We could just be thankful that they are addressing the problem quickly, rather than letting it go until the next scheduled maintenance.
I don't understand the logic behind this, do you expect your doctor to reimburse your time for keeping you waiting in the bad magazine room?
Chicken nuggets took too long, give me free ones.
This ain't Domino's, there isn't a 30min or it's free clause in that contract you didn't read but accepted.
It would cost them quite a lot actually as it sets a precedent, if they coddle you and give you things because you are sad, you will expect it every time they mess up. And make no mistake they mess up a lot.
Forums are fun though when there is downtime.

Not needed and should not happen. Maintenance is part of any MMO and should be expected.
It's better to have a company that will do maintenance than one which ignores issues and forces us to deal with them

What about the many people who are well beyond the CP cap and don't give a damn about XP?
Also, you'll be getting 3 weeks worth of XP boosts when the New Life Festival starts on Thursday.

So as a company when they screw up, that's on us. We should be the ones to take a hit and if we don't like it we can go screw ourselves. It's this mentality that makes games go dead or at least have a much slimmer customer base than they would have if the company actually cared about it's customers (or at least showed it did). Ya'kno why Dominos gives you that free pizza? Because that keeps you coming back and buying more. It's called good business.

Not for 14 friggin hours within 2 days. I'm not new to mmo's. I've been playing eq2 for years and it was never that bad for downtime without a damn good excuse like xpac being installed on servers, not "oops, sorry, we twip over power cord, you wait now for long time! Thx for your patience!"

Quickly? You call 14 hours (over 2 days) "quickly"? I'd hate to see them take their time on something....
Oh and what exactly are they fixing anyways? Have they even cared to tell us? Are there patch notes for it?
Ya, that's why I was only asking for xp boosters for me, anyone that feels only I should get xp booster, thumbs up! that's what I said! Perhaps go back to kindergarten and learn how to read before you start spewing BS all over the place.Cared about its customers?
I get it, you feel slighted, but you are not special, your time is not more important than anyone elses and because this interferes with YOUR time doesn't mean the millions of other people are affected by it.

If you would've done what you *should've* done when you started the game: READ THE ToS.
It clearly states that we do not have the right to demand compensation and that they have the right to take the game offline as they see fit.
Why can't people just l2read what they're agreeing to. You wouldn't sign a contract without reading it - which is basically what you're doing when you're creating an account; signing a contract. Ain't anyone's fault you feel obliged to compensation, because you were too lazy to read what you agreed to.
Sigh. Laziness. 1st World's worst disease with a solution.

DDO had a 4 day... yes 4 days... downtime. In the greater scheme of things where I spent 7 years there, I would say even 4 days is a blink. In the years this game has been running and looking at uptime statistics, I would say that they have done a stellar job keeping it up.
Working out the bugs before it goes live needs to be addressed. Pick several players of varying ability and test it out on a beta server. Would do wonders for averting complaints like this that have no knowledge of how computers/servers actually work.
