opinion of a disgruntled fan blind side anyone. What's the tipping point for you people?

Pay to win isn't the problem. The problem is "pay for anything you want out of the game because we've either made it impossible or grindy as hell to get otherwise"

I did read your post, that's why I'm asking where it was mentioned. Duh!

And to answer your "money grab" in cosmetics question. Are you happy paying some 10k crowns for assets that are in the game from launch? Housing is the biggest money grab so far, besides those p!$$ poor hero costumes. Nothing in the crown store is pay to win in any way shape or form. But it certainly is a means of getting easy money with putting in as little effort as possible.

I'm just attempting to show everyone that many people on this forum are trying to destroy good name of the game without even having arguments.

Your attempting to make yourself look foolish. Good name? Because I spoke out about the Ill, money grabbing practices of zos? Must be nice to have a sheet pulled over your eyes. God forbid you see what this company is actually after. BUT!!! That's not the sole purpose of this thread. You are the one trying to get more out of it than what it is. There are countless shame threads on here, can you not employ them with your BS nonsense? Or are you going to continue to derail my thread with your fanboyism? Obv. That's not a real word lol.

Lol, can't you see that I wrote my opinion and then you instantly started your attack 'coz it wasn't against zos?

Pay to win isn't the problem. The problem is "pay for anything you want out of the game because we've either made it impossible or grindy as hell to get otherwise"

I just disagree with blatantly greedy marketing tactics.

First one who actually wrote "I", thanks :)

I'll stick around as long as I can still get my kicks from the PvP experience ESO provides. I'll probably play it less when CU comes out but will still need the occasional action combat fix.

If they raise the gear cap though, I'm gone. I cannot be bothered to PvE for hours on end again just to regain the same efficiency I had in PvP before said hypothetical gear level cap increase. RNG is just that bad.

Can you point out where pay to win was mentioned in the previous post? I'm not sure you actually know what it means and I can't remember that many posts complaining about it.

P2W means Pay 2 Win it wasn't mentioned in this thread but it many other treads on this forum. Read my previous post.

    Edited for swearing!

I don't have to pay for that 'coz I can get this not so hard in game. Housing even has no storage so it's cosmetic too.

Ehm the CS is there to make money.. its a business ofc. they grab your money. If you don't like it don't buy it. Some people might like what there is, and feel it worth it.

Don't really get way some people find the CS and prices so "Evil" There is a lot of stuff in the real world that is like that. And if there a no buyers it go aways again :)

    When I'm bored with it.

From past experience it's hard to say what would cause that and it's more likely to be a combination of things, including things which are nothing to do with ESO, rather than one specific thing.

I'm not your typical MMO player, I don't play just 1 game at a time, I go between lots of them and I don't really plan to 'leave' one, I just find I'm not choosing to play it as much, or at all. So if/when I do leave ESO it's going to be very hard to say if it's permanent and it's probably just because something else caught my interest.

Simply put, I think I agree with this opinion the most. I understand where zos headed and I don't think I can continue to support this structure. I'm not saying that lil ole me is holding the fort, but the time is coming to abandon the "sinking ship" in my experience.

It's great to see others opinion on the matter. I'm not here to cast judgement on people's own experience, but it's good to know the communitie's opinion.
