Guild Traders and Bidding

We definitely need more guild traders on PC NA. This lack of traders is actually creating trade monopolies.

One of my old guilds often picked up a trader for a 10k bid. If you're aiming for a popular location, you're going to pay more. If you don't mind an outlaws refuge, you'll get it for 10k. There are some times I even see empty traders.

If you MUST install a couple of addons to use a BASIC feature, it means that is a terrible concept of game.

I think the only reason for ZOS to keep it, it's the gold sink.

Player that enjoy the trading game are present in every moo with a global auction house, so that can't be detrimental for them.

    3. What I do believe is within everyone's best interest is a combination of the following

    - each existing trader should have 5 slots per trader each week. So instead of one, it's 5 unique guild stores per trader.
    - I also believe that offering a guild store extension among non-trader guilds to see additional guild stores from the bank NPC would be a good thing with limits on how many can be added but restrictions that disable guild store linking if the guild has an active trader

Again my two cents on it all

so maybe instead of having a trader as an individual person, have a store with multiple salespeople in a single location. You bid on a store and each salesperson is assigned a bid rank 1-5. would require a lot of work but i think that would achieve your suggestion

    Don't speak for everyone.
I played WoW, and I used the AH System. Would HATE to see ZoS implement it.
Play your other MMO's. Keep ESO fresh and different.

Also, YES it would be easier for mega rich players to monopolize the market with a AH.. One stop, drop 15 mill, own every (X).
In ESO, see how long it takes you to travel to all 183 kiosks and by all of (X). :)

Hate scrolling thru 15-20 pages of stuff? Then imagine scrolling 10's of thousands of pages!
As commented SOOO many times, the mega server would make a AH a nightmare if not impossible to do..

Also, this has been discussed, debated, and commented on by players and ZoS for 5 years.
Guild Traders are here to stay......

BUT!!! Instead of bumping AH threads, why don't we bump all the threads to improve GM tools and QL for guilds and thier GM's and members!!! Here are few examples...

That's not a problem with the trader system per se, though. It's a problem because of the terrible UI design. Nothing really prevents better search functionality into the current system - that you can do it even with addons, is proof of that. Apparently, programming a terrible UI is a Bethesda tradition that ZOS did try to continue. :D

This is actually an elderscrolls tradition. I've put in ridiculous amounts of time MW, Oblivion and Skyrim on both xbox and PC. On PC, the community basically finishes the unpolished games. If you play any of the others, be sure to install the unofficial patches. Then mods can really put things over the top. The console versions are simply inferior with added bugs and restrictions.

TTC and MM make the guild trader system something I really enjoy and the vanilla system needs to suck for the sake of lore. :D

The really fun part is when you do try to use those interfaces and find hardcaps baked into the searches to keep you from overflowing the client. You wouldn't see thousands of pages, you'd see the first 50 or 100 pages of garbage that you couldn't filter out.

"Yeah, I'm sure those green invigorating War Maiden's Pants are worth what you're asking, but I can't even find the sets I'm actually looking for, because there are 20k of the ******* things in the AH!"

Hilariously, I ran into this exact issue recently in an MMO, for exactly that reason. The AH would list the cheapest items first, meaning all you could find was garbage because the text filter wouldn't sort out the traits you actually cared about.

On every server and platform big trader guilds have a monopoly in the big cities. Which in my opinion isn't a bad thing. The current system creates a hugh gold sink so they probably won't change that.

However it can be updated in my opinion, I mostly play on the console and what I really miss is a search option. Or at least be able to search for things I don't know yet.

I play this game to much, I enjoy the pvp and pve parts on the game. But during the day I love to farm. A big issues for me is that I farm more than I can sell. I am in 3 big trader guilds, which only leave 2 spots open for other guilds. Currently I filled these with trial guilds.

That's why I would love to see either more listing spots, so I can drop one of my trader guilds for a pvp guild. Which also can be a solution for the current market issue. More stuff you can list, less guild traders needed more spots for other players.

You are SOOOOOOO wrong about managing inactive guild members. My Guild is premised on the fact that a player who hasn't played in a year can log back in and find many familiar voices, those of us that play more regularly still in the same Guild. I have heard of so many that say, "I logged in after a couple months and logged into a dead guild.'

I welcome players who left for a year to come back and group up with us -- Long time MMO friends -- If your real friend didn't show up at your home for 14 to 30 days, you would kick them to the curb, roll up the mini blinds, move without leaving a forwarding address, and say c-ya wouldn't wanna be ya? Really?

For many, not logging in for an entire month is regular. Everyone has lives and plays other games. Why punish those players I enjoy hanging out with. I look forward to their return time and again.
    Treaborne wrote: »
Actually that is the entire point of Managing a guild you need to clean out the roster at least every 14days to 30days.

