Sadly, there are no 'saved games.' vMA resets if you don't return within an allotted time. Pretty sure it's 24 hours.
Best advice, level more, study more, watch BiS youtube strategies for your class. vMA is very punishing below 400CP.

DigitalShibby wrote: »@Atherol any chance that under group you had changed it from vet to normal before going back? You wouldn't have had to specifically change that trial, just having normal selected in the group tab for the difficulty and heading back to MA would put you at stage 1.

vMA progress is saved by the quest.
If you did not pick up the quest in the lobby, progress is not saved.
If you abandoned the quest, saved progress is lost.
There are two separate quests, one for nMA and one for vMA.
Progress can be saved indefinitely, as long as you do not abandon the quest. You can resume progress months later.
- Make sure you have the vMA quest (not the nMA quest) in your quest log. If it's not there, there is no saved progress.
- When you return to Maelstrom, make sure you are returning to vMA, not to nMA. I.e., make sure your mode is set correctly.

Code has it spot on. You need to have taken the quest at the start to save your progress.
When you run in, it takes a second for the quest to appear. I missed it on my second attempt. You have to wait for a little animation.then the blue quest marker appears
Did you, 100%, speak to Fruit & Nut lady and take the quest?
Stick with it though, try again (getting the quest) first pass is always hardest mate, Rd 1 won't be so bad 2nd attempt
Good luck

This is inaccurate. It's at least one week prob longer but I can confirm it's longer than 7 days
