Who will quit this game if housing costs to much?

I want a home simply because I want all this game has to offer. But I would not leave if I cannot afford it.
I'll be buying a house and can hopefully afford it. If it's priced around 10 million per large home, I'd find that outrageous, but others might find that a drop in the bucket. I'm not so worried about the gold cost as I am about the nickel and dime crown store offerings that will end up being practically necessary if you want a functioning home. Nothing has been mentioned yet, so I'll save my final decision on that for a bit. I'm likely not leaving the game over something like this, but then again, you never know how offensive the money grab might end up being.

Welcome to the Bank of Mournhold, we've prepared the analysis you requested...

basic horse - 17 thousand gold
    fancier horse - 43 thousand

    tier 1 potency rune - 30 gold
    tier 10 potency rune - 2500 gold

A small house would reasonably cost at least 50 thousand gold, medium 100 thousand, manor houses 250K or more...
& it would be likely that when Guild Halls eventually come in it would be on another order, small guild house 500K, huge guild castle 5 million

If you want our Investments Scryer to try and learn anything more specific you'll have to provide all the ritual materials & the standard hourly rate for Castings.

Really? I'm not worried about it... I suppose that the devs know the average gold that players have and will set the prices accordingly. I do really want to know the houses prices and materials for decorations, so I can start saving with a goal for February.

I read the title and just thought "really? Is this a joke?". If someone gets ESO just because they heard of housing then yes I can imagine them leaving if their disappointed for whatever reason. However that's assuming that they will be disappointed. Why assume the worst when we have no reason to.

Considering how many other aspects the game has, leaving for one seems silly. For example, PvP isn't perfect we know that. Cyrodiil can be terribly laggy. But no one leaves just because one part of the game is a bit twitchy. The list of the features ESO has is very long, which we should all be happy about. So housing, I am very excited about it. I haven't read if its like you can buy a house in any major city, like in Oblivion and Skyrim. But it is a feature that I am looking forward to regardless.

If it costs to much. That's a big if considering we have no clue what the prize could possibly be. In Skyrim a house could cost from 5 000 gold to 25 000 gold. Depending of course on size and how it looked, plus any decorations and furniture cost extra.

In my personal opinion, as long as it is not outrages prices I will gladly buy a house. If it however for some reason is insane prices, I will be disappointed yes. But I will not stop playing ESO just because I dont have a house.

We have played ESO for years without any housing, we have all managed just fine. I dont see why the possibility of an expensive house will just put us at a dead stop and not play anymore.

Without free, built in storage, housing is just a time and gold sink, not real content. Nothing to explore or challenge to overcome. The cost really doesn't matter, as making gold requires little effort, and keeping it is just a matter of good choices. Anyone can make millions of gold in a short time with a little effort. Houses will be an interesting distraction while we wait for new DLC. Eventually, houses are likely to become a constant annoyance on the forums, when zos inevitably monetizes them by selling storage, display, and upgrade options in the crown store. The forums will be full of salty tears. It remains to be seen if it is even worthwhile to have a house in this game, unlike Skyrim. But nothing about houses is worth quitting as long as the game has other appeal.

The cost of housing is not in my top 5 potential reasons to quit playing ESO. The cost of housing should be varied. If I do not have enough to get a specific one I want, well then there is another goal for me. Now if they are obscenely priced, that might be something else. I probably wouldn't quit over it, but it would be another nail in the how gross can ZOS be box. And I just wouldn't buy them.

I would honestly be very hard-pressed to quit the game at the moment, although I do understand the mentality of clinging to an MMO you used to basically worship, waiting for that one final straw to get you to walk away for good.

Had to pick this option because it made me laugh. While I personally have no worry that I won't be able to afford the fanciest house, I would not actually laugh at anyone else because I had trouble with money early on so I know how frustrating it can be.

That said, housing doesn't affect gameplay so I honestly don't see what the big deal it. You will get a free room at the inn and I'm sure some smaller places will be affordable. Money isn't all that hard to make in this game if you gather everything you see and join a couple of trading guilds.... sure, you may not be able to get yourself a mansion, but with a little effort put into it there should not be a problem with getting a small house.

Really, just be happy that these aren't crown store only. Even if it takes ages at least you CAN earn them without spending any real money.

Cost doesn't matter if the houses actually add value to your experience. But with no storage, which is been a staple of TES housing since morrowind, the houses will get boring eventually since you cant even sit in your couch overlooking your mantle where you can see all the monster helms you farmed displayed.

None of these options truly define my logic in regards to housing. I am looking forward to housing, but I am not even considering leaving over it. We survived clown crates, after all. I also like to think that I will be able to afford most of the houses, unless they are in the millions, which would be rather ridiculous.

1 million is not unreasonable, seeing as how you're required to earn a million from the justice system just to get the Contraband Violet dye.
