Meteor and Flame Staff 8% dmg buff.

Why the 8% dmg buff doesnt apply on Meteor ultimate?
its clearly written in the tool tip that it is a "Target" dmg, not ground, means it is not aoe.
Even tho, it gets buffed by lightning staff, i do not get the logic behind that.

Keep in mind that i know it is has ground aoe effect after impact, but it is not the majority of the skills and most players are just walking away from it.

It's AoE.

Edit: Like, all of it's AoE, the initial impact and the ground DoT.

Edit2: You have to "target" it on a player, but all its damage is AoE.

As Taylor said. Every component of Meteor is AoE damage.

I might be wrong but I thought the impact is buffed by fire staff and the aoe dot by the lightning staff

You cast it on 1 target, but it hits multiple, so aoe.

Maybe it is like how empower from VMA dual wield empowers noxious breath? So it's the target you are focusing on that gets the hidden debuff and only that one target is affected by the damage boost? I am just guessing here but I'll have to go see soon.

Seems this is "like" the discussion long ago where Templar got benefits from Thaum DoT

Tool tip and effects don't always line up if there are more than one thing going on.

Shrug ....as we've seen, it's whatever the devs want/intend regardless of the tool tip

The entire ability does damage in a designated area, which means it is an aoe. Flame staff shouldn't buff meteor as it is not a single target ability. Just because you only choose to use it on 1 enemy doesn't mean it is a single target. If I choose to use wall of elements on 1 enemy it is still an aoe.

First hit is target, the other hits are ground aoe.

The first hit (who apply the control) is also aoe. It's target-centered, not single-target.
All the meteor ultimate component are aoe, and all are buffed by lightning staff.
