lol have none of you played an MMO before? Lol you act this is first time that sub's have had to purchase an expansion for an MMO. Get over yourselves we as sub's get all dlc for free in a way, we get bag to hold all our resources, we get the 10 percent xp boost, etc.

This is an expansion not a DLC there is a big difference

Nope this is the first for me. Doesn't mean I don't feel *** on. 2 years is a long time to play one game and many have been playing for much longer. I love ESO but I don't like ZOS. WE PAY FOR THIS GAME. I think we should all sack ZOS and start taking interviews for a better developer LoL. Afterall what have they done but expand on the genius of Bethesda's elder scrolls? Theyre in it for the money. Not the lore or the gaming experience IMO. Just the money, and they're preying on the best of us. The Elder scrolls fanatics who are desperately trying to keep this game alive.

Of course they're in it for the money... if they weren't than there would be no game and their stock holders would find people who would be in it for money...
People like to romanticize video games, but if they weren't making any money, there would be no game... Bethesda and ZOS or any company for that matter isn't in the video game business for the lore... if they aren't making money trust me ESO would no longer be an option so this would solve a lot of the QQing, since that game would cease to exist

If they're getting as much money out of me as they are everyone else then it's blatant greed and disrespect to loyal customers. I've been with my mobile phone company for years and I get a better deal every year for my loyalty. What does ESO do for ESO+ loyalists? Very little content for months and then slapped in the face with content we have to pay for. It's not on.

What mobile company are you on... because I've been with AT&T for over a decade and I don't get a better deal for my "loyalty".

I KNOW that Morrowind is an "Expansion" and not part of the DLC terms. I've said this multiple times now... *sighs*

What I DO have issue with, is the express statement of their definition of DLC. It clearly states that ALL DLC is avalable via crowns or cash purchase to ALL members of ESO+.

Now....please bare with me, I know words are hard to read and not as easy as pictures....

If I DO NOT buy Morrowind - that is my choice and absolutely fine. HOWEVER!! And this is the important bit folks....

When they DO release further DLC in the crown store, this means that as a ESO+ member - I am legally entitled to it as it IS DLC.

But as I haven't bought Morrowind - I can NOT access it. Even though their own terms and conditions expressly state I can.

Therefore, I'm complaining about the fact Morrowind has become a Paywall to DLC for ESO+ Subscribers.

How do you know you won't be able to access it? Future DLC probably won't have anything to do with Vvardenfell.

He doesnt know. But right now i would probably say it is a valid concern. They are calling it a new. chapter... so what comes next will either be in the same chapter, or the next chapter... both would seem to fall outside the eso+ membership.

I don't sub, but I do buy crowns, and I actually bought 6000 crowns to sit on for exactly this kind of release. Not being able to purchase this with crowns is pretty much a deal breaker for me and seems like a lot of other people as well. Kinda sucks cause you already got my money for something I can't get, but eh, enjoy it. There probably wont be anymore coming in on my end and honestly I'm gonna tell anyone who asks when they see I have the game through Steam not to bother. Double dipping isn't cool.

I think most of the controversy could have been avoided by including an addition digital item for ESO plus members.

All Zos needed to do really was give ESO+ members a discount. 5%, 10%, 20%, anything pretty much.

What ESO should have done would have been to offer the expansion to ESO+ members at a reduced rate. That might prevent ESO+ members from canceling and using the money saved to buy the expansion, right? I canceled my subscription last year because the wording of what the DLC was came off too much like I was about to get ripped off (gut feeling). I have no problems paying for the DLC's that I want and I have saved hundreds of dollars so far.

Technically speaking: If you go with "Truth in Advertising"- ZoS did state that ESO+ members would get 4 major DLCs per year. If an ESO+ member doesn't purchase their expansion pack- the ESO+ member should still get 4 major DLCs to One Tamriel.

ZoS can't say "Well, we're making 3 of the major DLCs on the Morrowind expansion... so now you have to purchase Morrowind to get them..."

Let me put few sentences here.

I havent played for few months so im watching the whole mess from the outside with little emotional commitment.

I understand very well frustration of subbers. ESO was released on PC in April 2014. People subbing from the beginning got below content:
    - Craglon in 2 parts.
Then in 2015 game goes b2p and some people are still subbing as a way to ensure they will get all future content included in sub. They got:
    - Imperial City dlc (planned and worked on since release)
    - Wrothgar dlc (teased in 2014)
    - Thieves guild and Dark Brotherhood stitched together almost make the size of Wrothgar
    - im struggling to call Diorama update a content dlc but they also get it.

Now they learn that the need to buy Morrowind dlc, furthermore i wouldn't be surprised if most (if not all) future content would be connected to Morrowind.

Some say its good value for money. I say for 540 $ or the equivalent in Euro its quite pathetic. Furthermore white-knights jumping in compare it to WoW, apart of satiric aspect of that ( ESO is not like WoW, get over it!) forget that the MMO market doesn't end on ESO and WoW, and in many cases comparison doesn't look good for ESO.

The other problem is the ZOS attitude towards, what can be called most devoted, subbing fans. Yes there are absolutely no legal reasons to sue ZOS, they are "legaly" right, but they come as very shady company.

To the people paying for sub - one advice from the old fart. Never, ever treat a company you do buisness with as friend, never ever pay for something that you dont have to and in case of ZOS never, ever belive in vague promises of something that they didn't very clearly promised with official, concrete statement.

Me? Im going to download Diorama dlc and im going to Cyrodil. And if i meet 1, literały 1 "unusually long loading screen" the game is off the SDD and best of luck to all of you.

    Cheers

Happily strolling, diving and gliding around Tyria,

Now, is that all future ESO DLCs or all future DLCs including Morrowind DLCs? Because there is a distinct possibility that they will release DLC's targeted for specific games ESO vs Morrowind. Would it make a whole lot of sense to release a Clockwork City DLC outside of Morrowind? Sure it's possible, but I could see them adding separate DLCs. Further, ESO+ will get DLCs for free on both, so it won't matter to subscribers... not until the next 'chapter' is released- probably in another two or three years.

    *pause*

Zenimax doesn't have stock holders because it is not a publicly traded company.

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

Not traded on public exchanges doesn't even remotely mean doesn't have shares. You think every privately-help corporation is owned by a single individual?

There's a tacit agreement that my sub entitles me to all new content. That's what I'm paying for.

I think they're swimming in dangerous legal waters here.

ESO Plus explicitly includes access to DLC. The fact that they've slapped a different label on this expansion doesn't change what it is.

Lodge a complaint with your local consumer protection agency. Or cancel your sub for long enough to cover the cost of the expansion.

I think most of the controversy could have been avoided by including an addition digital item for ESO plus members.

    Or just less morons.

lol have none of you played an MMO before?

You're right I'd personally be much less peaved if they announced an ESO+ discount. Now that anyone can buy all zone dlc content for 5K crowns I regret not having the same forsight.

    I'll just leave this here:

    eso-plus.jpg

Notice where it says ALL downloadable content.

The fact that they've since changed it to crown store only DLC's is simply a technicality to allow them to call future content 'expansions' and exclude them from the crown store so they can charge extra money.

I just don't understand how so many people are caught up in the hype and are overlooking it.

the content of it changes what it is..... you can start a toon there, you can't do that in any of the dlc.

OMG People - Please - Learn to read what I actually post and not just look at the freaking picture.

See my link at the top of this page; it's already been officially confirmed that future DLC access will not require having purchased Morrowind.

Calling it a'chapter" is quite revealing isnt it? Do you really need more?
