Fallout 3 is the first game I remember playing that I could choose gender, and for some reason I chose female I don't know why, but every game I played after that that you can select which gender you wanted to be I always chose female

I play all males exclusively. It feels weird playing a female character for some reason. I have remade one for the fifth time. I'm determined to find the appeal other than the obvious.

Oh, I wanted to add, because I think people probably wonder the reasons for this, I think I am stuck with the idea that hero equal male. I am used to female heroes (which aren't that many in entertainment) and not all put off by the idea. But I don't that the mind set to establish a female character. My first character I knew right off. Third son of a noble family who would rather pilfer than deal with his family. Second was poor but devoted guy who set out to find adventure and help who he could. Third had a dream to be one of the king's top recognized knights and thought adventure would secure that for him. I could go on. But I can't get a female down without it sounding like an old school Disney princess story.

I have to have a backstory to give me some connection even though I don't RP beyond that. I do dislike some of the options in the game that require you to make bad choices. And I wish I could be fighting against the Dark Brotherhood in that DLC instead of with it on some. I'm trying to come up with something for my lady character where she has is secretly a good Daedra worshiper (I'm thinking Meridia) but her Redguard family would disown her if they found out thus out into the wilderness she goes. But it seem too specific to this game whereas the others aren't . And I really don't know Redguard culture that well. In her previous life (all started out as long ago D&D characters) she was an elven hunter who basically left home to follow a boy and I don't think that's appropriate for what I'm wanting here.

I just feel comfortable playing a female as I am one haha. I like to make my characters all look like dolls since I'm a huge doll collector irl. Idk, seems weird, but it's what I prefer

I play both. I have 11 characters currently, it'd be odd if they were all one gender, so I kind of go 50% male 50% female.

I play both genders, depending on the character concept I have in mind for them. I also like to play characters that are different from me (in gender and/or personality), because I get to experience myself in real life all the time. Having the same in games as well would be boring for me.

I play cisfemale chars within the confines of character creation stated gender choices, being that, but so few of them are the "anorexic model" kind I see so many of in MMOs. While I have a few feminine girls, I really enjoy making and playing very tall, very buff, older women. When someone I once knew saw one of my char's main menu facial screenshot, they asked me whether the character was male. :P It was an Altmer sorc with the angular face, which I just love. I do actually enjoy also making chars that could be considered trans-female, and trans-male, or non-binary. But the survey option I picked was supposed to be a cis option, as I imagine male was, considering the survey limited answers to merely the gender binary.

Do you know what would be great, though, to have in a character creation menu of this game and all others with char creation menus? Remove those gender binary presets, and allow us the possibility of making chars who're as totally non-binary as possible. There's no reason no-one wouldn't be able to continue to make strictly binary chars, and assuming their knowledge of anthropomorphic anatomy is sound, there shouldn't be an issue.