Firstly this can be done is setting anyone that is inactive 14day or longer into an inactive limited rank that has no access to the extra benefits of active members.

Secondly anyone in that 14day to 30day inactive are still members in some form, but at the 30day mark you need to start kicking the inactive members. There is just no point in having them unless you are a very very very casual guild, and in this case why would you even need a trader?.

Guild trader prices have gone through the *** roof these days. My trade guild used to be a permanent fixture in Riften. Then three weeks ago AK Goreapples stole our trader, paying *at least* three times what the trader is actually worth, especially for a tier 2 city. We haven't been able to find a trader since.

We have, however, kept all our members. They are good, loyal people, who understand the situation.

But seriously, though, what the ever loving *** is going on?!

The main problem is we have a lot of traders in areas with very low traffic and very small number of traders in high traffic spots.

Some minor changes like increasing the number of traders in capital cities could improve the situation for both small and big guilds:
    • Move traders from remote out of the way spots to the capital city of each zone.
    • Move traders from Ebonheart to Davon's Watch
    • Move traders from Skywatch to Vukhel Guard
    • Add claimable guild store dialogue menu to every quartermaster in Cyrodiil including outposts, resources and towns
    • Require guild store unlock to claim keep in Cyrodiil
    • Adjust placement so that wayshrines are close proximity to most traders
    • Add couple more trader NPCs in each outlaw refuge

Guild store prices are reciculous ... One solution I thought of was fixed prices on guild traders depending on location ... But all payments must come from taxes earned ... People have said it can be manipulated but they can always be manipulated so to offset not only are individuals limited to slots they are limited to total price they can sell at

I agree that taxes should come in to play - e.g., the "lost tax" (3.5%) from sales of the previous week should count towards the bid on the current week. So guilds actually selling stuff get a "leg up" on those that aren't. You can't scam that as it isn't paid to the guild - it is money lost, so as good as a credit towards a bid. Let's face it, guilds that have traders but don't sell much stuff aren't much value to the larger community. The bias should be towards those that actually sell stuff to the public.

Don't change the traders, it works well. I say this even when I am members of several guilds that are being targeted by malicious guilds that are trying to take over. That competition is exciting even when you are struggling to avoid it.

You have all these things listed and bamn! you lost your trader try against next week and you don't have a way to make money to get it back.

The problem is that people never leave the main cities, there just has to be more reason to travel around. Vvandenfel, CWC and Wrothgar have these dailies that get you out of the main city and into the wilds, although they traders are concentrated in the main hubs in those zones. I think they should add delve and world boss dailies to the vanilla zones... perhaps make a new set of motifs, put in some furnishing plans as well.

Yes. And then, how about adding in some dynamically changing overland content and making overland actually challenging?

I absolutely agree to having a method to find where something is and at which trader too would be nice.

Or they could increase the number of Trader stalls with a fixed pricing scheme as follows:
    50-100 members = 600k per week
    101-200 members = 900k per week
    201-300 members = 1.5million per week
    301-400 members = 2.3million per week
    400+ members = 4.1million per week

Also make it so you can view every Trader from any Trader in that zone, this would reduce having to check every npc for what you want in each zone, and would make the market a little more competitive.

Agree with your post, and this only helps on PC, but you can pop up Google and type "Tamriel Trade Centre Search". Then you can search for item with trait and other specifics to see a list of which traders have them. Shows the price and everything.

This whole trading system is insane...

We had people spying on our guild to see what the bids would be so another guild could out bid us... How is that a good system..

    *** EVE online ruined mmo's...

Easily fixed make a city for guild traders all in the same place.. If a person wants to use a trader they port there and peruse the wares at each one.. Then everyone has a separate GT store but they all get the same eye time..

This entire topic is moot when every week there are 1) traders that go for hours if not days with no guild hiring it. and 2) every week i find traders that are empty or have only 1-2 items for sale and those same guilds get the same stall each week. Not only that but I often travel to remote traders. I do in fact shop around. and you know what i find? increasingly i find that the better deals are in fact in the central trading hubs. Sure occasionally i find 3-4 items listed competitively but often its not worth my effort to go to these smaller remote traders.

If your a GM of a guild in such location i would encourage your members to find a way to attract people to your stall. one of the best ways to to make sure that your guild members are listing at competitive rates. Because why would i keep traveling to your stall if I consistently dont get good deals? If you really want to break the back of the larger guilds and bring down the costs of traders you have to break the convenience factor and make it worth the trip to your stall.

This is NOT an easy fix. the competitive nature of the the guild trading hubs removes Millions of gold currency from the game each week. by doing something like this you are removing the competitive nature of the existing market, which means that the #1 gold sink in the game is either gone or significantly reduced. name me ONE alternative gold sink that can remove that much gold that is NOT a one time purchase and also removes that much gold from the people that have most of it?
