My guess would be you can only stretch pixels so far before the armor skins would burst, resulting in unsightly dicky-do clipping bursting through.....
Besides, ESO characters are more active on a day to day basis than an athlete in training. No mead guts on them B)
I'm not prejudiced; I hate everyone equally !

Sorry, but I have to ask.
What..,is he doing there...behind the horse...?

Maybe hes an Imperial legion solider who was sent back in the past to find and arrest the ancestors of Stormcloak soldiers?

    @Birdovic

That's the /ritual emote. There is a notable forward-thrust of the hips with it, which is probably being used here to simulate the image of the character having sex with the horse.

Before processed foods there wasn't that much obesity. It's very plausible for most people in a fictional Tamriel to be fit.

Your character runs 24/7 in armor, fights all day, and eats every two hours. And somehow you believe that your character being in phenomenal shape is somehow unrealistic? Being fat would be unrealistic.

Personally... I would -love it- if ESO made some more around body types. Maybe a preset during chargen, where you can select "normal" or specialized types... with their in-game effects.
    Like...
..."obese" type that is sumo-wrestler fat, and might have a bonus to hit points (because of all the blubber), but also a drawback in movement, using 50% more stamina to sprint and dodge and having a top speed of only 80% of the usual characters?
..."overgrown" type who is bigger and more muscular then others, gaining a bonus to weapon damage... but a penalty to defense, since they are such a big target?
..."petite" type which are small and thin, and get a penalty to weapon damage but a bonus to defense since they are hard to hit?
    You know, stuff like that...

I feel that a lot of the people commenting here have not yet tried to make a fat toon in this game. When you try, you find the "fat" scale stops at slightly overweight, but definitely not fat. It's annoying when you actually want to make a larger than life character and be forced to play a slightly chubbier than life one instead

Want morbidly obese blobs running around and fighting bad ass bosses? Imagine that. Thats where you'll get shamed because everyone will be laughing at your character like s/he is a circus freak.

In a world such as elder scroll only wealthy persons could afford to be overweight. If you wanted to argue that wealthy persons In this game should be obese than i can see that But that very few npcs.

So, being rotund in a game where everyone is running around at great speed, questing everyday with full armour on, killing beasties and other players and whatever else happens to stand in their way, whilst eating like the proverbial horse... is unrealistic? How oxymoronic.

Being fat is bad. Being fat is unhealthy. Deal with it. Being fat is not a way of life. It's just unhealthy and a videogame should not promote that.

Valid point but... being sick or handicapped is also bad, or better said, unlucky, and, depending on the situation, also "unhealthy". Noone should be judged for being either of those and we are not all equal in front of food/weight problems.

I'm saying this because your point is interesting, and my comment is unrelated to this somewhat stupid thread.

If I look at the game itself, I'd rather point out that most NPCs, especially female NPCs, have a "Barbie-doll-shape", which has been scientifically proven to be far too skinny to be realistic or healthy. I'd rather accuse the game (and many other games) to condone anorexia than to "fat-shame".

People like OP need a polymorph called "Beetus".
